Welcome to Fort Bragg. Established in 1918 as an artillery training ground, Fort Bragg is named for Confederate General Braxton Bragg. Located in Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett and Moore Counties, North Carolina, Fort Bragg is the home of the U.S. Army Airborne Forces and Special Forces, as well as the U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command. It encompasses an area of 251 square miles.
