Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Caitlin88 Friendly staff and clean rooms
We arrived very late to check-in, and the staff was very accommodating of the situation and had us checked in and in our room in 5 minutes. The room was clean and up-to-date. I'm very picky about my mattresses and pillows, so I would say that those provided did not afford me a good night's sleep, but my companion slept just fine, so it's probably just me.
My only concerns about the room/facility regard the air conditioner and fitness facility. The air temperature in our room fluctuated so much that I was having trouble sleeping and getting bad headaches. The temp would vary between 80 degrees at night and 65 during the day, without us touching the thermostat. Our first night there, the fire alarm went off because the heat kicked on (!!) and hadn't been used in a while. However, our room was always a nice escape from the midday heat. I used the fitness facility once, only to find that 1 of the 2 treadmills was out of order, but I'm sure that's an easy fix!
Overall, I would say this hotel is a great steal for the money! Other than minor issues with the air conditioning, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff, in my opinion, are what put this hotel above most that I have stayed in in the past. They are very friendly and willing to help.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vonzie Better than my first apartment, except for the sheets
The Candlewood in Albuquerque, NM was central to our business needs and to friends and family. It was quiet and in fine shape, except for hallway carpets--we learned they were scheduled to be replaced the week after we left, and they needed it--and the sheets, which were 45% polyester. We haven't stayed in a hotel in 30 years that didn't use all-cotton sheets, so this was unexpected. The hotel didn't have any all-cotton sheets, so we went out and bought some.
Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. The WiFi worked perfectly, the room was large and comfortable, the kitchen had plenty of useful items (only two sets of dishware, but that wasn't much of a problem as we didn't really entertain), and many more items were available to check out for no charge.
As residential hotels go, we'd rate this one as good value for money. I suspect the sheet issue wouldn't disturb most people, but I would encourage the hotel to invest in a few sets of all-cotton sheets for people who can't sleep on the poly-blend sheets.

Finally stop on my cross country travels. Couldn't have been more pleased with my stay. Only issue they had no control over- new carpeting going in and there was a heavy odor of adhesive in the hall ways. That couldn't be help and I would still recommend this property.

Best hotel for a low price that I have stayed in within the past 5 years.! Most lower priced hotels are that way for a reason. This hotel was modern, clean, free wifi, and comfortable beds. I would recommend this to anyone.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Chimera Lots of smells...
I stayed here for about 3 weeks while looking for a place to live after moving to Albuquerque on short notice. The prices were ok, but I would expect a little better for an older extended stay hotel with no pool.
There are lots of smells in the hotel. I am willing to bet that most of them come from the fact that it is a pet friendly hotel, and a smoking hotel. Upon check in, they will try to put you in a smoking room even if you booked a non-smoking room. The 3rd floor smells like an ashtray even in the hallways, and they keep the doors to the stairwells blocked open so the smells trickle to the lower floors. Most of the time the elevator smelled like smoke too since people take it to the 3rd floor and it stays there collecting the smoke smell until someone else uses it.
My room smelled like wet dog upon check in, and they had no other rooms available. After complaining, they sprayed air freshener, which just made the room smell like lemon-scented wet dog. It took about a week for the smell to dissipate to non-obnoxious levels.
The room itself was clean. There was no bugs ever seen, and the room seemed to be well kept. I was able to extend my stay an extra week, which was better than moving hotels too.
Overall, the hotel was ok. I would not return simply because of the smells, but I would recommend to others if you don't mind lots of strange smells. There were some nice amenities like free washers and dryers. TV channel selection was poor though with only 36 channels, mostly news and sports channels, not much with shows to watch.
I would seriously recommend to the property owners to rethink their smoking policy in the modern day and age where its looked upon as disgusting (especially indoors#. Additionally, it would be nice if certain rooms were designated as pet rooms #like the smoking rooms) so non pet owners don't have to deal with the after smells as were in my room.
