Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay We had expected clean, comfortable lodging when we booked our room, and Candlewood Suites, Amarillo exceeded these expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating; the lobby, breakfast area, and suite were spotless, but also very pretty. We couldn't get over the huge fluffy towels, and the bed was a treat. We availed ourselves of the high-speed internet and were immensely pleased. It was a most comfortable and pleasant stay, and the price was wonderful. September 12, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New facility BUT We have been to many of your Hotels. In all of them we found ease of access getting on and off the elevator, and doing laundry UNTIL we stayed at this one. Getting to the elevator with the narrow entryway and doors was difficult. We travel lots for business and pleasure, so always have lots of clothing. especially when we show horses. Our cart was loaded and it was very difficult to maneuver the cart in the narrow confines to get to the elevator. Than the same problem when we were on the floor of our room. Their was only one cart, which was another problem. Than, last straw, the washer and dryers wanted money. all of the other ones we have stayed at, where free. We were disappointed, and wont be staying at this one ever again. Sad thing to say, we always enjoyed our stays at Candlewood. We will find another hotel chain that wants our business and money that affords the amenities we are used to. We average aprx. 60 to 100 days on the road in motels. September 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What a HUGE disappointment! The air conditioning did not work in the first room I was in. Once they moved me to another room the key pad for the door did not work. I was told that "you need to put the key in and wiggle the key and door handle and it will open". It did but that's not what I'm paying for. Both of the rooms were filthy! Under the air conditioners and beds had not been vacuumed in a long time; dirt, food, guests personal items, ect. The walls were disgusting. You could see where numerous liquids had been spilt on the walls along with the furniture. The walls also had a lot of damage along with the tile in the bathroom. I would say that the rooms were trashed due to the high number of workers/contractors that stay there. They would walk through the hotel with their muddy boots and not a care in the world. I spend a lot of nights in IHG hotels and am pleased for the most part. This was my first experience with Candlewood Suites and if this is their standard then I will never return to this hotel chain. If it would not have been late and only a one night stay then I would have definitely switched hotels. What a disappointment! September 3, 2014
