Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good amenities / Great staff I was in Birmingham on Business for 5 days. Right from the start Lacey and Leah made me feel right at home. The entire staff was very helpful getting me oriented to the area and suggesting local restaraunts. And they had fresh flavored water every morning with a variety of fruits added. It was delicious! The room was comfortable and clean and the gym on hand was better then others that I have used at other establishments. In the end it was the level of service by the staff that would one, make me recommend this Candlewood Suites, and two make me choose them without question the next time I am in town. May 17, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Value & Service If I pay over $75.00 a night for a room, I expect the room to be serviced daily. The manager felt for me but did not lower the daily price. He said he would clean the room at our mid stay date but that didn't happen either. April 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No response to my emails, untrained staff I am an IHG Platinum member and whenever I stay at any of the IHG properties, I always receive a choice of either bonus points or a gift bag upon checking in. I asked the front desk whether I would receive any bonus points for being a platinum member (since I wasn't offered anything) and he said that he didn't think so and that he didn't know (he didn't offer to find out for me). I then emailed the hotel and after a week, still have not received a response. The hotel itself is fine, but the staff is untrained and the customer service is poor. Do not expect anything from this hotel for being a platinum member, not even the standard greeting of "Thank you for being a platinum member". April 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DON'T USE YOUR DEBIT CARD The rooms are comfortable and very spacious. If you choose this hotel please do not use a debit card. I stayed here at the beginning of this month. Due to the lack of skills on using the hotels computer the cashier put holds on my account for fours times the amount of my stay. I only signed an authorized a hold for the amount of my stay. These additional holds placed my bank account in a standing of being in the negative until the holds fell off. I had other transactions to come through which caused NSF fees that added up to be more than the amount the hotel would charge for a one night stay at the hotel. Trying to be understanding I informed the hotel manager/owner of the error and the problem it caused and she refused to do anything for me. She did not even offer as little as a complimentary nights stay at the hotel. I was very disappointed in the lack of effort to fix an error that was made on the part of their company. This hotel is very nice in appearance, and location. This was not my first time staying there but it definitely was my last time.Not because of the hotel itself but because of the lack of respect for others shown by the owner. If you choose to use this location or any other location please use a credit card or cash. They do not hold themselves responsible for just the amount you sign for and authorize them to place on hold. And they will not make efforts to fix problems they cause. January 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Next Best Thing to being Home My family and I have had several rooms at this New Hotel for several weeks and we Love it here. It's an extended stay hotel so the rooms have full kitchens, that has been very convenient for us. They also have two BBQ's and and something they call a Lending Locker that has a bunch of small appliances and games for guests to Borrow. Yes Borrow, they don't charge anything at all to use them And the Washers and Dryers are free to use too. It has a nice gym, bigger than i've seen at some places. There is even a little store inside so you dont have to go out if you don't want to. The people that work there are great, real friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay it's the next best thing to being at home. We'll be back . April 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressed! I stayed at this location for business. It was in a great location for a new hotel. This is a nice upgraded Candlewood Suites. I had a light go out in my bathroom. It a matter of minutes I was given a new room since it could not be corrected immediately. I was suprised at the prompt attention given to the matter. For that reason alone, I would stay here again. Check-in and check-out were flawless. I'm impressed! And, it costs less than it's sister Priority Club properties in the area. I've been a Gold member for three years and I travel almost every other week. March 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by new hotel - no hot water This is a fairly new hotel, the check-in clerk informed me that it was a green property. The beds & linens are fine. I woke at 4:30AM to shower & depart at 5:00AM. Shaved with cold water...turned on the ran cold water, and after 20 minutes it became lukewarm water. The desk clerk implied that I had no hot water because the rooms adjacent to mine were not occupied and he gave me attitude when I pressed him on the topic. The GM was not cooperative when I called her to complain. I spend 75 to 80 nights a year in a hotel, 60+ with the Holiday Inn group. I will not come back to this hotel. March 11, 2013
