Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Misme Love dogs, but some nights were like staying at a kennel
The place is quite clean and the staff is very friendly, but when faced with a barking dog issue from my neighbors across the hall, things didn't go well. I had complained a couple of times about barking dogs...loud enough to wake me at 1am, and to have to turn up the volume on my television in the evenings in order to drown out some of the barking noise. Each time I alerted the staff, the friendly staff said they would "knock on the door," but that did not stop the problem. All in all we had a lovely stay, but there should be a rule about bringing dogs and leaving them alone in the room all day long while they bark away.

Enjoyed the stay a Candlewood. Used grills nightly. Very clean property. Staff was friendly. Had our 19 lb. dog with us, with no problems. Room had everything in it you need to cook with. Bed was nice. Only problem we had was our toilet would back up. That is the only reason I gave my stay a 4 star out of 5. Will be staying at Candlewood again

We have always enjoyed our stays at the Candlewood Suites. We have had the opportunity to stay both with and without our pet. It is always clean, neat, and comfortable at the Candlewood. The front desk is always helpful and accommodating. Thanks for another great stay!
Only one adjustment is needed. Please replace the knob on the bicycle in the weight room. Thank you.

Well appointed room, nice TV, good AC controls, very comfortable bed, clean bathroom, quality sheets and towels, easy check-in and out, quiet - everything worked. Kitchen set-up was nice although we didn't use it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TravelingMomGeorgia Poorly Managed Hotel
I had made reservations over a month in advance of my daughter's graduation from USCB knowing that the weekend event would probably book most hotels quickly. We arrived a little after 2 pm and were told that our rooms were not ready but to return at 3 and they would be ready then. We did as we were asked and returned to check in at about 3:15. I was then told that the rooms were still not ready but should be in about 30 minutes. We decided to wait in the lobby. A gentleman appeared and apologized for the delay with the excuse that there were a lot of late check outs that day. I suppose he was a manger and he did offer us a complimentary beverage and snack. After 30 minutes we were told that the rooms were still not ready and they needed another 30 minutes. I told the clerk at the desk we needed to get into the rooms to change and get to the graduation and that we didn't have 30 more minutes to just wait. She was able to find that one of the rooms was ready and we could go ahead and check in to that room. She told me she would call me in the room when the other room was ready for us. When we left at 4:45 to go to the campus we still had not received a call about checking into the other room. We did over hear several of the housekeeping staff discussing their supply needs (they did not have the necessary supplies on hand to get the rooms ready for new guests). When we returned from dinner that evening I asked about the other room and was told "we were just waiting for you to get back". Saturday morning my son-in-law decided to purchase cereal and milk from the "convenience store" in the lobby, he was at first unable to do so because the computer was not working. We don't know why they were not able to simple record the items and then put them into the computer later. He was called back as he started down the hall letting him know that the computer was working and he could make the purchase. Saturday evening my daughter was in the hall when she encountered a small group of guests smoking an illegal substance. She went to the desk to report the incident and was told that it was simply too difficult (too much paperwork involved) to "kick them out" and the reported incident was not dealt with by the management. As we were packing up to leave Sunday we noticed that there were ants in the kitchen and had to throw away some of the food we had purchased. We also were locked out of one of the rooms Sunday morning as we were trying to vacate. We had to have the desk clerk open the door for us in order to remove all of our personal items.
The Good: The housekeeping staff was very polite and friendly. The hotel is quiet and although the beds are small (doubles) they are comfortable. The kitchens are fully stocked and we were able to cook a meal using the stove.
It is a shame that the hotel is so poorly managed. If not for the management it would have been an okay stay. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone unless there is simply no other choice.

I was very disappointed with the fact that during our 2 night stay the beds were not made up the entire stay. I could live with the fact that you don't get new towels each day, but coming back to your room after being out all day and the bed was not made, nor the trash taken out, was unfathomable. Even the low end motels make the beds each day. I always though Candlewood Suites were better than that. I guess I was mistaken.
Oh, and the bathroom floor still had spots of grout, which made the floor look dirty.

This is the most awesome hotel! The services are excellent. We stayed there for 6 days, never a dull moment.the staff were very courteous and very nice. This hotel is not only clean but very organized! The cupboard is fantastic but they need extra stuff like butter, sanitary pads, etc. they have a very beautiful kitchen and everything you need is there. There is a Walmart about 2 miles where you can buy your groceries and just cook in your own room. They also have a pet area for the dogs. There is also a farmers market in the highway and you can buy huge shrimps for only $8 /lb. the hotel itself is not in the GPS but do the Walgreens near okatie and the hotel is right there. The hotel is located in an upscale neighborhood; it is safe and very cozy. Will stay here again! It is the most awesome hotel we stayed!
They also have free laundry and gym. Our stay was the best!
Love hilton head!
They really maintain their standards. From now on , we will stay in this hotel wherever we go!

I will recommend your Suites to everyone I can. They were great. No problems at all. Great staff. Very Friendly and helpful. Everything I could have asked for in the room.
I want to say a special thanks for the popcorn left for us in the Microwave.
To anyone considering a place to stay when coming to attend Marine Graduations: Stay here. Its the same price and with no problems with traffic we made the trip in less than 20 minutes. Straight shot in and out on HWY 170. No problem IF we had been required to change the date. Night and Day from the "hotels" near the camp. A mini kitchen, two burner building hotplate, microwave, full frig with ice maker, great bathroom, bed,... everything we could want.

I love coming here. The grounds and facility are wonderful. Very clean rooms, with very comfortable bedding and sitting area. The bathrooms are large with great water pressure in the shower and bath. Very well stocked kitchen supplies and ample space to work and relax in. I have always stayed at this hotel and never had any issues. This time there was a wait to check in. Only about 15 mins. The staff was very friendly and doing everything possible to get guests in their rooms as quick as possible.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jackson30 Rooms was not clean, Staff not friendly
I was very disappointed when I found out that your rooom don't get clean to every 7 days. Your trash don't get empty, you don't get clean towels until you have to bring your own dirty towels to the desk. The beds suppose to be Queen and they are full size and the rooms are not suites. The staff at the front desk was very unfriendly and didn't want to accomodate you. It is just unsantized not to have your room clean each day.

Had an awesome stay at Candlewood. Very accommodating to our needs. Upon arrival, went in search of an ice machine for an icepack (drove 11 hours after pulling muscle in my back and could barely walk). Since the rooms have refrigerators with ice makers there are no ice machines. Unfortunately, there was no ice in ours. The front desk clerk went and got a pitcher full of ice from the employee break room for us. Wow! In addition, we were in town for a funeral that began at 11am with a luncheon at 1pm. No problem at all requesting a late check out so we could change clothes for our return trip home.

Recently stayed 12 nights while on a business trip. The experience was excellent. Staff was extremely polite and helpful.
Facilities clear and comfortable. Excellent laundry facilities provided. Excellent small kitchen with full size refrig. Nice area with many local convinces. Really met my needs well.
Rooms could be better ventilated. Could tell when people were cooking in their rooms. Also would have been nice to open the windows in the nice weather rather then listen to the somewhat loud air conditioning unit.
Over all though a good value and a comfortable place to call home while away from home.

Loved facility, but thought clean towels should be brought to room, rather than dropping off and picking up at main desk on the first floor.
Did not get credit for stay on my Priority Card Account. Send email inquiring about credit for my stay, have not received a reply.
No literature as to other facilities that honor Priority Card.

The location of the property is very accessible to the interstate. The room was clean and in good condition. It was nice to have a full size frig in the room. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to be able to use the gas grills the hotel has and to be able to use tongs that the front desk has on hand. I would stay at this hotel again on our next visit to the area.

We have been very comfortable staying here while we build our home in the area. We have been here for several months and have been lucky to get the suite with a kingsize bed. More king size bed suites would definitely be better. Everyone has really made us feel "at home" in our temporary home. We are really thankful that we found this convenient, comfortable and "pet friendly" hotel so close to our new home community. Would definetly recommend this hotel. The grills are great!

The location and suite was very clean, furniture and appliances were in great conditions. Our family enjoyed the stay, very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was that you are only provided coffee for one day, then you have to pay for additional coffee. Considering it was a great place to stay we dished out the buck and half for the coffee. Thank you, great stay, would definitely consider returning in the summer.

We recently visited during our trip to Parris Island for Marine Graduation. Such a nice hotel with generous room and bathroom sizes. The amenities we awesome (including the new grills that are there to use), and the distance was perfect for the several trips that we made to the Marine base. Many stores close by. They even let us check out a day early with no complications. Thanks for everything, I will highly recommend to all who ask!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MookieKat NIce, clean, and new...but, bit tight in space
It was nicer than any other Candlewood we stayed in, because it was new. The kitchen was very pretty with the granite countertops, but the stove was VERY slow in heating.
Overall, very clean and fresh, but the space was quite crowded in the king studio. It was quiet as well.
The mattress was comfortable, but the heavily textured waffled blanket felt very rough through the sheets, reducing the comfort level of the sleep experience.
Really liked the high vanity in the bathroom. Towels, because they were textured, felt rough....and they smelled like cigarette smoke and were not bleached white. They had a dingy look to them.
I had a mixed bag in terms of staff. The night staff on Nov. 2nd and 3rd were not very courteous or friendly. Perhaps this is their second job and they were worn out. That is the impression that we got. However, the day statt, namely Darlene, was very accomodating and cheerful. She made our stay much more pleasing. If it weren't for her, I would have given the staff a rating of 1.
