The only exceptional aspect of our stay at Candlewood was the staff. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond the call of duty with little support from management. 30 minutes to get a key to open the door to our room entailing going from our room to the front desk three times. We did not feel safe at this location. Bed was marginal. Bed linens were stained. No ice machine other than the ice made from the refrigerator in the room. The ice machine had to be turned on immediately upon entering the room, so one would have at least ten ice cubes by the following morning.

While the hotel offers no breakfast with your stay, it is the cheapest in the Polaris area and offers great quality. The room was clean and welcoming, and the staff was efficient and friendly.

The staff was friendly rooms were super nice and it felt like home. Very convenient location near to many restaurants and bars with the option to stay in as well. Nice pool area which was very relaxing.

Shower had hot water for about 30 seconds. The next 6 mins was a chiller! Makes one miss that hot shower handsomely once you realize you don't have one.
Some guest had all four washing machines taken. I got to the laundry room and all four were not only take but there cycles had completed. Waited around 20 mins and the guest had not come back. EXTREMELY IRRITATING Candlewood Suites guests! Lets be considerate of other guests. Look at the time you start your wash and if you are going to leave please return within 30 mins. Other people besides your selfish self would like to do their laundry too.

There were 5 of us that stayed here, it was a very nice hotel, the rooms were clean and I was very impressed. It was nice to have a full size refrigerator instead of one of those mini-fridges that most places have. I did not try the Candlewood Cupboard so I cannot comment on that.

This was out very first time at this hotel and in this area. The staff was very helpful. The room was spacious and clean, not to mention the kitchen we had in our room. This really helped with our children. We also went to the pool. It was clean and quiet. We were able to enjoy some relaxing fun time there as well.

Mean, rude, arrogant, ir-responsive and unprofessional front desk ( the girl who was in the front desk on 8/22 and 8/23 morning shift.
I was not given an invoice on check out, was told receipt will be sent via email. Refused to take the email from my Rewards profile, insisted on spell name, write email etc etc. Email did not arrive even after an hour. When I called again for the receipt, she was very rude again that I am asking for receipt second time. I sent an email to the reservation desk, no response till today. I called the front desk again and the same girl picked up the phone and refused to search my invoice using my rewards number, insisted I giver her name, email etc letter by letter. She was not at all interested in either doing her job or helping a loyal IHG customer. At last she agreed to use another email from my profile and I got my receipt after spending so much time on phone.
It was a surprise to find out there is no breakfast either.

I have stayed at this particular property at least 2dozen times however I won't be back. The boiler was flushed on Tuesday the 20 th which required the water being shut off from 7pm to 10:35 pm. A very inconvenient time for bathroom facilities as well as showering etc. the notice was put under the door at lunch time I understand. SinceI went to work that morning I did not know until I returned home at 6:55! Surprise!,!! When I asked the desk person the next day if many people were upset not only was I told No but Ii was told we gave everyone notice. If you did not want to put up with it you could have checked out! REALLY ? That is supposed to be customer Service. I asked the young lady's name that was working the desk Wed morning. And she would not give it to me. Finally when she did Iasked her how it was spelled and I was told I don't have to spell it for you..Enough said period. Terrible Customer service it makes me question if I shouldbe a platinum priority member with another chain instead of. IHG.

After having an awful summer we did a getaway weekend to Columbus. Candlewood Suites was just great. It was nice to have a large room where we could do breakfast in our room while still in our p j's. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Indoor pool was a little cool, but still had fun.

Upon arrival @ 5 pm for check in, room type reserved was not available and although staff did a super job to ensure a room was made available and requested room type was provided when available I did not want to listen to specifics on why the room was not ready.
Alarm clock function to set accurate time not readily recognized and when requested information to set correct time, gentleman at desk stated he would come to room and set. After waiting about 45 minutes I went to front desk @ 10:45 PM and he said "Oh yes I did not come and set the clock". This was inconvenient as work agenda required an early wake up.

REAL clean full service rooms great outdoor setting to enjoy with gas cookers. the pool closed a little early for my enjoyment. butt clean and inside . nice great places to eat with in walking.

Good hotel for the value but I had an issue w/ being charged an additional night. I was checking my credit card statement & noticed the charge. Somehow they thought I stayed 2 nights when I registered online for one. I called the hotel to get it resolved. Just waiting on the credit to show up on my statement.

Tried to get our room switch from smoking to non smoking which some how got booked that way we booked on line. Spoke to hotel numerous times but their system was down. Spoke to the manager who assured me wouldn't be a problem to get it switch. Called back two days later left a message and never heard back. Went to check in and what do you know but we still had smoking rooms. The hotel was sold out and were unable to get non-smoking rooms. Just thought it was bad follow up by the manager. Still would stay there again it was just frustrating

Good value. But allows smoking . We had a non smoking room but adjoing room person smoked in hallway outside his room. Wd will avoid hotels that allow smoking.

I am a professional traveler and have statyed at many hotels. The staff at this Candlewood has to be one of the worst I have every been at. And this is not a short term issue since I have stayed at this Candlewood several times for an extended period of time for the past couple of years. If this was not the preferred hotel for my company I would not stay here. They never recognize priority club memebers, I have asked for them to email my check out receipt to me at least three or four times and I always have to call back or ask again, and the internet speed/quality is very poor.

The TV and several lights did not work when we got to our room. When we called the front desk they gave excuses. We where going to leave but they said someone would be right up to address our issues. One hour later still no help. I called again and they offered a discount and said someone would be right up. Neither happened.
Upon check out I ask about discount they said they would verify with night help the issues and aply discount for inconvenience. That still did not happen.
Check other properties around this area. Less expensive and I am sure more honest about the quality of the room.
When traveling through this part of New York. Look for some place other to stay.

We stayed at this location for one night this past week. We chose the this hotel for the location (Polaris is a wonderful area) and the amenities it offered. Travelling with a toddler, the full kitchen and the in-room DVD player were both very welcome. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. That being said, I'm glad we only had to spend one night there. I'm not usually too picky about beds. In fact, I usually sleep great on hotel beds, but these were torturous! By far the hardest, most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on in my life! After a late evening, and not sleeping well at all on the bed, we were hoping to sleep in; however, at exactly 8:59 the chorus of *knock knock* HOUSKEEPING! *knock knock* HOUSKEEPING! began throughout the hallway. It sounded like there were 10 people outside knocking and yelling. It was loud enough to wake us up (and keep us up). We had left the "do not disturb" sign on our door, but our door was knocked on not once, but twice. I mentioned the problem to someone at the front desk and the said they would speak to their manager about it immediately. All in all, if you're looking for somewhere inexpensive for the night, this place will work just fine. Not sure I'd stay here again, though.

We visit the Columbus area often and usually stay at another Priority Club location which was booked so we selected this location. This was our first stay at this property. It is good for families with small children. The DVD player in the room was a nice feature to calm the kids down after a busy day and a nice swim.
With the kitchen amenities it is great for extended stay but we usually stay one or two nights so we prefer the other property.

For my 21st birthday, I wanted to host an intimate sleepover for four of my close friends. I wanted to stay somewhere near Polaris Fashion Place because it offers so much: great food, excellent shopping selection, and various recreational establishments. Candlewood Suites was the PERFECT bang for my buck! It was so easy to book a weekend online, the front desk staff was very informative and helpful, my room was quite accommodating with it's queen sized bed and spacious pull-out couch, and everything I needed (late night eating, last minute supply shopping, etc.) was either at hand, or nearby. My birthday celebration couldn't have gone much better, and I owe most of it to Candlewood Suites. I'm looking forward to staying there again!

We have used Candlewood Suites many times, most recently in CA and Ohio when we had stays of several days. Candlewood is great for these stays. Recently in OH we had a problem. We were on the second floor and had a lot of luggage due to the fact we were on a 37 days road trip. When we went to check out there were no carts available for us to use. We checked for an hour and there were still none available. As a result we both had to make at least four trips to the car carrying our luggage. We checked at the desk and we were told there was nothing they could do if people kept the carts in the their rooms. This was not only an inconvenience it was a lot of work. Our next trip to Columbus we will probably not use Candlewood Suites which is too bad because other than this we really enjoy staying there.

Since it is self catering your breakfast is up to you or you can go across the road to Mimi's Cafe and get a great meal.
Room comfortable, standard facilities and weekly cleaning. In some ways it is good to come home to a room just as you left it and you are confident noone was messing with your stuff.

We were only there a few hours, but the room was way more than I ever expected. Staff at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful, they were able to let us check in early on a Saturday morning due to our busy schedule that day. We were with the Off The Hook and Three Ton Toad group for a St. Paddy's day party. I would highly recommend Candlewood Suites to anyone that needed a home away from home, but not wanting to go too far from home. The price is worth the stay

I appreciated Polaris Candlewood Suites' flexibility , by allowing a late check out. The front desk check in was quick and friendly.
I found my room sparkling clean, with the exception of the bathtub. I was easily able to remedy that using cleaning products available in the room.
The pool area was well-maintained, but the whirlpool was disappointing - extremely weak jets with tepid water.
One big drawback for me was the noise factor. The very thin walls allowed me to hear every voice and door shutting in the hallway. Noise from other guests is, however, a frequent occurrence at any hotel.
What was even worse was the housekeeping noise, which started at 9am. Loud shouting of "Housekeeping!", door rapping and blaring music (played by housekeeping staff) was unacceptable to me.
I used the two door magnets provided, which specified "Do not disturb" and "Quiet Please, Catching Some Zzzzzs"". While my door was not knocked on, the "Quiet Please" was to no avail. This caused my stay to end on an unpleasant note.

what started out as a good value, positive experience is turning into a disappointment.
I stay here for 2-4 days every month, what was once the occasional annoyance/disappointment is quickly becoming the norm/expected. this stay was the worst - with a slow and impersonal check in to no remote control for the TV, to hair on my pillowcase. I am now less than enthusiastic to stay here again.
I will be moving my 'regular' stays to another location after this experience.
