Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Customer service excellence During our stay there was a tornado alert in the area (one touched down in Salem, AL about 25 miles away) and we received a call at 5 a.m. from Martha who was on duty. She suggested we come to the mechanical room near the front desk for safety as the tornado siren had just gone off. We joined other hotel guests and Martha was excellent. She made sure we were as comfortable as possible - offered chairs, blankets, water, etc. As soon as the alert was lifted about 6 a.m., she informed us and sent us back to our rooms. But not before saying that she would continue to monitor the weather and call us again if there was another threat. This was only our second stay at a Candlewood property, but we certainly would stay and recommend the brand again. May 10, 2014

I left a pair of shoes there and noticed a week later and when I called, they had them stored in the lost and found for me. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. I thought with the low price, the room would be lacking in amenities. How wrong I was!! Staff was courteous and thoughtful; room was exceptionally clean and stocked. We did not want for anything. I found all of this to be provided at the Candlewood estates in Columbus, GA - Forth Benning. I really appreciate everything that was offered and provided. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. The kitchenette was well equipped , the staff were very friendly . Pretty good location, there is a grocery store, mcdonalds and other fast food restaurants near by. It is very close to I-185 and a skip to Fort Benning. I highly recommend this hotel. March 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Where was the internet This hotel is not really all that bad as far as a place to stay, but if your there on business and need internet like I did then please go some place else. It seemed that the internet went out about every 2 minutes, when I asked the young lady at. The dest she said that the provider was there on Friday and I asked on Tuesday so you can see my pain. There were reports that I had to file and also taking a college class on line is very difficult because as soon as I log into my test I would get booted off. Terrible internet and for someone like me I depend on the internet to do my job. So like I said it your just staying one night not a bad place, I have stayed at better hotels, but any longer than a night I would check someplace else. March 18, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stuck on the elevator! Upon arriving, I noticed that the outside of the hotel wasn't very appealing. Once I went inside, it was much more pleasant. While on the elevator with another family who was taking their towels to the front desk for an exchange, because they said they had to take the old towels down in order to get new ones, we got stuck on the elevator! While waiting on help to arrive, my husband was able to pry the elevator doors open. Needless to say, I was hesitant to get back on the elevator. It was ultimately repaired and we were able to se it later. Other than that, not too bad of a hotel. Pricey! November 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A delightful experience Not sure what I expected, but OMG,,,, it was not this. This place exceeded all my "normal" travel accommodation standards. Full size refrigerator with an ice maker, a 2 burner cook top, a full size microwave and a full sized DISHWASHER, fully stocked pots, pans, dishes and glassware. I was totally blown away with the "bang I got for my buck". The bathroom was clean and spacious as was the rest of the room. I liked the fact that they did not do daily maid service (but towel trade in was always available and for extended stays it is provided once a week) and that allowed me to leave my stuff out without fear of it growing legs and running away. The only drawback is a personal preference to ME and I like the dark when I sleep. I was located on the 3rd floor facing the back parking lot, though it was very quiet the parking lot security light illuminated the room. The very nice drapes they have are pretty but not functional. They do not close.. Like I said, this is an issue I have with the need for darkness when I am asleep, it is nothing against the hotel or their outstanding accommodations. November 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Marathon Stay I was down for the weekend to participate in the Soldier Marathon. I had a wonderful experience staying at Candlewood. It was my first visit! The only issue I had was noise from the room above. It was not the quality of the hotel, just a rude customer who wasn't being considerate of others around. The noise was an issue. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet and comfortable My husband and I stayed at this location for our nephew's graduation from Ft. Benning. We found the hotel to be conveniently located, clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a studio queen size room, which was fine for our overnight stay. If you were staying for a longer period of time, it would be better to have a bigger room for 2 people. The recliner was hard to close, but, otherwise it was a comfortable room October 28, 2013

When you walk in the front door you are greeted with a pleasant scent .The rooms contain a full size refridgerator, microwave, stovetop with cooking equipment, dishes and silverware. There is also a seperate floor for guest that smoke, as my husband does, I so not smoke and the rooms did not have the usual smoky odor. Enjoyed our stay very much, will stay again October 23, 2013

I had seen some mixed reviews a few days prior to us arriving and was nervous about what I would find. I couldn't have been happier. The place is immaculate! The rooms are spacious and clean the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The cupboard was a wonderful addition for snacking or a small quick meal. I will be staying here again next month for my son's graduation and I am looking forward to another wonderful visit. HIGHLY recommended!! October 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Son's graduation The room smelled of pet urine, the doors were scratched up and the laundry basket was chewed up. Obviously some didn't clean or inspect the room before we stayed. The bathroom door wouldn't lock. No room service during our three day stay, the pool was dirty and nobody is ever at the front desk. Just a sign to call for someone. Additionally, the location although close to Ft. Benning is not close to anything else. You have to drive 15 - 20 minutes for any resturant besides McDonalds. The area is also a little seedy - dont go out after dark. Additionally, they only have one elevator that is terribly slow if working at all. October 2, 2013

The room was nicely appointed but I requested a two bed hotel room and got one and there were no other rooms available, the room was small, and the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.Overall my stay was disappointing and I'm glad I only booked a one night stay. For the price of the room and the wonderful space and cleanliness, you can't beat it. Having a full size refg., microwave, dishwasher and even plates and eating utensils,....just WOW. The room is well equipped and the ice-maker in the fridge was nice addition. I was able to make use of the exercise room and pool and it was just nice. I highly recommend Candlewood Suites. I have written only a few complementary reviews during that time, With over 200 days a year in Hotels the FT Benning staff and property is the best I have ever stayed at BAR NONE! CJ runs a great staff and is a valuable asset to your company. Lacy is excellent also and recently helped me with a billing issue that could have been troublesome. She made the problem go POOF!
