    TV did not work correctly for entire stay

    I checked into the Candlewood Suites around 2030 Monday night. The FD Associate had me as a regular member (not a platinum member) so any chance for an upgrade was negated by my late check-in time. Once I informed the FD Associate I was at the Platinum level (and showed her my card) I was then asked if I wanted the Welcome Points or gift and choose the welcome points (which posted 3 days after check-out as I had to remind the FD at check-out). Also, during the stay, my TV did not work at all for the first 2 nights of a 4 night stay. I reported it right after check-in and Maintenance came to my room but could not fix the TV and said it would be fixed the next day on Tuesday. I reminded the FD the next morning and it was still not fixed when I returned from my job Tuesday night. I reminded the FD again Wednesday morning and again not fixed so I called the FD that evening as I wanted to watch an NBA game. Maintenance came back and said I could change channels and volume (only partial channels available) on the side of the TV as no remote control would work. I reported it for the 4th time on Thursday morning and again nothing was done. At checkout on Friday morning, I reported it for the 5th time to the FD and was told the GM would call me on my mobile number (which I gave to the FD). Even though the TV only partially worked for half the stay, I could never watch local news for weather

    Not all too bad however not nearly a boutique hotel or full service hotel. No daily housekeeping services, no lobby. Entrance is a "motel like" setting

    Melinda at the front desk is the epitome of professionalism. I stay in hotels 15-18 nights a month for work and I have to say that I very rarely encounter someone with as much compassion for their job and their guests. She was competent, efficient, polished, educated, proficient, compassionate, empathetic, helpful, courteous, and a true ambassador for the IHG brand.
