Since I travel a lot and had that problem in other hotels too, I was very happy to be able to help myself now! My dog and I will certainly come again :) February 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Winter Stop over for me I've stayed here several times before. The property is only 300 miles from my home and at other times of the year, I would push on to El Paso or Las Cruces. In the Winter, especially with the radical weather swings, I play it safe and add an extra day to my trip West. The hotel is very well run, the staff are great and the facilities are comfortable. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Everthing was Above excellent, until... My first stay at Candlewood was on 12/28/13. I was impressed from the very start from the reservation to the check in at 3:pm. Our room was great, it had everything we needed and was spotless. All was great until we returned to the room to retire around 11:00 pm There were several vehicles with trailers parked sideways across 3 to 5 parking spots, along with some contractor pickup trucks parked right down the middle strip taking up 2 packing places with no consideration for other guests. I went to the front desk and advised there is no where to park. The ONLY options that were given was a muddy field across the street or to park on a street behind the building with NO LIGHTING and was not monitored along with some cars parked and some undesirables drinking alcohol. I came back in and advised the front desk neither was safe for myself nor my 9 month pregnant wife. I advised her 5 vehicles collectively were taking up 22 parking slots and the only reply was "this is an ongoing problem" I stated I was going to park in front of a dumpster, as this was the only safe parking place available. We were told that Candlewwood would not be responsible if my car was towed. I asked the front desk "what about the other vehicles that were all illegally parked? " the reply was she did not know what room there were in so she could not tell them to move, nor have them towed. The following Monday at my request the site manager called me and I shared my concerns, I shared how other hotels check license plates and enforce improper parking for consideration of all guests. She assured me this will be addressed going forward and vehicles with trailers will park in appropriate places along with guests who are inconsiderate to others and improperly parked. She assured me there will be someone to enforce this. I am one one who believes in second chances is I will attempt another stay next month, we shall see... January 4, 2014

A great room, with comfortable double beds, a lounge chair for tv viewing and a great kitchen area with a full fridge, microwave, stove, sink and dishwasher (dishes, utensils and pots included). Home away from Home! In a great location off of I-10, with access to Big Bend region or continuing onto El Paso. January 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel in Fort Stockton Great place for pets and family! Reasonably priced, reasonable pet fee, comfortable and quiet rooms. Seems to cater mostly to people working in the area. If you need a place to stay in the middle of West Texas or while travelling down Interstate 10, I would recommend Fort Stockton and the Candlewood suites. A nice touch; we forgot something in our room and the staff immediately contacted us and mailed the item to our home. Thanks guys! December 14, 2013
