Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible Dedication to Cusotmer Service What could have been a bad experience turned into a really good one based on the amazing staff at this hotel. Unfortunately, upon my arrival, there were no non-smoking rooms available. The staff was extremely apologetic and did everything they could to compensate me for the inconvenience of having to stay in a smoking room. They went over and above in their efforts to make sure I left with a good feeling...which I did. Separately, I left a phone charger in my room and another staff member went over and above locating the charger which I was able to pick up before heading back to the airport. Thank you so much for doing everything you did to make me feel like a valued customer. May 26, 2014

I had room 340 and tried getting it again but it was already booked. I ended up with a handicapped room on the first floor with no bathtub. I'm in the Army Reserves and love to take a long hot bath after a day of tedious drill. Also the air conditioning between the air conditioner and the bedroom looked like it was homemade. There was a box that sits atop the wall unit that diverts SOME of the air to the bedroom because the bedroom didn't have it's own AC. There's no way to shut off the AC to the living area and have all of it go to the bedroom. Thought for the future. Those are the only things that bothered me about this room. Room 340....PERFECT for me!!! Room 103...not so much. May 8, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 One of the worst Candlewoods I have stayed at. The whole issue started when I arrived I was not greeted as platinum status and given any arrival bag or points. I then got into my room and the first thing I noticed was a large bundle of wire that was the phone wire and internet LAN wire all tangled up on the desk. I then noticed two large cig. burns on the blanket that covers the bed. I do know I was in a smoking room, but that should have been replaced, no one wants to see that, it made the whole room feel "cheap and dirty". I was there on points, so no money out of pocket but I still wish I had kept my points. I stay in hotels 355 days a year and this has become the worst IGH hotel I have stayed in. I would suggest more care be taken in the upkeep of your romms. And as a side note, the prices you charge for items in the cupboard (3.00 for a small bag of chips?) are way over priced. Nothing wrong with wanting to make a profit, but your prices are way higher then any Candlewood I have been to. Chris April 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Short stay before flight We stayed at this Candlewood Suites in mid-March. We had a 5:45 AM flight, and did not want to get up at 1:30 AM in order to catch this flight. We arrived late and left very early, and did not use any of the amenities, so I cannot comment on those. We did find the room comfortable, the staff very friendly and courteous, the bed comfortable enough (especially for a 5-hour sleep), and the room rate very affordable. The only issue we had was that the room could have been a little cleaner. The bedspread had a couple of small stains (although it had appeared to be cleaned), and some of the grout had some hair on it. Still, overall it was a very satisfactory stay, and I would recommend this Candlewood Suites hotel to others looking for a stay close to the Columbus airport. March 23, 2014

Everything is always great except this time they kept our card open and our card was charged erroneously and we had to contact them to have charges reversed which was very inconvenient and ended up resulting in overdraft fees on our account, however, we understood that it was a big event weekend and that mistakes can be made. Will not deter us from staying here again and have already made reservations for next year. March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome! My friend and I fly out of CMH instead of Pit for a lower airfare when traveling west!. We were interested in Candlewood due to its advertised free parking with security/canine, proximity to CMH, as well as a low rate cab fair to the airport. We were not let down. We experienced true hospitality during our stay and the location / homey atmosphere was comforting. The laundry/fitness facilities a plus should the need arise and I used the fitness equipment while the laundry was in process! Oh and did I mention the room rates and comfort. Thank you Candlewood for your hospitality...we are planning a return stay this August! February 28, 2014

Very pleased with the room layout - queen suite with separate bedroom, living space with recliner and sleeper sofa and fullly stocked kitchen. Requested quiet location - stayed in non smoking room 210 - very pleased. Free internet and laundry - quite a savings. Décor was contemporary and clean - staff very friendly and helpful. Close to restaurants and grocery. Great value for the money - recommended it to multiple friends and family. Will look for Candlewood Suites locations on our next vacation to other states. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home Away From Home I have been traveling for my job the past 14 years all over the US and Europe. The past 4 years I have been working in Ohio. I started working in Columbus at the beginning of this year and after trying a few hotels I stayed at the Candlewood in Gahanna. This is the nicest and most comfortable hotel that I have ever stayed in since working in Ohio and the best overall in recent memory. The rooms are spacious and feel more like an apartment rather than a hotel room. They all come furnished with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher. There is also a large L shaped 90 degree desk that is perfect for working in the room. Each room has a 40" LCD TV with DVD/VHS player and a selection of movies at the front desk you can rent free of charge! This is a huge plus when you don't want to watch TV after a long day or on weekends, you can just relax and put on a movie from downstairs or from home. The beds are extremely comfortable and hard to get out of in the morning! Above all this, what separates this hotel from all the others is the customer service which is second to none!!! The front desk staff is the sweetest, friendliest, kindest, most accommodating and most professional group of people I have ever seen. I have been here the past 6 months#I go home every other wknd# and they always go out of their way to make my stay enjoyable! Easy check-in, attentive staff when I needed them, check out was a breeze and the room has everything you need for comfort and convenience. It is also near restaurants, a grocery store and far enough away from the airport and the interstate that there are no noise issues. It is a little hard to find, but if you use the directions from the hotel's site you will drive right to it. Would recommend it for anyone who likes a room with a microwave, refrigerator, free internet and a comfortable bed! October 4, 2013

Not what you would typically expect at an extended stay motel. We were able to use our IHG points which was a great bonus! The area felt very safe with a mix of residential and offices. I just left another Inn in which I paid almost 3 times the price and their room could not match the overall excellent room of the Candlewood Suites. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO AC - Walked in and left - Still charged me We stayed here before and after our honeymoon. The pictures online did not truly tell the story of the quality of the rooms. Before the honeymoon: Trash from previous guests was not emptied and the room just felt dirty. We stayed for the night, even though there are far better options right across the street. After the honeymoon: After the 12-hour travel time to get to Columbus, we walked in and immediately the same dirty feeling hit us, accompanied with a room that hadn't been cooled in at least a day or so. I immediately tried to get the AC to turn on, to no avail. It was faulty and required maintenance. However, we had finally checked in at around 12:30 AM. All other rooms were booked, so we could not switch rooms. We left and drove home (getting home around 4AM) under the assurance that we would not be charged for our room. 10 days later, the charge is still on my account. Do not stay here unless you're a worker looking for cheap rates. The only good thing is the lady at the front desk was nice about the issue. August 15, 2013
