Have never in all my traveling encountered someone nicer and more accommodating than Olly. We will definitely be coming back, all due to him. Normally we want to be "On the Beach", but learned this location was SO much better, truly a peaceful, quiet location with everything we needed. A GREAT stay! October 9, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great expectations in Galveston, Texas At first I was a little hesitant about staying here when I realize that this hotel was further in from the beach than I thought. But within one minute of checking in I knew that my sister and I made the right decision to stay here. Ashley greeted us at the front desk with a warm smile and a willingness to make sure our stay here was to be a memorable one. When we asked her where the nearest Catholic Church was she admitted to us that she didn't live on the Island but would find out for us. Within 20 minutes (or less) she went online and found two nearby churches for us. Along with their phone numbers just in case we needed to call for the hours of their services. Kelly who took over the night shift was just as helpful. When we tried to access the Internet to check on our cruise we found that the Internet was unavailable. It didn't take her long to find the problem, fix it and have us on-line in a matter of minutes. And whenever she saw us, coming or going, she made sure to inquire if we had everything we needed and let her know if there was anything she could do for us just to let her know.. These two ladies gave the perfect "first impressions" that we look for when checking into hotels. Our room was spacious, clean and didn't lack anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. September 4, 2014

The rooms are always clean and comfy and if I ever needed additional cleaning or items there was no delay. The internet is a bit slow, but I appreciate their efforts to try to keep it going. Ashley (?) was our attendant upon checking and was the most courteous young lady that I've met in a long time. The manager was also very helpful and friendly. Tithe room was very clean and relatively quiet for a pet friendly motel. We will go out of our way to stay there again! August 17, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO SERVICE, but clean comfortable rooms POOR, POOR, POOR Like pulling teeth to get something like a sheet and a blanket. Little store they had did not carry milk. They said they were out but still none the next day either. I'm on vacation...I do not expect to have to do all cleaning and carrying trash to trash recepiitcle outside myself, etc. This facility left a VERY BAD TASTE in my mouth for a place to stay. Definitely WILL NOT recommend this facility in Galveston to others. July 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, good service Visted Moody Gardens with my family. The stay at the Candlewood suites was nice. There is also free washing. Target and other stores right across the street. Had a suite by the poolside. Hotel not to far from the local attractions. Would recommend this hotel to others. A lot of the other hotels in Galveston are pricey, but this one was affordable. If in the Galveston area again would stay at this hotel again. Brought food so my family and I was able to cook. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay in Galveston We enjoyed the Candlewood Suites. It is right off the highway as you come onto the island, but we did not hear any traffic noise--our room was on the back side. Most of the staff that we dealt with were really great. Unless you are a walker, it is tough to get to attractions from here without a car. I did walk down 61st Street to the seawall and it took me 40 minutes. Not a bad walk, just hot. We bought groceries at the Target next door, so that was convenient. July 17, 2014

Due to the fact it is not so close to where all the noise is on the island, she was able to sleep for a long time. Ali and the young lady who worked in the evening was very courteous and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. What also made the place convenient, there is a Super Target within walking distance. July 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shabby and rude employee We stayed one night on June 5, before leaving for our cruise the following day. The shower head in the restroom was broken and taped to the wall. The water was cold, so we couldn't take a shower. We complained to the girl at the front desk (Shelly) about these issues. She was so rude and when we asked to talk to a manager, she said there wasn't one. We told her to at least give us a discount for the inconvenience and she said we had to pay the full price, which was $250. At that price, we could of stayed at a presentable and suitable hotel. Save your money and stay somewhere else. July 14, 2014

Also, maybe checking to make sure that the sinks don't leak or the table is sturdy inside the room. But overall, I would stay here again ! July 5, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not thrilled about the hotel I was ok with the hotel not offering complimentary breakfast since it's an all suite hotel. But the kitchen needs to be properly stocked with the essentials. There was only one fork and one spoon. The rest were knives and cooking utensils. When I called the front desk the first time, they were supposed to call me back to let me know but never did..and it was too late to go to the store and purchase plastic utensils. I called the front desk the following morning and they informed me that they don't have anymore silverware available. So the following morning, my daughter and I had to take turns to eat breakfast. When we came back at the end of the day, my room was not cleaned and the towels weren't replace. I contacted the front desk and they told me that I had to come to the front desk and exchange my dirty towels for fresh ones and that housekeeping only cleans the rooms once a week. So if you're looking for basic hotel service, I suggest staying elsewhere. May 30, 2014
