Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO SERVICE, but clean comfortable rooms POOR, POOR, POOR Like pulling teeth to get something like a sheet and a blanket. Little store they had did not carry milk. They said they were out but still none the next day either. I'm on vacation...I do not expect to have to do all cleaning and carrying trash to trash recepiitcle outside myself, etc. This facility left a VERY BAD TASTE in my mouth for a place to stay. Definitely WILL NOT recommend this facility in Galveston to others. July 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, good service Visted Moody Gardens with my family. The stay at the Candlewood suites was nice. There is also free washing. Target and other stores right across the street. Had a suite by the poolside. Hotel not to far from the local attractions. Would recommend this hotel to others. A lot of the other hotels in Galveston are pricey, but this one was affordable. If in the Galveston area again would stay at this hotel again. Brought food so my family and I was able to cook. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay in Galveston We enjoyed the Candlewood Suites. It is right off the highway as you come onto the island, but we did not hear any traffic noise--our room was on the back side. Most of the staff that we dealt with were really great. Unless you are a walker, it is tough to get to attractions from here without a car. I did walk down 61st Street to the seawall and it took me 40 minutes. Not a bad walk, just hot. We bought groceries at the Target next door, so that was convenient. July 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Night Sleep and Courteous Staff My wife who needed a good night sleep was able to get one due to the Candlewood. Due to the fact it is not so close to where all the noise is on the island, she was able to sleep for a long time. Ali and the young lady who worked in the evening was very courteous and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. What also made the place convenient, there is a Super Target within walking distance. July 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shabby and rude employee We stayed one night on June 5, before leaving for our cruise the following day. The shower head in the restroom was broken and taped to the wall. The water was cold, so we couldn't take a shower. We complained to the girl at the front desk (Shelly) about these issues. She was so rude and when we asked to talk to a manager, she said there wasn't one. We told her to at least give us a discount for the inconvenience and she said we had to pay the full price, which was $250. At that price, we could of stayed at a presentable and suitable hotel. Save your money and stay somewhere else. July 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel The overall stay was good. The staff was very friendly. A few things could be done w/ the grounds to make it a little cleaner looking like mowing the grass. Also, maybe checking to make sure that the sinks don't leak or the table is sturdy inside the room. But overall, I would stay here again ! July 5, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not thrilled about the hotel I was ok with the hotel not offering complimentary breakfast since it's an all suite hotel. But the kitchen needs to be properly stocked with the essentials. There was only one fork and one spoon. The rest were knives and cooking utensils. When I called the front desk the first time, they were supposed to call me back to let me know but never did..and it was too late to go to the store and purchase plastic utensils. I called the front desk the following morning and they informed me that they don't have anymore silverware available. So the following morning, my daughter and I had to take turns to eat breakfast. When we came back at the end of the day, my room was not cleaned and the towels weren't replace. I contacted the front desk and they told me that I had to come to the front desk and exchange my dirty towels for fresh ones and that housekeeping only cleans the rooms once a week. So if you're looking for basic hotel service, I suggest staying elsewhere. May 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable And Friendly I stay at this hotel everytime I'm in town for business and I really do love it. The manager Ali has been very easy to work with and is always extremely friendly to me and my employees. The rooms are always clean, there are plenty of free cable channels to browse and the hotel is located in a place very convenient to access off the highway where you don't have to deal with tourist traffic. The cupboard could use a little improvement, but there are plenty of places nearby to get cheap food and drinks so I usually blow past it. I would recommend to all my friends and co-workers to stay here. You really can't beat the price for quality!! It's a no brainer. April 8, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware Extra Fees Stayed here because it is a pet friendly hotel. Was not advised of the $75 pet fee until checkout. Requested late check out after a 2 night stay in 2 rooms and was charged ~$50 per room, even though the hotel was not anywhere near capacity. Toiletries included only a shampoo and conditioner in 1, and bar of soap. No lotion, etc. Was planning to stay again this weekend but definitely will not. February 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Stay at a Candlewood Ever Avoid this hotel - staff was poorly trained; we waited more than 20 minutes for someone to arrive at the front desk to check us in. Once we were in the room, we found that the TV didn't work. We called the front desk and were told a call would be placed to the maintenance person. After waiting another 20 minutes, I went to the front desk to follow up; I found out that the maintenance person was not working. Finally, the lady at front desk moved us to another room. When we got to the new room and turned the furnance on, it produced a horrible smell. At this point, I gave up discussing items with the lady at the front desk. February 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pets policy, did not know I have stayed at this property several times. Due to my own fault, I was not aware that Candlewood Suites allowed pets as part of there policy. As I am a 1-2 night guest , I regetfully have to say I will find my accomadation elsewhere. 2 doors down from my suite was a medium size dog, a family pet. The animal did not bark constantly, but loud randomly, which did not giving what I was needed, undisturbed sleep. Mr. Ali and staff are always frindly and helpful, and the property is always clean and well kept. Just not for what I need as a single nite resident. Thank You for the good days and nights I did have. February 7, 2014

If there was any additional request made it was done. All areas graded were as stated. You cannot get any better for the level this facility can provide. Your management was above excellent for us. We will stay at the hotel again for sure and also other Candlewoods if this is what we can expect. We were there for @ 60 days and that is really long enough to give a real evaluation. Thanks to all at this hotel for making our stay what it was. It made being away from home much better. January 4, 2014

Amazing Staff here at this hotel is wonderful people always eager to help you for every thing from setup the wifi connection to offer you to transport you to the restaurant in their own vehicle, cupboard is sorry looking but they can manage to supply you if you need some thing, rooms are nice and clean and fresh, location is very good for dry port.
