I stayed at this location for a week on business. I was very impressed by the staff and their helpfulness. The room I stayed in needed some help. The sink was separating from the wall, there was obvious signs of wear, the couch had stains on it. They could use a business center and faster WIFI

Love staying here, rooms at a great price. Smells like smoke in the hallways sometimes. Front Desk seems understaffed, yet did very well attending to guests. Will be back

I stayed at IHG properties many times before. I needed to find something in OC that's reasonable and since I am a member of the IHG club and the rate is reasonable so I opted to try Candlewood out. The Garden Grove location is iffy at best, maybe that's why the rate is OK. I stayed there for 3 weeks and the first 2 weeks they put me in a room the AC did not work. After repeated request to fix on the first week, it never got fixed. When I returned on the second week, it's the same problem. Both weeks, my room smelled very bad. I have to hold my breath when entering my room and then get used to the smell before I can breath again. Although the front desk staff is super nice, I have left messages for the manager to contact me to correct the situation, none did. By the third week, I was used to the torn furniture and the smelly room that I don't really care anymore. Overall, it's not a hotel where I would recommend anyone. I'm sure if you do a little research online, you can find a better place.

I would recommend a colleague staying at Candlewood Suites when visiting the Garden Grove area. In fact, I would strongly consider staying there again myself when in the area. It was a good value for the price.
The room was clean and offered all the comforts of home.
I might suggest some additional training of the staff. While all are friendly and helpful, we got LOUSY directions from the Long Beach Airport. (Of the four major directions, three were entirely backwards.) Also, just because there is money out in the room, doesn't mean it is necessarily intended for the housekeeping staff. If I meant to tip them, I would have put the money with my note asking for soap, toilet paper and shampoo. As a result, I did not tip upon checkout.

Very friendly staff at the front desk. My room was ok. when I first walked in I noticed that the desk chair was clawed up and the DVD/VCR player was broke where the vhs would go in. Some of the Dishes were dirty and the towel rack in the bathroom fell when I grabbed a towel. Floors in the hall looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a few weeks. On about the third day of staying there a very strong cat urine smell started to show itself. Overall it was a ok hotel with ok rates. Honestly expected more.

I love everything about your hotel. Your hospitality is great! All my experiences for my guest have been great. I love hosting my guest and special speakers with you. Most of the staff is very friendly. I recently had a guest stay there. The only thing I would change is getting policy changes ahead of time. That would help make our business easier.
For example the $50 deposit that is being enforced is a procedure we had never went through before. And this last time I hosted a guest, I had to go back to my office in Irvine to pick up extra finances. So it through my schedule off.
Other than that. I will always host my guest at candlewood suites.
And kudos to Lisa A. for always being so helpful, prompt and attentive! She's the best.

This was a holiday weekend so the hotel was very busy. As a frequent traveler, I make sure to properly check out the room upon arrival. I found the room was in much need of attention and inspection.
The kitchen had only one spoon and NO coffee mugs. There was also no iron and the bathroom sink looked like it was ready to fall down. I guess it goes with the shower soap dish that had already fallen down and was stuck in the handrail. Obviously, housekeeping does not check or replace missing items. Really a shame that no one bothers to thoroughly inspect the rooms. (Staff did quickly respond to the request for an iron and mugs)

Ms. Ayde at the front desk can remember my name, my last visit was months back. We were received smiles and welcome greetings from her.
Nice place, we prepared chicken with mushroom soup at the kitchenette in the room. It was wonderful experience.
We will come back when ever nearby.

I had to change room 3x to finally get a room that have a working tub & sink drain as well as a working thermostat/temp control. Staff seems to be really too busy to handle even the most minute request. We even went to the front counter ourselves just to get clean towels that were non-existent in our room and they still couldn't give us any.

good concept split my res into 2 due to over booking said needed my personal card to hold room even though I am paying with my company card ended up with 2 charges non my personal card and was charged on my company card as well no return call from mgt I had to dipute charges just a note our company spends close to 500,000 in hotel bills per year and was consierering using this location as it is close to our garden grove office we will go back to la quinta santa anna too bad all mgt needed to do was be pro active and returne calls or speak directly with me not telling the desk person what to tell me

The stay was very enjoyable. It was very clean and the front staff was very accommodating. The only drawback was the shuttle service to Disneyland was not for this hotel it was for the Holiday Inn Express next door. And the cupboard was a not as stocked as other Candlewood Suites I have stayed in. Would stay here again.

Perhaps I made the mistake of coming to this property after trying 2 others in Illinois and Michigan, which were exceptional. By comparison this property was BAD. Upon arrival, the bathtub was FILTHY black, with what appearred to be animal paw prints. The a/c leaked all over the room, and stains on the carpet were still damp. Several other issues were apparent, but of course any staff that can adequately address these issues are gone at 5pm, so I had to scrub my own tub and live without a/c for the night.
The next day the management tried to address these issues, by making me move to another room (after I had moved in for a 6 week stay). So away I go to another room. Then, for reasons I can't figure out, the manager asked me what kind of compensation I wanted! As if that's my job! I suggested only one thing (a room upgrade), which was flatly denied, so in the end I wasn't even paid for my services as a maid!
I cannot recommend this Candlewood, especially for business travelers, and families going to Disneyland? It is a roll of the dice. The location is iffy at best, and truth be told there are better hotels in the area. I won't be back (I moved to a new Residence Inn in Tustin), and am MUCH happier. Things haven't been perfect, but when they have gone wrong, management steps up.

My husband and I enjoyed our last stay at the Garden Grove Candlewood suite. The hotel was close enough to shops, Angels' Stadium and easy access to highway 22. The front desk staff member, Ayde, was very helpful and made us feel welcomed. Although the bed was a little squeaky, the room suited out needs.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We came for a family vacation for 10 days. Loved the complimentary parking, staff was friendly and went beyond to help us with our needs, complimentary laundry facility and the candlewood cupboard is awesome. It was great to go on vacation and feel like your at home and not in a hotel. Will definitely be staying here on our next trip!

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby, facilities, and rooms were very clean. The location was central to everything we needed. The rooms were updated and provided us with everything we needed to be comfortable. We will be staying at a Candlewood from now on!

My wife and I felt very warmly welcomed and found no problems other than not enough towels the first day but found all we had to due is go up to the front desk and ask. The cupboard had some short comings. More food maybe.

Enjoyed kitchenette and suite with nicely renovated room. We only stayed one night due to extended travel, but would recommend for weekly stay. Accomodating staff and friendly service. Excellent value!

this is my 4th time staying in a candlewood hotel (2nd time at this particular one) and I have enjoyed each stay. It's so convenient and inexpensive. I love that there's a full kitchen. That is the plus for me. And for longer stays, there's the laundry area. Candlewood is my home away from home! Thank you!

Extended stay that ended mid December and returned for another extended stay yesterday. I travel on extended stays frequently, my last stay was so wonderful, I'm back again!! I am very discerning when my comfort and cleanliness are at stake, therefore on those points alone I would recommend this establishment, however, the staff are truly what sets this extended stay apart from the rest. From the electrical/maintenance engineer to the domestic goddesses along with the front desk receptionists,i.e."problem-solvers", all staff offer to help customers with any situations that seem to arise unexpectedly when you are away from home. The staff seem to treat you more like friend/family, and are willing to make sure your stay is not only comfortable, but also enjoyable! On site laundry,(free!),
gym, BBQ grill, along with free WIFI and HBO, make this an excellent value!! Priority Club free nights,also! Now, if there was only a pool!!!

I've stayed one night a few times and for many weeks at a time, too. It's in a terrific location right near the Orange Fwy Interchange--for catching various freeways (5, 57, 22)--yet you don't hear the freeway at all. I just loved that! Disneyland is closeby (about a mile) yet there's NO related commotion or traffic from it. I like that a lot b/c it's fun to visit D-land but crazy to be around.
The studio room is a home-away-from-home that's perfect for my needs with a complete kitchen with full-size refrig. and large desk-area with ample room for my laptop and work space. A laundry and fitness-room are included and those are great plusses. It even has an outdoor bbq area. The staff is great. I've traveled a lot and this particular hotel is the best value I've found anywhere without losing quality at all. You can find slightly cheaper motels but the sacrifice in quality just isn't worth it IMHO.

I travel a lot for business and have become a fan of Candlewoods in general. This one, however, is a notch above- recently remodeled rooms, well-maintained property, and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall comments are good. Front Office staff were great in their interaction wish us. I would ask that the hotel management install sanitizers for the fitness room though and ensure there are towels available as well.
