Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by On the Road again We were greeted by a very nice associate at the front desk. The hotel looked very nice on the outside, and was relatively very clean on the inside. Overall we had a good experience at the hotel. We were just a little surprised that the hotel seemed to be built very sloppily. The doors in our room didn't lock or close, namely the closet and the bathroom doors. They seemed like it was a rush job by whatever contractor did the job. More of what you'd expect at a cheaper motel. August 10, 2014

This location was in walking distance to an Outback Steakhouse (a favorite of mine when I travel overnight). Location was convenient, clean and comfortable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Property I was very pleased with our rooms. I had a 1 bedroom suite and my 2 colleagues each had their own individual rooms. Beds were very comfortable. An extra touch was the popcorn ready to pop in the microwave. Brandy at front desk was by far superior to any front desk clerk I have met in my many travels. Very helpful and cheerful. The "cupboard" for our breakfast and on the road snacks was fully stocked with everything we could ask for. As a well seasoned travel agent I was surprised at the quality, cleanliness and friendliness of this jewel. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone going to this area. The closeness to the Outback and the Arnot Mall was an added bonus. Keep up this continued professionalism and quality. This hotel is a STAR!!!! July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay While we only stayed for one night, all in all, it was a pleasurable experience. Karen at reception was wonderful. She was cheerful and helpful. That set the tone for the stay. The only issue that we had was with the air conditioning/heating system. It was quite difficult to regulate the temperature. I'm not sure that I like the "motion detector" sensor setup. This was the first time that I've seen something like that. Most other hotels use the key card method to sense whether the room is occupied or not. Something for consideration July 19, 2014

The place itself AOk. Well managed and the suite very nice with TV, furniture, desk kitchen, refrigerator. I liked the commissary with honor system for a bagel 24/7. July 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service but bugs!! I stayed there for a month for business reasons. I received great customer service and the staff are very friendly. One unpleasant thing was that there were a lot of bugs in my hotel room and it was not cleaned thoroughly prior to my stay. I am deathly afraid of spiders, so encountering them in the bathroom was not my favorite part. And I am missing my bracelets, which were there before leaving for work, when i came back, the bracelets were missing. Other than that, I think the staff is very genuine and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone especially those are family oriented. July 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by confortable, clean and friendly associates We stayed at Candlewood/Horseheads for the second half of our annual vacation, picking an area to really travel thru. This was our first time with Candlewood and what a pleasant surprise...from the little welcome package to the personal note from the manager and the fabulous room with everything we needed for a week's stay....it was like living at home. After a day of sightseeing, my husband was happy to get back to put his feet up in the lounge chair, grab a soda from the fridge and watch TV. We had everything we needed and if we needed more towels, soap etc all we needed to do was ask. Everyone there was so friendly ....we loved it and will be looking for another Candlewood when we do our next adventure. Great job people! July 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful home away from home! This was my first time in a Candlewood Suites hotel and I will definitely use them in the future. Having a kitchen with all kitchen supplies there (or available to borrow) was great, and the Candlewood Cupboard was terrific, allowing us to purchase items for breakfast and snacks right there in the building. We were also impressed with the wonderful staff who all, without exception, were friendly and helpful, no matter what time of day we saw them! June 30, 2014

The staff was very accommodating with a late checkout due to the graduation as well as making sure all our needs were met....from the front desk to housekeeping! One of the members of the party was a diabetic that had to keep items cold and eat regularly so the kitchen suite was a great thing to have...we will stay there again as I still have one more in college in the area! Our room and bathroom were clean, towels were a very nice size and weight, linens were quality, bed was very comfortable....and we liked it so much that we stayed a second night to continue the local touring. We only stayed 2 nights but would have preferred having fresh towels changed in the room daily. We were able to get new towels at the front desk without a problem, but from a convenience standpoint, we do appreciate maid service. Other than that we found the facilities of Candlewood to be very good. June 5, 2014

But after arriving we did not see any other major hotels closer to the Watkins Glen area. If we had to stay a second night I would have asked for a different room with perhaps a newer mattress. It was difficult and I can sleep on the floor with no problem. But we endured and had a nice time visiting the wineries and Watkins Glen. June 4, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service! I am a bit of a road warrior and I must say this hotel provided the best customer service I've experienced. My flight was delayed, so I called to let the hotel know that I was going to be late. When I arrived at 4:00 am, the front desk agent was expecting me and quickly checked me in. When I asked for a recommendation for a taxi for the following day, the agent arranged the taxi for me. A few days later when I asked if there was a shuttle to the airport, the manager drove me herself. Wow! I'll be staying there again on my next visit to Horseheads. Also, the bed was comfortable and the cupboard was very convenient, with a nice selection of personal items and breakfast items. May 18, 2014
