I am glad I gave this hotel another chance. I had a much better experience this time! The staff was SOOO friendly. Thank you Walker for upgrading me :) As a platinum elite guest I felt appreciated here. They had a nice dinner reception with chicken sandwiches. The room still did have that humid feeling but much better than the last room I was in. Thank you again to the pleasant staff!

This is definitely not thebest Candlewood I've stayed at in Houston. After the 3RD ROOM I was assigned (1st was still dirty when I walked in, 2nd had a big odor remover machine buzzing away) was still not to my liking I was a bit frustrated but was tired of moving from room to room. This room had the musty smell & feeling as stated in a previous review. It was very humid feeling unless I turned the ac down very low. The bed was nice. The remote/dvd player didn't work properly. The staff was nice. The cupboard was stocked & the gym was OK. I have a reservation in a few weeks here & am really hoping for a better room this time. I have never had a problem getting an upgrade at Candlewood but was told NO at this property again & again even though when I did a search saw rooms available. I will try 1 more time but am a little weary.

There was a bad smell throughout the hallway of the hotel. Some mornings coffee was not available at a reasonable time in the morning. As I have stated before about IHG properties, they are going downhill fast. Hotel was empty, and upgrades are still not available. Just a mediocre experience here. One of the ladies at the front desk, was really nice, if not for her, lower remarks about this hotel. Being a platinum member with IHG will not benefit you.

Room: very damp, musty smell, no ventilation, AC must be on 65 before enough moisture can e eleminated. Hope you don't mind sleeping in a freezer!
Amenities: Morning coffee: poor, breakfast-go across the parking lot and buy it at Waffel House??
Stay again: never!!

We often stay in a Candlewood when we travel to Houston to see my grandkids. They stay with us and swim in the pool. We had never stayed at the property before but the ones we preferred were at a much higher rate this time, so we decided to try this one. 1st room air conditioner would not start cooling no matter how low you adusted the temp on thermostat or a/c. 2nd room air conditioner was cooler but thermostat did not work and adjusting at a/c was useless (also smelled like dirty sweaty feet)! 3rd room smelled mildewy. I was told no other rooms were available so I had to choose. I chose room #2 and was given two cans of air freshener to help with the dirty feet smell. Using them about every four hours did knock back the smell for a while. Try having your 34th anniversary with your menopausal wife, without the ability to adjust the a/c.
I was never offered another accomodation while there, no one tried to remediate the smell or fix the a/c. When I checked out, I spoke to the operations manager who said "I'm sorry" and gave me my bill.

I have stayed here several times.
I have found it to be clean and quiet.
Staff have always been friendly.
It is a little hard to spot from the road. The entrances are not well marked.
