The workout room is not robust by any means, but it'll get the job done. Plus there's a pool, hot tub, food in the Candlewood Cupboard, and laundry is free.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HMR84 Its Houston and its hot and its super hot in room!
This is my fist visit to Houston and I am staying with family (three suites) two of the suites had humidifier in them when we checked in at 11.30 pm. The room was hot! We could have easily baked a pizza in there! We had a early morning engagement and we all were tired driving long distance. We are in here now, its nearly an hour and the bed is still hot, pillows are and everything else too! I am not sure what these guys think? Its summer and its Houston! If any of you are going to plan staying here, make sure you guys request not to have humidifiers in your room or atleast make sure they are removed well before you checkin.

The staff were kind and courteous....great people! The room was impressive. My only problem was I couldn't figure out how to work the temperature control....which I could have consulted staff but didn't because it was late!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Roadtripper99 Very Pleasant Stay
Stayed for a week. The facility is well located with easy access, though Houston traffic is always a challenge! I found it surprisingly quiet. The temperature control system worked very well. The kitchen tools were sufficient though of course the number of plates, glasses, and flatware are quite limited. There is a Target nearby for groceries and other supplies. The pool area and spa were nice. The employees were always very helpful. A big surprise to me was a full dinner they put on Wednesdays. It was spaghetti during my stay but the menu can change. The food was great and I was stuffed! TV channels were adequate and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again when business takes me to that area.

As budget hotels go, this is tied with the best other one I've experienced and I've stayed in many brands (100-150 nights a year for last several years#. Well appointed small suites and excellent features #free laundry, newspaper and WI-FI, on-site convenience store, 24/7 free GOOD coffee, professional staff, very clean overall, great location). Downside is rate structure only favors long term individual stays and does not give credit for total stays/year. If staying less than one week I'll have to go rate shopping unless they change this.

While staying at this hotel last week, I encountered a very helpful guy in the night shift named Sang. Even though it was late at night around 3 AM, he helped me with tv problems and brought me towels that I needed. He was very courteous and helpful.

The only problem was the only way to get fresh towels each day was to take the use towels to the desk and exchange them for clean one. I would like for someone to put clean towels in the room each day. Everything else was great

I was in town and working hard and since the weather was nice I was getting in quite a bit of golf too. I was counting on the jacuzzi to help me recover to do the same on multiple days. I was very bummed that the jacuzzi didnt work and reported it to the desk. The next night the front desk said it was fixed bit it wasnt fixed. The water was only about 85 and it needs to be at least over 100 degrees and the bubbles never did turn on.. dont tell me it's fixed when nothing was done.

I stayed at this hotel last week for 2 nights. When I arrived in the room it was 80 degrees. It took the AC all night to bring the room to a comfortable temp at a slow rate. I went to a business meeting from 7 AM till 3 PM. I hung the "DO NOT DISTURB" magnet on the outside of my door. When I got back to my room, there were 2 DEHUMIDIFIERS in my room running and the AC unit was shut off. It was a smothering 86 degrees inside my room. What don't these people understand about DO NOT DISTURB??? It took hours again to get the room nice and cool.
I didn't trust the staff. Did not feel comfortable thru the whole stay. Will not be back to this hotel...

This Candlewood Suites is very convenient to the Beltway/Sam Houston Tollway and I-10... There are a myriad of eating establishments very near by.
This is one of the few with a pool, and that was very refreshing during the hot summer time! I was however disappointed the hot tub was NOT hot. After a long day of work, that would have been very relaxing.

I practically live here. The staff greets me by my first name, recognizes my voice when I call, and made sure check in and out was swift. One time I was short on cash and they even borrowed me money! Their staff are winners indeed, stay here and you won't regret it.
Safe place, comfortable bed, and convenient location. Highly recommended!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MsT2013 The room did not meet my expectations.
The leather chairs in the lobby had torn leather. The pillows in the room were less than presentable, un-inviting and too soft. the bedspread had a stain on it. The room smelled stuffy. Overall, the room appeared to have cooties. This in not a 4 star hotel. Having the owners picture on the wall in the office did not help matters. I immediately left after checking in. I was told by the attendant that the manager wanted to speak to me and that he would be at the hotel in about 5 to 10 minutes. I waited 10 minutes and he never showed up. I asked her to have him call me and I have not received a call to this day. I would not refer this hotel to anyone. It was more like a motel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mchan1 Candlewoods Suite, Westheimer Rd., Houston 77042
Stayed here for over 30 days for both bus. and personal matters.
The hotel is very tricky to find as it's located behind a Sonics drive-in restaurant and you'll miss the entrance driveway since it's the same as the Sonics driveway entrance. There is a side driveway entrance on Hayes St. behind a Bank of America branch.
Staff is very polite and helpful.
Hotel is relatively small with 3 floors and had decent parking in front and in back. There's a small swimming pool and small sauna in the back of the hotel. You'll need a passcard to enter the hotel and for the bus. center and other rooms. Security appears to be decent using the passcard system and surveillance cameras surround the hotel.
Lobby is very small with a few chairs, a table and a HD TV. Business center is a small cramped room with 2 PCs, though only 1 is connected to a printer, not both.
Room was on the 3rd floor, initially with a Queen bed then switched to two double beds as I had relatives join towards the end of my stay.
Room was musty and had to be deodorized with disinfectant spray several times. Housekeeping comes ONLY ONCE a week on Wednesdays so clean the rooms yourselves until then! The housekeeping do vacuum but the rugs NEEDS to be shampooed and deodorized!
The mattresses need to be replaced as the middle of the mattresses don't provide much back support (Sealy mattresses as used as noted on a pamphlet in the rooms). You may have some restless nights of sleep due to the lack of support from those mattresses.
Kitchenette is small but nice. Cooked a couple of times at night and it was convenient to also have a refrigerator and microwave along with utensils and plates.
You'll have to buy your own sponges to clean, though.
You can ask for towel replacements from the front desk staff. Either bring the old towels to them or dump them in the laundry area basket.
The rooms are relatively quiet though sometimes you will hear noise from your neighbors if they're loud enough at night or in the mornings.
Internet access is included with your stay though the speed is acceptable as it can be slow at times. You'll be given a username and password which is replaced every Friday so don't forget to get it.
Their fitness center is very small with only an elliptical, a treadmill and a weight machine. It's connected to a small laundry room where the machines are free to use but you'll need to buy own laundry supplies. It's great to have a place to wash and have clean clothes on extended stays ;)
The hotel is conveniently located on Westheimer Rd. which is one of Houston's main road going from the City of Houston on the east side to the west towards the suburbs. The hotel is located just outside of I-8 (aka Sam Houston Highway), the outer ring, as it's also known locally. The location is on a strip mall area surrounded by various stores and mostly chain restaurants and market stores.
Note that outer Houston is not really a walking city... heck, Houston is not known to be a walking city unless you live downtown, but you can walk to various stores from the hotel but be careful since traffic is heavy and some street corners do not have the pedestrian walking signals!
The hotel doesn't serve breakfast but holds a get-together meal every Wedn. night ~5:30p-7p where a basic meal is served along with drinks.
The hotel is a good place to stay due to its location and friendly staff. It's relatively affordable and you don't pay sales tax if you stay More than 30 days, though prices could have been lower if you were staying that long.
The hotel should deodorize each room and rugs often and replace their sagging mattresses frequently.
