Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Felt like home away from home What stands out in my mind, more so than the niceties of the suites, was the friendliness of the staff. Every morning, noon, and night they would greet me as I walked in. Instead of a simple "hello", they said "welcome home". This made a big impact of my spirits while staying there. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding service, furniture upgrades overdue I stayed in Irving, TX. The suite type I booked wasn't available at checkin, but they found a lesser suite at a lesser rate until one was available. The suite was clean and roomy, but the furniture (except for the recliner) was uniformly uncomfortable, unfortunately including the hard bed. The stove was anemic, taking 20 minutes or so to boil a pot of water large enough to make pasta. And I could have wished for some non-fluorescent lighting. However, the staff was very attentive and responsive to any request I made (and I made several) during the course of my stay, the free laundry facilities were sufficient that there was little contention for them, and an unexpected change in my schedule was handled smoothly. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend In Irving I stayed here over an August weekend for a sports and fitness competition going on at the nearby Irving Convention Center. As I needed to prepare my own meals, I was looking for a hotel with a full kitchen near the Convention Center. By and large, the hotel met what would be expected for this level hotel. Rooms look like they have been updated recently. As such, the bathroom was clean (clean grout on the floors and bath/shower tiles), as well as the kitchen area. Some of the work seemed a little shoddy -- the cabinet doors in the kitchen for example were loose and one was crooked. One of the chairs in the room showed a lot of wear and tear, but otherwise, the furniture was in good condition. I stayed on the 2nd floor not too far from the elevator, but the room was fairly quiet, so that was a plus. Staff at check-in/check-out was friendly. Room had free wi-fi, which worked the whole time without issue. August 21, 2014

My last stay was with an extended stay type hotel and proved to be a horrific and terrible experience. The Candlewood Suites are located across the street, so I decided to stop in and ask to see a room. They gladly showed me two different rooms and they were exceptionally better. So, I booked my next stay there on the spot. Several weeks later, I checked in and they remembered me. Not only was my room completely spotless and clean, but it was comfortable and the staff went over and above to make me feel at home. I will definitely continue to come back. August 18, 2014
