Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice room We stayed here as this is where a wedding block of rooms was reserved. We didn't know it was a suite with kitchen. That was a pleasant surprise. Overall the room and staff were excellent. We did, however, miss having a breakfast provided. Because we were not there for an extended stay, we didn't want to cook. August 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place I recently made a permanent move to Jefferson City and needed a place to lay my head while house hunting. There is only one extended stay in JC and few hotels of any flavor that allow dogs, so choosing Candlewoods, who fit both bills, from the choices I found on the internet prior to moving was a no-brainer. It took me longer than I hoped to find a house, so I was here for several, several weeks. My observations in a nutshell: - For an extended stay, I was surprised there wasn't a restaurant or meal service available, to include a continental breakfast. True, as an extended stay, each room has it's own little kitchen, so maybe that's the brunt of the reason why. And they DO provide a free dinner on Wed nights delivered on folding tables in a slow cooker. And after a long day at work and longer day still of house hunting, I did start looking forward to Weds. Eating out for nearly every meal for that much time was getting OLD! Free beer and wine from a box too. Can't complain too boisterously overall. And the final option for food in-house was the Cupboard-- a wee little room with HoneyBuns, a cooler of drinks, etc ready for purchase. Still would LIKE a continental breakfast, if I were to go back and stay again. - I can't say the bed was my favorite. I dunno if the one I had just run it's course, but it was uncomfortable and after about a week, I started waking up with a lower back ache. After a couple of months, I was sleeping in the recliner in the room with better results. I never mentioned it during my stay, so I never gave the staff the opportunity to fix it, which I'm sure they would have. - The staff-- what a great crew! In my time I got to know several by name and would feel all right gabbing with any one of them at any time. Really glad they were there during my stay! - And my final, major note: the business center. Ummm, could do with an upgrade. Because I was looking to purchase a home, a lot of paperwork was being sent, filled out, and returned. I tried to get the scanner to work a couple of times, but ended up abandoning it and using the one at work. Not my ideal answer, but I had to get things moving so I could, well, move. If I had to pick another hotel to stay at with my dogs, it would be Candlewood... if I were staying in a hotel by myself, I would entertain and research the idea of going elsewhere. So, not overwhelmed with it, but certainly not displeased either! Thanks Candlewood JC! August 3, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I'll be back. I would recommend CANDLEWOOD SUITES to anyone. It is tough to find a "pet friendly" hotel but CANDLEWOOD SUITES eliminates that problem. A little more details of how the "CUPBOARD" operates and a softer mattress and firmer pillows would be nice. July 3, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best stay this time. I usually stay at the Candlewood when I come the Jefferson City at least once a month. This time was the second time no recognition for being a platinum member at this Candlewood when I checked in. The couch in the room was so disgusting looking I had to cover it with a blanket. Also, lately the exterior doors are always being propped open by rocks. Not a feeling of security. The last few stays at this location have been disappointing but this last stay was the worst. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 4 plus weeks home away from home I just spend the last four plus weeks in your hotel in good comfort. After waiting for a room to open, it was a pleasure to find an extended stay in Jeff City. I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite; it makes a big difference when spending so much time away from home. The front desk staff has been very friendly and helpful (Jake in particular). The area is very convenient, 10 minutes from downtown, close to all the shopping you would need, across from YMCA (great place to work out) I like the free laundry (need more washing less dryers) and the ability to borrow various kitchen appliances; it makes it easier to do some real cooking. The room was comfortable and quiet. To make it perfect, a larger counter and an oven would be nice. One negative, the persistent smell of smoke inside my room, even after using an ionizer, spray with deodorizer and opening windows, and my cooking nothing seam to work; the rugs and fabric need to be steamed cleaned. I will be back after the holiday. Keep up the good work. December 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable Bed Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Woke up every morning with my back hurting. I finally checked out and went to another hotel after 3 nights. The walls are very thin. I could hear everything next door, from the guests opening their refridgerator to them opening drawers and cabinets. The staff was always nice and friendly. They only clean the rooms once a week. If you need towels you have to bring your dirty towels to the front desk and they will give you clean ones. If you need toliet paper you have to go to the front desk to get this as well. I don't like that at all. I like clean towels everyday and I refuse to go to the front desk to get them every day. They give you three towels for a whole week. Really? I would not stay at this hotel again and I definitely would not recommend it to anyone. November 18, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad, but not that great, either. This Candlewood is maybe the best hotel in town, but that says more about Jefferson City than the Candlewood. Rooms were pretty clean, the hotel is generally quiet. All in all, not bad and a good value. Major gripes: absolutely horrible WiFi, it basically stops working from 5 to midnight, forget streaming. The mattresses are old and saggy, putting memory foam on top of a bad mattress doesn't fix the problem. The televisions are small and you can't turn them as they are mounted to the wall. The owners need to spend some money to make this place nice. August 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room 132 needs a new bed The "extended stay" hotel offers great bbq and picnic areas in addition to free movie rental with rooms that are equipped with DVD's. Wednesday's also features free food and drink night. However, room 132 has a bed which had lost all of it's support and although comfy, by day 3 my back was killing me. It's a week later and the improvement is still really slow. I almost saw my doctor but I feel fine otherwise and not sure it would help other than getting pain medication. Anyways, the hotel staff and facilities make an honest attempt to keep your business and the kitchen was well equipped. Unfortunately, the bed was so far out of acceptable, I would not stay here again, even for one night. I travel quite a bit for work but have never had that experience. Management should re-evaluate the condition of their mattresses. I asked for a different room on the last night but they were saving those for would-be customers. They installed a pillow-top bed topper thinking that was going to help stiffen the bed. Not quite. My back was hurting too much to move. June 19, 2013

The staff is super friendly and nice and they went above and beyond to help me get accustomed to a new place and settle in well. The room storage would depend on the type of room you are getting. In a studio the space is pretty compact. In a 1 bedroom, the space is pretty nice and was great for my needs. It is a very safe environment and they have a nice updated movie DVD collecitons May 30, 2013

There's nothing worse than standing on dirty carpet around the kitchen cabinets. I will definitely stay there any time I'm in Jeff City. March 15, 2013
