Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MJ005 Excellent value. VERY close to the City
This hotel was an excellent value. It was very close to NYC. The view from our room was of the new World Trade Center. It seemed like a very safe area. There were evenings that we were coming home from the city late at night with 3 kids and felt extremely safe walking from the PATH to the hotel. There was hardly any traffic. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit the city! The only thing is that the kids wished that there would have been a pool.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel five times in the last four years during our visits to New York City. The value is exceptional, the hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and go out of their way to accomodate any requests you may have.

Excellent choice for a visit to NY City. Clean, neat recently renovated and it looks it. Rooms are large, comfortable and fully appointed for a short or long stay. The staff is friendly, courteous and efficient. I highly recommend staying here if you want an economical alternative to staying in a hotel in Manhattan.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by John182 Great place to stay when visiting Manhatten
My girlfriend and I stayed 5 nights as we visited NY. the train to NY(called the PATH ) is a 2 block walk to the Newport station. We bought a week pass for $26 and came and went as we pleased. There is also the light rail that runs in Jersey City just outside the rear exit of this hotel that is also easy to use. There is a secret to using it but you will have to find that out on your own from a local. The hotel was very clean, with a full kitchen which we like for coffee and breakfast in the morning and snacks for the evenings. Cleaning was not everyday it is on scheduled days which I liked because I find having to get out of your room for the maid a pain most times. The only negative I had was when the front desk told me to get off at the Essex stop for the Statue of Liberty they didn't explain the walking to the ferry at the end of Marin which is important. We got off at Liberty State Park stop and walked which is a good 20 minutes where as the Liberty ferry
at the end of Marin takes 2 minutes and then a 5 minute walk to the Statue of Liberty Ferry. All in all my experience at this hotel was very good and the price was way cheaper than staying in Manhatten.
