    A Dissapointment

    I previously stayed at a Candlewood Suites in Temple, TX and I was very pleased with their service. So when I had to travel to Killeen for an extended stay for work, I immediately thought of the Candlewood Suites. Unfortunately I was highly disappointed from the start. When I arrived for check in, I was told the only room they had available was a smoking room, I reserved a non-smoking room but the front desk staff insisted I reserved a smoking. I informed her that she was incorrect. She asked which website I did my reservation on and I stated it was the ihg website, that is when she proceeded to express how they always tend to screw-up peoples reservations. So for one night I slept in a handicap accessible room until they had a clean non-smoking room available. The only non-smoking room they had available was right next to the smoking rooms. I could smell the smoke almost every night even after I put towels next to the door. I was told when staying a certain amount of days that room service only comes after the 5th or 7th day. I stayed a total of 10 days, 9 nights with absolutely no room service at all. I called to check when they would service my room and I was told the next day, upon arriving from training that night, I came back to an un-serviced room. I called the front desk to see what the issue was, no explanation was given as to why they "missed" my room. Every time I went to the front desk for clean towels, I was told to come back later because none were ready. Also, with the room there seems to be a problem with the electrical sockets, sometimes my phone would charge and sometime it wouldn't. When I attempted to watch a DVD, the DVD player stop mid movie and would not come back on. I reported to the front desk and was told a work order would be put in #this was on day 2# however nothing had been done about it. I had to move the DVD player to a different socket to get it to open up so I could get my DVD out and once again it cut off within 60 seconds of turning it on. Overall I am highly disappointed with my experience and honestly if it wasn't for the experience I had in Temple, TX I would never stay at another Candlewood Suites again. I will not stay at this location again, frankly I would rather pay to stay on base in the barracks.
