Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice suite The suite was clean and roomy. We enjoyed our stay and we were impressed with the nice kitchen! It had a full size fridge and freezer. Don't be afraid to bring food. The only annoyance was the placement of a chair with castors because you could not move it easily over the flooring. They have both laminate and carpet in the suite and the chairs could not be rearranged because of lack of space. They had a recliner on the other side of the desk/table so we could not move the chair but it kept getting stuck on the flooring. Oh well. Very nice room. June 9, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had multiple room reservations for my staff that was in town for work. Many hotels have difficulty keeping the reservations in order and confuse who should get checked in to which room. The hotel was very easy to work with and did everything I asked of them. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average place to stay. Disappointed that ice maker took about 6 hours to make enough ice to use and there are no ice machines. Not enough utensils, dishes or glasses (only 2 each). We were there 3 nights so we had to keep doing dishes. Clock radio didn't work. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. March 21, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a very good experienve. Not a king bed. Room was built for a king, but a queen was used, and only one end table. In the 'Cupboard' there was no orange juice for 2 days. How can you not have orange juice? The main hall way remodeling was not cleaned up, and sheet rock scraps left all over the place, as well as sheet rock dust. December 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of 'Upgrade' We recently stayed two nights at hotel we were suppose to have 2 beds and a pull out sleeper for our family including children. We were 'upgraded' to a room with one bed and a sleeper that tilted downward into couch. Although the one bed was comfortable be cautious of upgrades my children fought and were uncomfortable. No other options existed since there was a football game in town. We were visiting sick family not a holiday so would have been nice to have what we reserved. December 4, 2013

It was Thanksgiving weekend and the staff was so friendly and helpful from getting us a rollaway to providing extra towels. I especially like the free laundry facilities and the honor system 24 hour store. The location was very convenient for us as well. December 2, 2013

Our blow dryer didnt work but a woman from housekeeping brought up a brand new one still in the box . Very nice woman friendly and helpful. Didnt care for the pillows , also asked for a top floor room but they may have been booked already . Overall decent stay the staff was friendly which is most important to me. November 19, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT CENTRAL LINCOLN LOCATION POSITIVE: FRONT DESK & HOUSEKEEPING STAFF -- very pleasant, cordial, friendly, helpful INTERNET -- very good; best it's ever been in the years we've been staying here NEGATIVE: FURNITURE / CARPETING -- some worn, stained, dingy; nothing changed in several years that we've been staying here. An update would be refreshing / cleaner. LAUNDRY ROOMS -- the second and third floors used to have two laundry rooms, one at each end. This was a great feature for extended stays of a week or more. However, this amenity is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Major disappointment. SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT -- unfortunate that this hotel still allows SMOKING. Although only the fourth floor is reserved for SMOKING guests, the smoke odor tends to linger in the elevator. Also, smokers tend to congregate at the entrance and likewise use the back patio. So, if you open your windows for fresh air (and to cut back on air conditioning!), you may have smoke wafting into your room. (Not pleasant!) Most hotels are now smoke-free. October 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Anyone home? In short when we arrived at the hotel at 2:00 am there was NO one, I repeat NO one at the hotel front desk. We called the "0" number over and over after we had drove over 6 hours with a 4 month old. There was never an answer and no one ever came to the desk. Finally through the small opening at the desk I was able to crawl up there and reach our reservation paperwork and keys. We took them and went to our room. Thought things would get better from there but they didn't at all. The room smelled stale and unclean. The beds looked like someone had just been sleeping in them and the phone and the remote were discusting! We both slept with our clothes on, luckily we brought a pack and play for the baby so he was in a clean place. The next morning my sister went to the front desk and we do have to say that the manger was nice and very apologetic. Our room was comped which was appropriate for the situation. October 14, 2013

Shower drains very slowly, and the pillows were degraded and not comfortable. Carpet in hallways stained on several floors. Not an acceptable stay. Poor value for money spent. We had reservations for more nights but will cancel those and go elsewhere. Old property in need of refurbishment. August 20, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good facility but.... I needed to be in Lincoln to attend class and complete research for my doctoral studies at UNL. While Candlewood was 3x the cost of housing on campus, I thought it was worth it to have a kitchen and more comfortable sleeping arrangements. The facility was fine - the room seemed clean. However, I was rarely there because the internet service was terrible. It was dificult to get connected to the internet in the evenings/nights, and the service went out intermittently. I was pretty frustrated. Thus, for me, it was a poor choice because I needed to be on campus or at a local Starbucks to do research. The internet at Candlewood does not seem capable of handling large usage - which is odd since advertising seems to cater to the business professional. The staff at the front desk were ok. After a week, I did have to ask if someone was going to clean my room. I guess I was unclear why I needed to ask but I think this is a very self-service hotel. My refrigerator broke - and was not fixed by the time I left. Since it was just made this really loud noise sporadically, and since I wasn't there very much - I finally stopped asking at the front desk and just let it go. Like I said - it's an okay place. However, if you need internet to do work, you might be disappointed. Also, don't expect much from the staff. They are very nice - it's just a very self-service hotel. The staff won't have very satisfying answers...just accept that, and move on. June 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Clogged tub drain and dirty room We travel a lot for work and always stay a priority club hotels, usually Candlewood or Staybridge. We checked in about 10pm. The room definitely wasn't the cleanest. The floors were dirty and the bathrooms had clumps of lint/dust all over it. We didn't really care though because we were so tired from driving all day and just wanted to take a shower. Unfortunately the drain in the shower was clogged and so the tub filled up with dirty water from us and I'm sure whatever was clogging the drain. This was pretty gross so we went to the front desk to get some draino or something to unclog the tub. They said they weren't allowed to give guests this kind of stuff and that a maintenance man would take care of it the next day. We went by the front desk again in the morning and asked them if the maintenance guy could take care of the drain while we went out for breakfast. When we got back 2 hours later the drain was unclogged but the bath tub was disgusting. It had dirt/grease residue all over the tub. I was a little surprised that they didn't notice how gross the tub was after clearing the drain and thought maybe they would've tried to clean it. I'm sure if I had gone to the front desk again to ask them to clean the tub they would have gotten to it eventually, but we really needed to shower so I ended up cleaning the tub with their towels and shampoo. So long story short, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the front desk ladies weren't the nicest, so we probably won't stay at this hotel again unless we absolutely have to. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Filthy We stayed 3 nights on the first floor with our puppy. The room was dirty, I picked up bobby pins off the floor every day. Recliner and desk chair had the top layer of the fabric missing in places from animals scratching at it. Hall was filthy, never cleaned while we were there. It had bleach marks on the hall carpet. Our laminate floor looked like it had been mopped with dirty water/mop. Carpet was stained from dog urine and felt sticky. The dog potty area was filthy from people not picking up after their dogs. It was not cleaned by staff either. Felt like it was impossible to walk in the area let alone let my puppy. Bed skirt hung off the mattress on each side, to the floor. I realize extended stay doesn't get you much in the way of even making a bed but no fresh towels is really too much. This is the first time we traveled with our new puppy and learned that this is not a place we would come back to and I would tell anyone who asks not to use this hotel either. Thank you May 22, 2013

Efficient friendly staff at front desk checked me in without delay and oriented me to the hotel and surroundings. Comfortable beds in each room with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, small stovetop in each room as well as dishes, silverware, knives, glassware and pots and pans. I wasn't expecting the weekly room service, but plenty of towels were provided, so it wasn't a problem and more were available at the desk. A quiet hotel, situated away from the street, which offered us an opportunity to enjoy the weekend. May 10, 2013

The room and facilities have always been clean and well-maintained and I like the fact that housekeeping only comes in after 7 days. It allows for more privacy and it is very easy to get towels or anything else I need at the front desk. The Cupboard and the fitness room also add to the convenience of staying here. I highly recommend this Candlewood Suites to anyone staying in Lincoln. January 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Romm Room had used pizza box and other trash in refridgerator. When I went to the front desk asking for a clean room they started to take care of me but stopped to check in new arrivals. I waited over 20 minutes to get a clean room. On evening two the front enterance was blocked by a guests pickup parked in front of the door. The truck had coolers of beer and other adult beverages in the back with a man acting as bartender.The lobby was packed with approximatly 25 to 30 people eating cake and other foods while drinking they also blocked the hallway and elevator.. This was not what I expected from this hotel. I will not return. October 24, 2012
