Great location close to Old Montreal and St. Catherine's St. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, the suite was larger than expected. Kitchen area had met most requirements. Only wished there were more digital channels available for TV. Look fwd to returning again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Moishes A bench at Mount Royal Park is better
Worst hotel experience ever. Came up for a bachelor party and I booked rooms in advance asking for suites with pull out bed couches. They said we would either have a pull out sofa or a cot. When we arrived two of our rooms didn't have any sofas or cots. They barely had blankets.
A hotel should know how to keep track how many sofas and cots they had. Unorganized and unprepared.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VincentL A not bad stay
We arrived around 6 pm. The front desk girl was polite and answered all my questions. During my stay, I also met some other hotel staff; all of them were very polite and helpful.
The suite I stayed was a quiet 2-br. It is well maintained. There are 2 things that I noticed:
1. The phone was unplugged and I had to find the jack and then realized that there was not a table that I could put the phone on close to the jack; so I left the phone on the floor...
2. There is only 1 full bathroom for this 2-br suite, which is not very convenient...
I did not bring my laptop, but I used a PC at the Business Centre and printed some documents I need.
The location is not bad, very close to the Chinatown, about 15 minutes walk to the Notre-Dame, also not far from the McGill University.

Staff and location were great. My only suggestion would be to invest in better pillows for guests. They were substandard at best. Queen bedroom suiite was perfect size and roomy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NatalieI Great "apartment-like" stay, very friendly staff.
My two friends and I received a great room for a very affordable price. The room was very clean. I loved the comfortable beds, electronic heating & cooling system, and full kitchen. It was everything we needed for cooking meals. Grocery store was just down the street, so it was perfect! The staff was also very friendly and accommodating when replacing our towels at the front desk, since the rooms are cleaned once a week. The room also had no "smoker" smell that usually comes from hotels with a smoking room option. Also, the complimentary bag of popcorn in the microwave was a very cute touch!
My only suggestion would have been to have more glasses in the cupboard, more utensils, and maybe a bigger pot to cook things in. Also, the only thing that was a bit disappointing was that two of the burners on top of the stove weren't working when I cooked, but I worked around that.
Overall, a great home-like experience for a very affordable price! Thank you!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mel1117 Great option for staying a week or longer in Montreal
The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was great, especially for the summer season, right in between the beautiful old Montreal area and the busy festival area of the city. Staff was very friendly and kind. Very convenient to have laundry on site as well as the Candlewood Cupboard to make drinks, ice cream etc. accessible at any time.
The air conditioning worked well and it was very ice to have a patio door in the living area to get a great view of the city and to know how the weather was without having to go downstairs.
Other guests staying at the hotel were also very friendly which is a great plus.
We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drew33 Our Montreal stay for Jazz fest
Wow you could not of asked for anything closer. The Suites were a 3 minute walk to the Jazz fest and 10 minutes to Old Montreal. Anything closer and it would of cost us at least 200 plus bucks a night. The rooms are a long term designation, but we were able to get coffee and towels daily by going down stairs and asking at the counter. Friendly and extremely helpful staff, all Bi lingual and really prepared to give out advice as to where to go and what to do. A 3 minute walk from the St Laurent METRO station. We are going back!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chindea Great value for the money
My wife and I spent 5 nights at this property and were very happy with this no-frills hotel with spacious bedroom and all the amenities. Laundry service is free and there are other amenities such as a gym, business and meeting room. Location is great; 10 minutes walk to Old Montreal and 5 minutes to Chinatown. It is practically a walking distance to all major locations, with a great supermarket, IGA, close by.Staff is helpful and friendly, but very busy because they are overworked. There is underground parking which costs $20 dollars a day. Good value if you compare it to other major cities. We will stay there again in future trips.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by chache Not what I expected
I liked the display of my room, but I disliked what I usually care the most about in an hotel room : the small détails. No facetowels. rough on the skin towels. no room service whatsoever. No coffee refills. No garbage pick up. No bedmaking. Only one phone, not movable from the separate bedroom. No newspaper delivery at the door. No ustensile to eat (I had to go get some and I was given just one of each).
The location is great, but I will try another place next time I have to go to Montréal for work.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mulan27 Good location but okay room
Overall we enjoyed the location of the Candlewood Suites. It was walking distance to Chinatown and Old Montreal. Since we have an infant the kitchenette was very useful. I would have liked to have a kettle in my room. Before I booked I called the hotel directly to ensure that one would be in my room but when I got there, there was no kettle. Upon my arrival I asked for assistance with my luggage as I had my baby in one hand and couldnt manage the amount of bags I had. Unfortunately I was told that I could take a cart and do it myself and if there were no carts in the lobby I could walk next door to the Holiday Inn and borrow theirs. I didn't complain ...but right above my bed there were very noticeable cobwebs with spiders. I'm not sure if it had been a while since someone stayed in that room but it would have been nice if that detail had been taken care of prior to our arrival. We ended up cleaning it ourselves. The room set up was nice but those details mentioned above was disappointing for the price I paid.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FrPJ Great location and facility
I have enjoyed a number of stays at this Candlewood over the last year, and look forward to my next visit. I have had friendly service every time. The room may not be fancy, but I find them ideal for comfort and convenience. It is a short walk to all sorts of restaurants and Old Montreal. Barring foul weather, it is an easy walk to the office buildings near the Basilicas.

Let's face it: you're not going to Montreal to stay in your hotel room. This place only reenforces this thinking. I wasn't impressed by the decor. Mostly blank walls. The bed was comfortable. The room was acceptably clean. That's really all I wanted from the place.
Know what I got as a Priority Club Member? A soda. Doesn't do much to instill loyalty as far as I'm concerned.
I think the next time I go to Montreal, though, I'll look for a better place to stay.

I was there for Montreal Fashion week and work at the same time, I had to stay there for about 6 days. I loved my room and had a great view of the city. My room was on the 10th floor and it was neat, clean and it was like a home away from home. I intend to go back in March for work.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tonyfromLA Comfort was reasonable, but neighbors were very noisy
The location of property was within walking distance of most things I needed to do; front desk attendent was friendly and helpful; however, when there was a line at the front desk, no other employee would bother to help; coffee pot in the pantry went out the first day, so was unavailable for the rest of the stay; accomodations were reasonably comfortable; I guess the price was ok with respect to having the kitchen in your room, but I didn't ever use it; I had some extremely noisy neighbors across the hall on the second night until about 3 a.m., which was very unpleasant.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Biche46 Need of a lift
My principal comments is that the bathroom is in need of a lift and it`s old and used. IT was missing a table in the living room the light was there, and the table was not. Some effort has been put in this room but still need more. A bit old ans the recliner chairs were faling a part. Room 1000, 10th floor.
