We were first time visitors to New York, we took our Daughter and Grandson and booked two rooms. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend Candlewood Suites. It is only a 5 minute walk to Time Square. The rooms are quite small but plenty big enough and comfortable for two people. There are cooking facilities in the room if needed. Our room was clean and had nice fresh linen and towels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is laundry facilities which is free with plenty of clean washing machines and dryers. Being in New York we thought the charges were great value for what we paid. We also stayed at Candlewood because we were doing a cruise out of New York to the Caribbean and it was only a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise terminal.

For us it was the first visit to the U.S., and we always wanted to New York. We wanted a hotel that is inexpensive but comfortable, clean and cozy. A hotel where we could provide us with a snack itself. A property that is central and where you achieved everything on foot or by bus or subway. The Candlewood was perfect. The staff very friendly, we got along very well with Sam and Victoria. Even though we sometimes one or the other English vocabulary is omitted, you are well understood and helped. We will definitely come back, but not this year. So if anyone has any discerning guest, the hotel is worth gold. We wish you always nice guests

The hotel is located central Midtown, 5-mins walk to Port Authority Bus Terminal/subway E train and 10 mins walk to Time Square. Basically, you can go anywhere with public transportation.
And thinking about the unsure NY subway routine and changing schedule, living near a major station is very importatn.
Staff are very nice and willing to help. Suit is not provding room clean every day which is not a big problem if not staying long.

Great location, close to many amenities including Times Square, subways, restaurants and shops. Starbucks was nearby for early morning coffee and a grocery store a short walk away. The hotel was clean and the staff always friendly and helpful.
Excellent place to stay while in NYC!

This hotel has to be the BEST kept secret in NYC!!! WOW! Way better than expected. An extended stay suite; very spacious, CLEAN, had refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, cooking utensils. They were all in excellent shape and exceptionally clean. Room was AWESOME! Staff were awesome and they baked cookies every night! No housekeeping daily but really, who needs that! We were gone so much it wasn't necessary. The hotel was quiet. It is a 5 min walk from Times Square. Near the subway stations and the bus station. Truly, everything you need right here!!! Highly recommend this hotel!!!!!! Nothing negative about this hotel at all. You won't be disappointed!

Chose this hotel because it had a kitchen, we loved the microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, great location and safe area, great staff, did not like that the wi-fi was slow or hard to connect, our room was next to the elevator so at times you can hear guest talking and the elevator going up. In 9 days you get 1 day of housekeeping so if you need clean towels or throw trash away you need to call front desk, no safe in room you will need to go to the front desk.

Great place to stay because it's so close to major thoroughfares (subway, buses, etc.) and visitor attractions. We stayed there before going on a cruise out of New York. Rode on the Hop-on-Hop Off bus that was only a couple of blocks away. Memorable stay for us because the hotel made it so accessible for us to visit lots of attractions. Only only one question, did the lady at the registration desk really like her job?

There was a water problem in the hotel as well as the public system in the morning of. The 16th. In fact I was all soaped up in the shower. Not pleasant as I had to go to meeting. After talking to desk. No offer for relief was made. Not good. We will not stay there any time in future

I stayed here in November 2011 and returned in November 2012. Both times, I was warmly greeted by front desk personnel and made to feel at home immediately. Elevators quickly took me back and forth to/from quiet rooms on upper floors. Rooms are surprisingly small, but perfectly adequate for one or two people. It was nice having a kitchenette w/fridge to store food. Both rooms were immaculately clean, but cleaning staff should use a step ladder to check upper kitchen shelves for "left-overs." On my first stay, I found an unopened box of condoms up there, and next time I found a new box of tea bags. Or maybe these were welcome gifts? <LOL> I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here in the future.

As someone who comes to NY and attends trade shows at the Javits Center this is an excellent value and my new go to place for these events. The hotel is in a great location. Close to the Javits Center and many other attractions. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the price is way below what most hotels in NY cost. I love this place.

Everything was perfect. The only problem are the engines noises from the aircondition and the frig. So noisy that I could not get into sleep. I had to turn the air condition off during the night. And also I will appreciate to have some foreign language channel on the television and the WIFI network in the room si not good enough, too slow, sometimes impossible to get the network at all. Inspite of all these points, Candleswood suite is an excellent hotel with helpfull staff. Excellent location also.
I hope that improvement will be made next time when I come back to New York again.

The service at Candlewood Suites was very friendly and helpful. When moving to DST and the clock was to be advanced a flyer was left in my room as a reminder and on top of it, the Canlewood staff already adjusted the alarm clock so that I would get up on time. - Excellent service, such hands-on help did not happen to me at any hotel before.

I stayed at the Candlewood Suites for 6 weeks and really enjoyed my stay! Absolutely, hands down the best staff and service I have ever seen and I have stayed at some of the best hotels all over the world! I highly recommend Candlewood Suites to anyone looking for extended stay accomodations!

Have never stayed at a Candlewood before but we definitely enjoyed it. Housecleaning is not provided on a daily basis but for a 3 night stay we didn't need it. Staff was very pleasant and inviting. The kitchen area was more than sufficient for small meals and food storage. Linens were great as was the bed. Hard to imagine a restful sleep in the heart of downtown NYC but that is exactly what we got. Very convenient to Times Square, theatres, and MSG.

I stayed at Candlewood/Times Square for almost 3 months. I was in the city for work and worked loooong hours. My room was clean, the staff more than * exceptional * and what a perfect location.. Rooms in NYC are smaller than elsewhere but that's a given, you ARE in NYC! I will certainly return to NYC (on pleasure, hopefully not work) and will absolutely stay at this hotel. Need a decent place to eat??...Westway Diner on 9th, between 43rd and 44th. Clean, welcoming, great food, great service and only about a 10 minute walk. ENJOY your stay!

This is one of many small hotels with small rooms that have sprung up on 39th and 40th streets between 8th and 9 th avenues. The location is convenient to the theatre district and times square and many subway lines. This particular hotel provides a larger room and a small kitchen than several other nearby hotels I have stayed at and as such is a much better value than other perfectly adequate hotels in the same area and in fact on the same block. Be warned the rooms are small but adequate and very clean.

This hotel is in a great location, close to central Times Square and Macy's. Booked 3 rooms, 2 of which had a views of the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower. All rooms were clean and tidy and the kitchen is a great bonus. The staff were very friendly and we would definately consider staying there again if we are fortunate to visit New York again.

Staff was very friendly and the room was great! It was clean and had a full kitchen complete with dishes! They were even accodating when i requested a late check out. Great location, we were able to walk to time square from the hotel. I thought it was a little pricey, but then again it was around Christmas time.

During last visit in New York during Christmas time, I found this Candlewood in times square is in very convinient location to eveywhere you want to go. Close to subway and walking distance to Times Square, Central park and 5th Avenue. In addition, the staff response to the request I put on-line during reservation. I will definitely recommend my friends to choose this hotel whent hey visit NYC. Even though the room is not as big, it has everything you need. The location is just perfect.

Stayed here with my wife for our 10-yr wedding anniversary. Staff was extremely friendly. Building and room was clean and well kept. Very close to all major attractions........we walked to Times Square (3 mins), Rockefeller Center (15 mins), Empire State Bldg (10 mins), etc. Location was safe and close to subway and bus terminal. Hotel is quite as it is 2 blocks off Times Square. We used the subway to get to Soho, 9/11 Memorial and other downtown locations with no trouble at all. If you want a great breakfast go to Westway Diner on 9th Ave/43rd St (3 minute walk)...........this was recommended to us by the front desk lady and it is a great local place for breakfast..........prices really reasonable, they are open 24 hrs and the place is very clean. We ate breakfast there every day. Overall Candlewood was a great choice; we will stay here again when we visit next.

Really well situated hotel with very comfortable and well fitted rooms. We found the kitchen in the room a real bonus. What was rrally great about the whole stay were the staff. Really friendly and went that extra mile for you. That meant such a lot when we found out our flights home had been messed up, they did everything they could to help. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is centrally located if you want to walk around Manhattan and see the sights.
The hotel staf is very friendly and helpful. They helped me arrange a car to take us to the Rolling Stones Concert in Newark. Great service.
The room is clean, small but adequate.

My stay was great and the Hotel Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I used Reward Pts for my 3 night stay and was treated better than I had been in hotels that I paid for rooms.
My room was clean and larger than some of the reviews suggested.

I was very impressed with the Candlewood Suites located at 339 W. 39th Street New York City , New York. Location is fantastic. Very safe neighborhood, so close to restaurants, shops, entertainement and more. The staff is extremely friendly and eager to assist you and make you feel welcome. Rooms are very comfortable and have a complete kitchen with utensils. The free fast WiFi access is a plus. Property is very clean and definitely a great value for your money. I would stay here again and recommend this property to anyone.
