Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great location and fantastic service!
Every staff member we dealt with we're so friendly and helpful.
Location was fantastic! Close walk to Times Square and to the subway.
Room was clean and had everything we needed. Daily housekeeping was not included but this was explained to us on check in and we were given a large amount of towels so we had no problems with this at all.
Will definitely recommend to other people.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good Value, Great Location
Candlewood Suites was the perfect place for us to spend our three nights in Manhattan. We arrived very early, and although it was too soon to check in the bellman took care of our luggage in a very friendly and efficient manner, which allowed us to see quite a few sights before checking in.
The room was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we could need for our stay with one exception - regular coffee. There was a coffeemaker and decaf coffee in the room, but no regular. They did, however, serve free coffee downstairs in the "Cupboard".
Some of the amenities (the Concierge and the computers for guest use) are shared with the Holiday Inn Express next door. There is no daily housekeeping service, but they happily provided any extras we needed (towels, linen, etc.)
The location is wonderful, walking distance to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Radio City and an overwhelming variety of shops and restaurants. It's also just blocks from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and all manner of public transportation.
Overall, we had a great stay and would certainly return to Candlewood.

Had been at Candlewood Mt Laurel/Philadelfia few months ago which was quite enjoyable. On this trip to NY I made no second plans but Candlewood, and it was confirmed as a very fine choice

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spruce42 Great location, wonderful staff!
We stayed in a suite (3201) during our 6 day visit to New York City. My husband and I traveled with our 10 year old granddaughter to see the sights. We appreciated the cleanliness of the suite and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff very much. Our granddaughter enjoyed borrowing DVDs available to guests. The room was comfortable, including the bed and linens, and we loved the thick, large towels in the bathroom. At first we were disappointed with the size of the suite, but as we settled in we found it was certainly more than adequate for the amount time we spent there. In fact we came to think of it as “cozy” rather than small. The location was perfect for us.
The one complaint I have about the suite is the very noisy, blowing air conditioning units. There is no way to control the amount of air blowing (either high, medium or low) and the unit made lots of noise. A couple of nights I found it very difficult to sleep with the noise of the air conditioner and its shutting off and turning on. The room was too stuffy if we turned the unit off. Otherwise our stay was pleasant and measured up to our expectations and more.

We chose Candlewood because of the savings compared to other hotels in NYC. We enjoyed the larger room, in-room safe, and the kitchenette in the room. I would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JennfromOregon Excellent location and accomadations!
Loved that it was right around the corner from times square and several subway trains. We liked having a fridge in the room where we could make ice and put cold water in the fridge. We liked the washers and dryers in the basement. We liked the cookies served every afternoon. We walked up to 9th, turned left and found an AWESOME steak house. Uncle Jack's was a little expensive but a fun experience and super yummy. We liked that a housekeeper was not in our room every day, but that we were able to call down to the front desk and have towels delivered to our door right away. We would absolutely reccomend this location and will stay again if/when we ever return to New York.

I had a really great experience at Candlewood Suites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel room was nice and clean. The air conditioning worked well. The linens in the bathroom were good quality. I had a problem with the room that was caused by a previous resident, and it was fixed immediately when I pointed it out to the staff. I would definitely stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thereader Great hotel near Javits Center!
This was my 4th stay at this hotel. I come to BEA yearly and had previously stayed on Broadway near Times Square. Since locating Candlewood Suites, I have stayed there. While the suite is smaller than the one I previously stayed in on Broadway, the closeness to the Javits Center as well as the Theatre District and Broadway make it a great deal. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hot fresh baked cookies at about 4 PM are such a treat. The free washer and dryers are great.

The only thing that disappointed me is that as I am a member I was told we did not have to check out until 2 p.m. Sunday so we had left the room around 11 a.m. to get breakfast and take a walk.
We left our things which included our cell charger and a "please do not distuirb" sign on the door however when we returned at 1:40 to grab our things two young Asian people wee IN OUR ROOM cleaning and, for the record, I never found my cell phone charger again- a lost of $35.00 to me!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lightsleeper99 Awesome stay!
Sam the late night manager was unbelievably efficient with many persons at his desk hollering to get in their their room at same time. He effortlessly, and with rapid charm and professionalism, checked everyone including myself in. He missed no beat in recognizing priority club guests and was courteous during a challenging moment alone as a staff member at hotel. Hotel was clean, bell hops were on it, DVD library stocked, room air conditioned before arriving. When an appliance in room needed replacing as it was not working, the maintenance supervisor could only be relied on to exchange it, after some unfortunate staff approval delays which lasted much longer than necessary. Afterward, GM on property Teresa jumped in to rectify matters the next day and smoothed out the only potential negative of the stay; which she turned into a positive. Overall, great value, great location, and great stay!! Location and property run very well always by the Hersha Hospitality Group. My sincere thank you, as a New Yorker who could stay anywhere for the night in NYC, but chose the Candlewood Suites off of Times Square. Seriously, a great property with decent room size!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable Room Nice Location
Nice mid-town "west" location, and close to subways/trains. Rooms are small but they are clean and in good order, including a kitchenette, dishes, and a med.size refrigerator (no oven). Free ready-made coffee in the lobby all day, as well as a pantry for basic necessities. There is no daily maid service, but if you can make up your own bed and hang up your own towels then you'll love the privacy & silent hallways (NO maids yelling "HOUSEKEEPING" repeatedly early in the morning---my LEAST FAVORITE part of traveling!). The hallways are quiet, and your room is your own space during your stay (spread out and relax). A smiling & helpful staff were always ready to help. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Wow, what an experience! I don't think I've had better customer service anywhere else. ALL of the staff members were nice at all different stages and times during our trip. Customer service was just excellent. The room was clean and great and just minutes away from times square. My bf and I can't wait to come back.

Perfectly placed for TImes square or a walk down to the river and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Also close to the premises were good restaurants and an Irish bar with a great atmosphere 2 minutes away. Wouldnt hesitate in recommending these premises and if fortunate enough to come back to New York would definately book these premises.

Would definately stay at the Candlewood Suites again.
Nice little hotel centrally located within the Times Square
area of NYC. Friendly staff. Clean suite and bed. Good price.
Hotel has a small convience store on ground floor for the purchase of amenities and snacks. Airlink shuttle service provided excellent drop-off service directly to the hotel from LGR airport which was painless. Lots of eateries' located within a
short walking distance . Close to hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses. I'd say '' ...go for it !..." ~ unless you want to pay for
a 5 star ' at a much higher price.

We had an enjoyable stay in New York. The hotel was wel located for site seeing, the staff were pleasant and the room was clean. Our only problem was a noisy freezer/fridge which was quickly replaced. The bonus was a washroom area which had a washing machine and a drier which were free!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mauikimo Great staff keeps me coming back!
The thing with NYC hotels is that you can’t have it all – there are always trade-offs. The “perfect” room will cost you an arm and a leg, but the affordable rooms don’t offer the niceties – or even the necessities in some cases. I have found Candlewood to be a perfect compromise. Clean, comfortable rooms with extra features at a good rate. And the best staff in the industry!
My biggest complaints would be the lack of lighting and size of room. Had they made the utility areas in the center of the building just a foot or so narrower they could have fit another nightstand with a lamp beside the bed. That would pretty much eliminate all my whining.
Unlike so many others, I prefer rooms without daily cleaning. Not only better for the environment and cheaper rates, but I don’t have to worry about vacating the room at any particular time during the day. To me that’s a plus. And you can always get linens replaced upon request.
Two very minor glitches on this trip:
The toaster didn’t work. But I kept forgetting to ask them to replace it, so how big a deal could it have been?
The eating utensils and dishes were disgustingly dirty – old food stuck on them. Had to re-wash everything before I could use them. I guess the previous guest wasn’t very picky. I suspect housekeeping assumes people know how to wash dishes correctly, but maybe it would be a good idea to spot check a few items?
With all the choices in NYC, what keeps me coming back to this specific Candlewood is the staff. Always friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. They seem to enjoy their work and assisting guests. They get to know you, greet you each day and even joke with you. Many other customer service related companies could learn a lot from this team. Kudos to management for assembling and retaining such a great group of employees!
Fully supplied kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, sink & dishwasher.
Very comfortable beds with above-average linens.
TV with DVD player.
Comfortable lounge chair.
Clean and surprisingly quiet given the location near a busy intersection.
Just minutes to convention center, subway or Times Square.
Insufficient lighting in entire room, but worst on side of bed against the wall as there is no nightstand. Possible to install pot lights in the ceiling or a wall sconce?
Towel rack in the shower? Difficult to keep the towels dry. Possibly put more hooks on the door or wall? Also, no hand towel loop near the sink so you have to drip water across the floor when reaching back to the tub for a towel.
No counter space in bathroom.
No luggage racks.

Myself and my fiancee stayed for 6 nights in April 2013 and really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent - close to Port Authority, Penn Station and Time Square. Our room while small was perfectly adequate for our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable. We both had some work to finish while on our holiday and the free WiFi was great. The staff were efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and would stay again.

small town people in the big city, all staff we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful, room was as expected, actually quieter than expected, don't expect any view, there is none, good bed, good pillows, small but what we required, very clean, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, start with morning coffee, muffin, fresh fruit, (3 bakeries or convenience stores within a block either way), go explore the city, 1 block from subway, close walk to theatres, times square, central park, boat tour, Hells Kitchen restaurant area, (bring comfortable footwear)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NatuScape Great location!!
We stayed here for five nights in late April 2013, with some of the loveliest New York City spring weather I'd encountered in years!! The room was a tad smaller than expected, but it made up for that plenty with a very comfortable recliner, a superb bed, and more outlets than electronics we had to charge! We were impressed with the convenience of the location, as well as the well-stocked and modestly priced cupboard. Free Internet? Sign me up! Will definitely stay here again next time around. Just wish the kitchen sink hot water had worked better, and the elevator hadn't been down all weekend (don't worry, there are two!)

If you don't mind the loss of half the elevators in this high rise building and a very friendly staff that yet cannot tell time, at least in English ("A quarter past 7? That is 7:25?") and skips your wakeup call, then at least you will be VERY COMFORTABLE in your neat and very clean room, as I was. If you like Italian food, the most authentic trattoria I have found in a long time is right across the street, Mercato.

We were first time visitors to New York, we took our Daughter and Grandson and booked two rooms. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend Candlewood Suites. It is only a 5 minute walk to Time Square. The rooms are quite small but plenty big enough and comfortable for two people. There are cooking facilities in the room if needed. Our room was clean and had nice fresh linen and towels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is laundry facilities which is free with plenty of clean washing machines and dryers. Being in New York we thought the charges were great value for what we paid. We also stayed at Candlewood because we were doing a cruise out of New York to the Caribbean and it was only a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise terminal.

For us it was the first visit to the U.S., and we always wanted to New York. We wanted a hotel that is inexpensive but comfortable, clean and cozy. A hotel where we could provide us with a snack itself. A property that is central and where you achieved everything on foot or by bus or subway. The Candlewood was perfect. The staff very friendly, we got along very well with Sam and Victoria. Even though we sometimes one or the other English vocabulary is omitted, you are well understood and helped. We will definitely come back, but not this year. So if anyone has any discerning guest, the hotel is worth gold. We wish you always nice guests
Greetings from Germany
