Conveniently located near Times Square, this was an exceptional place to stay. The staff were superb, and the accommodations clean, spacious and well appointed for a stay in such a major center. I'd not only recommend this location, but plan on returning soon!

Staying here allowed us to be close to the centre of things.. 5 mins walk to Times Square, and close to the subway. The hotel is one where you have some room in your room (scarce in NY). I could not fault it in anyway. If I go back to NY, which I will do, I won't bother searching for alternatives; I have tried others but the rooms are soooooooooo small. This is great. No restaurant etc, but who cares when you have great restaurants close by, a coffee shop to collect breakfast next door...or use the great kitchen room facilities if you want DIY.

We were there for 6 nights in July 2012 and we really enjoyed our stay. Ecellent Location. Great facilities ,ie: fridge and kitchen in room stocked with all the cooking utensils, and guest laundry, everthing we nedded and our bed was soooooooo comfortable. The staff were excellent too. Very friendly and ever so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They are an asset to your business.
Thank you Candlewood Suites for making our stay very enjoyable.

Located within walking distance to everything we were interested in experiencing. The lobby was clean and welcoming. The gym was the perfect size, the elevator was not only clean it was fast, we never waited more then a few seconds. The staff was wonderful & even wished us a Happy 25th Anniversary on their 'shout out' board in the lobby. The view from our room was fantastic! Newly updated the kitchenette was very useful, it had everything we needed and was up to date was the bathroom. The manager's celebration in the lobby was sweet too! I would recommend the Candlewood Suites to friends as it's an excelllent value for the money. I would certainly stay there again!

I love the Candlewood Suites Times Square so much! I stay there on average once or twice a month. Allison and Monica are the BEST. The hotel is spotlessly clean all the time. The free 24 hour laundry is fantastic and the wonderful scent throughout the lobby is great. Full Kitchen, high def tv free Wifi. Love it! They go out of their way here to treat me right each and every time. And great location too. Thank you.

I've stayed in a number of reasonably-priced hotels in midtown New York, and Candlewood Suites is by far the best of the bunch. The room was clean, and spacious by New York standards; the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. You can't ask for more.

Centrally located just a short walk from Times Square, Empire State & Macy's.
Suites more spacious than expected. Comfortable and well-equipped.
Kitchenette had utensils and crockery etc. Very convenient for single traveller.
Only drawback is the air con & fridge/freezer a bit noisy - take ear plugs for sleeping!
Staff friendly and helpful.
Also, free wi-fi!
Definitely would recommend!

I found this suite was excellent,close to everything,and the staff could not be more helpful.
Only thing that turned me off was the overall squalor of NYC,but all in all I enjoyed my stay and my timie as that what travelling is all about.

From my very late arrival to my constant coming and going over two days, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They did all they could to make my stay comfortable. The room was very clean and neat. The location was excellent and the rate was more than affordable. Would certainly stay there again.

Recommend to those who are looking for normal European standards even on a holiday in NYC. Room I had was really big enough with nice view on Hudson and NJ panorama. Room was cleaned every day. Staff friendly and helpfull. SPECIAL thanks to Kody - THANKS 4 UR help and assistance Kody :-)))
Wi-Fi free and works everywhere. Almost all city attractions on walking distance. Recommend!!!! And see in NYC again:-)

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights using a combination of Priority points and cash to pay for the room. Excellent value for the money in light of the location which is easy walking distance to subway, bus etc. Clean room with a full size fridge and stove. No ice machine in hotel but the staff gladly got us some ice very promptly when we asked. this is definitely not a "hang around your hotel" kind of accomodation - but then that's not what we usually want to do when we're in NYC anyway. Just a clean, comfortable, convenient place to sleep, shower etc. This fits the bill perfectly. Would definitely stay here again.

Booked this hotel as it was described as a suite beside Times Square. Certainly not what I would describe as a suite and not beside Times Square but a couple of miles away. Rooms are .very cramped Has kitchenette, table chairs and bed but you couldn't swing a cat in the place. Fridge was really noisy kept us awake. Views from our room was an alley. Felt we were sold short on the description of this hotel

Although a decent price for NYC and a central location, when I advised the clerk that I saw a cheaper price online for the same facility/same dates , they would not honor the price. The clerk said that they would check with the manager in the morning and notify me. However, when we were leaving for the afternoon (about 11am), no one at the Front Desk seemed to be aware of anything remotely involving this. Not wanting to ruin my trip to the city by being upset over this, I just dropped it and chalked it up to a another life lesson paid for.
Overall, the place was clean, well located, and reasonably priced ( for NYC ), but not honoring the rate I found, and more so the apparent indifference and inaction of the staff, leaves me hesitant to recommend this property. Then again, maybe I just caught someone on a bad day.

The staff were very accommodating and informative. Each time we had questions, at all hours of the day and night, we got answers. For the first few days the cable in our room did not get local channels and my husband was anxious to see the NBA playoffs. After trouble shooting, the staff arrived with another TV the next day. At the time of checkout, there were questions about additional charges on our bill that could not be answered. The office manager on duty promised to call with a resolution after we left the hotel. A return call was made before the day was over, the bill was corrected and an email confirming the correct charges was sent to my personal email.
The staff always greeted us as we arrived and left the property. If there was a problem, they searched for a solution until it was solved. Very Satisfied with this property!

This was the second year in a row staying at Candlewood. The location is excellent, both for walking and for the subway, which is just a block away at the Port Authority Station. There are also restaurants and shops at Port Authority. I would often stop there to pick up a NY Times and something to take back to the room for dinner.
The full kitchen was what attracted me to this hotel. Eating in NYC is very expensive, unless you eat fast food which I don't. I'm really too tired at the end of the day to sit in a restaurant anyway. It was so nice to come "home" after a day of "touring" and pop something in the microwave or eat something I'd picked up at Port Authority, have ice cream for dessert, and have breakfast in the room as well. Everything you need is provided, even a plastic drink container and popcorn. The supermarket, Food Emporium, is just a few blocks away and my first stop after I've checked in.
The rooms are very clean. This 2nd trip, I did notice that the finish on the wood-framed bathroom mirror needed re-doing, but that's my only complaint.
The staff at the desk, and those I met in the hallway and elevator where extremely nice and helpful. I loved the Cupboard just off the lobby, as well as the free USA Today every day.
I am a 65-year-old female traveling alone and felt completely safe both in the hotel and in the area around the hotel.

Spent (only) two nights at the Times Square hotel. Location is excellent, one block from Port Authority and 3 blocks from the iconic Times Square. Staff was very helpful and extremely customer minded. Room was clean, roomy and had everything I had hoped for. I would definitely visit this hotel again! And for the price it was a bargain!

The location is fairly decent, a little away from Time Square itself. The street the hotel was on was a little rough due to construction and some awkward smells...Otherwise, it was fine and the room was very comfortable. I liked being able to spin the wheel for a free gift. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel!
