Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fishy smelling room, unacceptable This room stunk a bad fishy smell. I notified the staff and they sent someone up to spray an air freshener - unacceptable. I asked for a change of room but was told there was none available. I won't be staying there again or at any Candlewood Suites hotels again December 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Never been to NYC before but glad we chose Candlewood to enjoy this experience! We stayed 4 nights/5 days. The location is great and within walking distance of pretty much everything we needed to get too (though 9th avenue seemed a little shady at nighttime). The in-suite kitchen came in handy as we ate breakfast and packed a lunch and snacks for the day which was really helpful. They had all the stuff that you needed in the kitchen (plates, kettle, utensils, etc.). Staff were responsive to our needs (fixing the washroom sink drain, picking the garbage up, giving us extra laundry bags, letting us checkout 30 minutes later, etc). There are two elevators and one of them broke down twice during our stay which caused us a little delay getting to and from the room but I highly recommend it staying here! December 22, 2014

Especially, Francisco the maintenance engineer who was so gracious and prompt when we had problems with the cable and the tv. I did however, have problems when booking this trip with the rewards program. They had me staying in Chelsea instead of NYC Time Square and it took me two days and speaking with three different people before we finally got it straightened out. Also, the fact that several of these booking agents could barely speak English so it was very difficult in the communication process. December 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value! Great Stay! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It's 3 blocks from times square. A very short walk. Nice size for New York. And having a fridge and microwave in your room for storing and warming up leftovers is priceless. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was always so friendly and helpful. They even let us late checkout since our flight was leaving later in the afternoon. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to New York. You should too. December 15, 2014
