Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK if you are small Just back from a three day educational conference at the Holiday Inn Liverpool, NY Room: Started off on the wrong foot when I could not get the key card to work in the lock. After multiple attempts, a housekeeper came to the rescue. Neither key card worked correctly, and it took multiple attempts every time before the lock would work and let me into my room (did not matter what key card I used). I had a room with two double beds. The room also contained a TV stand, a small desk and desk chair, and a lounge chair with ottoman. WiFi is provided free in all rooms and conference areas. While there was enough room for me, a larger person, or someone with assistive devices or wheelchair might have found it challenging. The room was immaculately clean. Smoking is not allowed inside the hotel which was a definite positive for me. There is a coffee maker, but no tea bags were provided. As I do not drink coffee, this was a negative for me. The walls are not particularly thick, and I was awakened several times during the night when loud (as in drunk) persons came down the hall talking, and some ended up in the room next to mine. The bathroom was incredibly small! The toilet is angled from one corner so that the door will close. I am quite small, and there was barely room for me to turn around (literally) in the bathroom. Conversations with my colleagues indicated that the bathroom was pretty standard, and the larger individuals among us were VERY unhappy with the arrangement. There is NO WAY someone with an assistive device or a wheelchair would even be able to get into the bathroom. Luckily I was staying by myself, because I cannot imagine more than one person was trying to get ready in the morning! There is no outlet by the only mirror outside of the bathroom, and only one (small) person can stand and use the mirror in the cramped bathroom. Four people in this room (given the room and the bathroom size) would be tripping over each other, and getting ready for bed, or to go somewhere would be a logistical nightmare. Restaurant: Many of us ate at least one evening in the hotel restaurant. Prices are very reasonable for the size of the portion. Companion 1 had the fried haddock and French fries, which also came with a reasonable salad. The haddock was at least a ½ pound fillet, nicely cooked. Companion 2 had a burger (looked to be about 1/3 pound). The burger was cooked as ordered (medium rare), and was declared to be quite tasty. Companion 3 had French Onion Soup. It was presented in a medium size crock with a heavy topping of melted cheese and bread. As I was not very hungry, I ordered the appetizer of fried calamari as my meal. It was a very large portion, with nicely fried rings and tentacles served with both cocktail and tartar sauce. As an appetizer it would have easily served 3 or 4; as a meal I could only finish about 2/3s of the dish. Quite the bargain at $8.99. The wait staff was attentive without being over bearing. Cons: On the last day of the stay check out was at 11 AM. Management knew that I was participating in the educational conference (there was a conference rate and one had to state with the reservation that they were attending the conference), and that the time of 10:30AM to 11 AM had been set aside for participants to check out. After attending an early morning presentation, I returned to my room to find that it had already been stripped and cleaned. Regrettably that “stripping” included some jewelry that was on the bedside stand. I was able to track down the housekeeper in another room, and when confronted she did produce the jewelry from her pocket. Perhaps she had it there for safe keeping until she could put it in lost and found – one can only hope. However, IMHO, it is not reasonable for the housekeeping staff to clean and strip a room when the occupant has not yet checked out. October 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great to have free wi fi in my room! They stay was fine, but adding a third night to my 2-night reservation seemed to cause some snafu's. Two days before I left for Syracuse I added a third night to my existing 2 night reservation. The first two nights went smoothly but later in the day after the 2nd night, my room key no longer worked and I had to get another. Not a big deal. But I also discovered later that day that though the maid had made my bed, she had not cleaned up used towels, nor replenished used soap and shampoos, nor coffee, coffee supplies and cups. Somewhere there was a disconnect in my reservations that probably for future travelers should be corrected. Otherwise, the stay was fine, location convenient, clean, okay. though nothing unusual, except the free wifi all over the hotel counts for a lot, and makes the motel special. Thank you. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average. Nothing thrilling. The mattresses were encased in a plastic cover, making for a bit of noise throughout the night. Bathroom was incredibly small. Room overall was clean and as expected, and staff was pleasant. The swimming pool was FREEZING. We were assured it was 85deg, but the kids lips were blue after five minutes. Average hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Annual visitation My husband and I stayed there because the location was so close to our visitation meetings. When we arrived there was a little problem with our reservation but the owner himself immediately was very helpful and resolved the issue in seconds. The stay was great and the breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast. I just wish we where able to enjoy the pool area after our meetings but unfortunately it was closed by the time we came back to the room. I would use this hotel again for our next trip in the area. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Shopping Expidition My friend and I stayed at this property for a Syracuse shopping expedition. We booked the hotel because I have stayed here before and like the location. Pros: It is located in a safe area for women traveling alone and it's proximity to the highway and other venues cannot be beat. The staff is friendly and helpful always. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Great shuttle for anywhere within a 3 mile radius. Cons: Restaurant breakfast is average at best. Pool is only open until 10PM; most nights we didn't get in until 9:30-10:00 - it would have been great to have an hour for a swim. Some of the facility needs upgrading (i.e. door knobs). Still-the Pros outweighed the Cons and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks!! September 1, 2013

Average hotel, clean, this was the first time i stayed in a Holiday inn where the breakfast was not included, there was a charge of 10.95 per person for breakfast . Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unfortunate Stay I have never felt so uncomfortable and nervous at a Holiday Inn ever before. The first night I was there another guest walked into my room by using his room key at 11pm. Thankfully I was awake and watching television as I was startled and in shock as I guess he received the same room key at check-in. I couldn’t believe this happened as I typically keep my laptop and other belongings in my room. I reported this to the staff and they apologized and they informed me someone would give me a call but I never received one. As a frequent traveler, I have grown to enjoy staying at Holiday inn as well as other IHG hotel places. I hope this doesn’t become a trend or I will have to consider switching to other hotel brands. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Food Stayed 2 nights at Holiday Inn, we are pleased with overall service provided by the staffs, house-keeping and dinning staffs. except the foods at the restaurant. I had The Apple Walnut Chicken with grenadine sauce and vegetables to go along with were over-cooked and not freshed. The broccoli were Yellow and not sure how long it was kept in the freezer. We will definitely stay at Holiday Inn again but not to dine at the restaurant if given the option. August 12, 2013

My room and furnishings were very clean. The room was spacious and the very quite - I felt like I was at home. I did not feel boxed in. I am a Priority Club member and the 50% discount on dinner at the hotel restaurant was greatly appreciated. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Thank you - keep up the good work. We only had breakfast in the restaurant and it was subpar. The potatoes tasted freezer burned and the coffee was not very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong Room For the most part the stay was fine. But I was given the key to somebody else's room. When I unlocked and opened the door to find somebody else in what I thought was my room I was shocked. The other guy was pretty upset as well. Now I open the doors to a Holiday Inn with caution, I slowly check to make sure the light is off, etc. I'm not sure how it's even possible in your system to rent out the same room to two different people on the same night, but it happened. Front desk staff, Kelly and Rachel, were very friendly and helpful. Especially, Rachel was helping us get the room keys changed back and forth after we got room upgraded. We were down at the pool on Saturday early evening and after about 45 minutes to an hour later, a staff member came in and asked us to leave. She didn't ask everybody only a few. I understand you were at capacity because of the dance competition but we had every right to use the pool for as long as we wanted. This was extremely rude on the part of your staff and next year I will consider staying elsewhere. March 29, 2013
