Candlewood staff and their kindness saved a frazzled traveler who had hauled wedding cake over two states and food for a wedding welcoming dinner (rehearsal) for participants and out-of-town guests. Another motel chain with full refrigerator's in the suite failed me by cancelling a 4-day reservation as I arrived late after a long journey (Why did they request all that contact information from me when the reservations was made?) Candlewood staff worked hard to find me a suite. Their graciousness left me with hope for humanity. Candlewood is definitely an experience I hope to repeat. Other chain...not likely to ever see a penny from me and those I may influence.

I reserved and paid for my room 1 1/2 months in advanced so I would get the room I wanted. I did not get the room that I booked and paid for, instead they put me into a much smaller room. We got some excuse that the room I reserved was not available for those only staying a couple of nights, if thaqt is the case why was I allowed to reserve and pay for the room? The staff was so rude never acknowledging you when you came into the hotel. The second day we were there we got locked out of our room, the front desk cler, would not give us a room key that would work. Instead anytime we needed back in our room we had to be escorted and they would open the door. The cupboard was okay, the only thing is they sold cereal but they did not sell milk. To me milk is kind of a staple should be carried.

The hotel takes the cake on making our vacation very uncomfortable. Made my reservation 1 1/2 months in advanced and paid for it in advanced. When I showed up, they could not give me the room I paid for stating they did not have any available. The front desk people are very rude, would not acknowledge you as you walk in from a day of sight seeing (all the other IHG hotels do) I guess they think they are better than those on vacation. The second day of vacation, they deactivated our keys and would not give us ones that would work so we had to be escorted to our room every time we left or went outside. The cupboard was a joke. They sell cereal but they don't sell milk. Who can eat ceral without milk?

It was a fantastic location 6 mins from airport. 5 mins from a movie theatre and even closer to places to dine.

Make sure you confirm and re-confirm your reservations for what they were made for. My reservations were made almost 2 months in advance.
After confirming our visit the day before check in - upon arrival we were told the room they had for us was one queen bed for 4 people. They didn't even have a roll-away bed or any air mattresses (and they didn't offer to purchase any for us either).
It was a busy weekend in Milwaukee and there were no other hotels available. They offered us extra blankets and two of us had to sleep on the floor.

Our 2 night stay at this hotel was very good. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice room arrangement and "wow" full kitchenette was a plus. Very clean and very quiet. We never heard a door or voices.
Thank you Candlewood...for a good experience!
I would definitely stay with you again.
