Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Guest communication needs work When I finally arrived to the Suites on 10/28, the front desk informed me that the building was experiencing an ATT related phone outage for most of the day, so that is why I was unable to contact them to find out how to get a ride on their shuttle. I called IHG to ask them to use an alternate means of contacting the staff, but they had no cell phone contact for the manager or any of the local staff. I tried contacting Candlewood customer service an had the same results. I eventually caught a cab and the manager re-imbursed me, which was good. I spent an hour trying to make contact directly and via the various customer service centers. I advised the desk personnel that they would benifit from contacting customer service and providing a mangers cell phone until the ATT issue was repaired. They apreciated the idea and said they'd act on it right away. Staying in comunication with guest (customers) needs to be a priority. Candlewood and IHG customer service centers need to have the ability to contact staff on behalf of guest via an alternate means. Especially when the issue is known, as in this case. Of all places, Oklahoma City should have emergency communications figured out. The remainder of the contact with the staff was top notch. November 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and key location; all the conveniences of home We found the 1-bedroom room to be very clean, well-set up for our needs and all of the necessary amenities that made us extend our stay to 3 nights 4 days. It felt wonderful and avoided the "pack-&-go", be able to catch up on our laundry in the convenient free laundry room and be close to the many sights that we wanted to take-in. All-in-all, we will definitely return to this Candlewood Suites and to Oklahoma City! October 12, 2013

I stay at candlewoods because they give you a break after you stay so long, and they don't charge as much as other hotels because they only have room cleaning or pools or any thing else July 18, 2013

During that time all the personnel were friendly and courteous and were quick to take care of any items we needed. Maintenance was also quickly taken care of when we needed it . The best quality is that they tolerated our puppy!!! ha...we would stay again but hopefully not to work on the tornado project. July 4, 2013

The hotel staff was extremely considerate and friendly -- went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Upgraded our reservation at no cost, and the room and amenities were superb. The location offered easy access to dining options, routes to the city, shopping and local attractions. The room rates were low for the quality -- one of the best Priority Club hotels we have tried -- will stay here whenever we return to OKC. June 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better Than expected All the time of my stay here was excellent. Staff always greeted me with a welcome home and a smile. I had not any need that they could not take care of. Parking was always no problem. My amenities were top quality. And all in working order. Room service specialist did a top job on the day they had advised me of scheduled room clean up each week, and I stayed here for almost 2 months. It was a complete customer satisfaction met by the Candlewood Suites. I went to the Will Rogers airport daily and this place is very conveniently located. I was never distracted by outside activities I think due to the road leading to the hotel is a No Outlet street. So this held down unwanted traffic in and around this Hotel. Also It was very close to anything in Oklahoma City, since the Highways were within 3 miles of the hotel and if you wanted something local, there were plenty of dining locations very near by. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not near Bricktown! The website says this hotel was close to Bricktown (the reason we booked this location). Well after a few phone calls and 45 minutes later we find the hotel out by the airport? Front desk only reply was that they are the closest of the chain. Brilliant! We are loyal to IHG, but don't like the way the website misleads you on this location. Not again. May 24, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just OK My check-in experience involved three tries to check in, two of which involved me being told no rooms are ready but would be in 30 minutes. 3 hours after I arrived, I was able to get a room I had reserved. No record was kept of who had been there and when and rooms where handed out to whomever happened to be in line when one was available. The desk staff was apologetic, but not terribly engaged. I was not recognized as a Priority Club member. My room was nice, but smelled of burnt food. I opened the window for a few hours, but the smell did not go away. A room air freshener solved the issue. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances worked. The Cupboard had a decent selection and was reasonably priced. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located off Meridian and access was hindered by milk trucks parked on the road in front of the hotel. April 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room's Not Ready I have to say your program is sweet. But when I travel from 0600 and arrive at 1530 to find no rooms were clean or ready I'm ??? The line was long waiting and I was told I should have a room in an hour if I want to come back. When I returned at 1645..still the same. People waiting and a long wait. I was told another hour was needed so I returned at find no rooms plus if I would have stayed in the office with my group at the desk I would have been given a room two hours ago. I figured when you took my name I was in line for a room as they became ready. Little did I know you was sending me away to keep the line looking short. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & comfortable Nice suite hotel. Unlike some competitive chains, Candlewood does not have a breakfast. However, the Cupboard has enough good stuff to have a nice breakfast in the suite. The suites are comfortable & roomy. The internet was speedy with no connection problems. If you're unfamiliar with Oklahoma City, the building is off the main road. This has the advantage of keeping things quiet, but following GPS can be a little tricky because the streets are close enough together to make the GPS turn directions unclear. March 11, 2013

We have been staying here for a few years on the way from MICHIGAN to AZ & back to MICHIGAN from AZ. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The staff is more than accommodating and very friendly. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Top Notch Candlewood Suites My husband and I stayed at this property a couple of weeks ago and were very plesantly surprised by a recent remodel and the wonderful staff. We stay at hotels 50+ nights a year, some of those nights are in Candlewood Suites. This particular Candlewood Suites should be the 'flagship', a model for other Candlewood Suites to model themselves after. In decor, cleanliness, friendly staff and professionalism...this hotel was a step above every other one we have stayed at. We're busiess owners ourselves and we immediately said to each other, "excellent management". So, thank you Candlewood Suites, we will definitely be staying with you again. January 28, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Did not Enjoy this property Pre-paid for a 1 bedroom large suite for 10 days and was given a handicap room with bathroom counter and only a handicap toilet, a sink for wheelchair to fit under, a shower head on a slide bar in the tub. Microwave was not hung under cabinet like should be;was set on the only counter space in kitchen. Thermostat broken and did not regulate temperature correctly. Had to set on lowest available A/C temperature of 60 just to get it to 74 degrees. When switched to heater setting on cold nights the heater would not quit unless manually turned it off. Asked for a different room and was refused due to "lack of availability.' When I said I didn't ask for a handicap room I was told "you don't get to reserve a specific room." I said 'I understand that, but I didn't reserve a handicap 'type' room'. Again was told there were no other rooms available in the price category. When I asked them to fix thermostat, they didn't seem to fix anything; I still had to manually manage it, but I don't know for sure because nobody got back to me on repairs. Room service is only provided once a week(!); Once a week room service was not disclosed on the web-site and was disappointing. I do not recommend this property for the room rates charged and for lack of enough rooms to accommodate the purchased level. November 21, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by After staying at this Hotel several times I am now disappointed. I have stayed at the OKC location several times with a friend to have a "get away" time. After leaving I discovered I had left a book on the bed and called that evening to see if they had it., Knowing no one could of seen it except the cleaning crew right after we left. I was told on first phone call nothing had been turned in and to call back the next morning. I did. The lady took all my information and said she would call me back. Never did... I know the hotel is not responsible for my stuff but this was flat out dishonest. The book was not that big of a deal, it was the book mark in the book that belonged to my deceased mother-in-law and I told this to both parties I talked to. I will think twice before staying here again and I am disappointed about that because everything else is good. :( November 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by short/long lodging for FAA, staff is great + points This Candlewood has some super friendly people working there. The front desk staff all know you by name in a few days. If you have to come to OKC for a class at MMAC, check it out. Pros - hotel one of the few chains that match FAA long term hotel per diem rate. You may be on the hook for some taxes on stays less than 30 days. After 30 days, the hotel automatically credits back the OKC lodgers tax, and they don't charge Federal tax. IIRC, you're still gonna pay Oklahoma state tax. Pros - Rooms are usually very clean. There's a manager free food/near beer every Wednesday night. It's 10 minutes from the front gate of MMAC, and you can find whatever eats you want on Meridian. All rooms have kitchenettes with decent pots, pan, 2 fork/spoon/knife, ladle, spatula and meat fork, rubbermaid storage containers for leftovers, a full size fridge with icemaker, a dishwasher, toaster, and microwave. The little 4-cup hotel coffee maker has a permanent dribble when pouring, otherwise it's fine. The rooms are generally quiet. The furniture is the new Candlewood upgraded stuff, and all rooms that I've stayed in have Panasonic flat screens on flexible wall mounts so the TV can be set to view from desk or bed. Washing machines and dryers all work (usually) and are free. There is a candy bowl on the front desk and USA Today free Monday thru Friday in the lobby. Priority Club members can spin a wheel for a prize at check-in, otherwise not much in the way of perks, even for Platinum. There is a new universal machine, newer treadmills and elliptical machines adjacent to the laundry. The hotel internet (Wi-Fi only) uses Superclick authorization, the access code changes every Tuesday. 4 different ESPN channels are on the TV. Cook your own food or walk to Billy Sims BBQ, a great Chinese/pho/mongolian BBQ buffet, and other restaurants. Wal Mart at 3rd & MacArthur, about 3 miles away. Pets are allowed for $10/day extra, and there's a pet walking area around the BBQ patio. Cons - Housekeeping only once a week. They'll make the bed, swap out towels, take out the trash, and clean the bathroom. Crickets invade some times of the year. 1st and second floor you'll hear two-ton Tony stomping around above you. The free food is only on Wednesday night. No pool. Some of the beds are lumpy and/or creaky. Other beds are like new. Just depends. The elevator sometimes breaks down. There is no wired internet, just wi-fi. Good TV hobbled by a limited selection of channels, if it's dark and rainy expect it to go out, it's satellite. Room A/Cs are hotel-typical wall units. The pet poo picker-upper dispenser is perpetually empty. Bring your own Wal Mart bags to pick up after your pet. Summary - For the price and Priority Club points, this Candlewood Suite is a super deal for FAA students who want to pocket some of their per diem. November 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this little hotel I come from the east coast and stay here about 4 times a year even though i could stay a lot closer to my child in college. Even though its a chain hotel, there is more of an "inn" type feeling, a coziness... and it's quiet. The rooms had just been redecorated last time i was there and it was just lovely. Bed and pillows are ohhhhh soooo comfy. And the price is unbeatable. Last time i cooked 2 different meals for my child and roommates so they could have some decent meals during exam week. Not a lot of cooking equipment or burners but enough to make some 1 or 2 pan meals if you're willing to spend the time, and with the kids in classes, i had lots of time, lol. And if you don't want to cook, there are lots of places around to eat. Enjoy. I certainly do! October 26, 2012
