Would'nt recommend.Very disappointed evening for me and my wife trying to get a romantic getaway for her birthday.We planned the outing for months and were going to take in the local sights.We had a super dinner and perfect weather for our getaway.It's too bad this was all spoiled by parents that couldn't control their rowdy children. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Candlewood Suites Peoria, Il Hotel is in a nice area with shopping, restaurants, etc. There is a strong smell of laundry soap or carpet shampoo the minute you walk thru the front door. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit questionable. Although very clean and well stocked. The bed was pushed up against one wall with no reading light on that side. I had to slither out the bottom to use the restroom in the middle of the night. Pillows have seen better days. The headboard was up against a wall that had to be the back to the elevator. You could hear the elevator every time someone used it. There was a large, skillet sized burn mark on the countertop. The fridge is quite noisy, even without the ice maker on. Turn the ice maker off when you go to bed or it'll drop ice all night and wake you up. The easy chair footrest was a struggle to put back down when you wanted to get up. A real struggle. The place was clean and the location was convenient for what we needed. Otherwise, I'd probably go to the HI Express across the river. August 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Stay I was put in a room next to a pump room which caused large noises throughout the night causing issues to sleep. Not only that but the thermostat did not work causing the room to get extremely warm at night. Also the cleanliness was not at its best as I found hair in my sheets and also encountered a strange smell in the room. I also worked out at the facility at the hotel and the max time allowed for the bike was 10 minutes. This caused me to have to reset the bike every ten minutes to complete my workout. The staff was very nice and seemed responsive to the issues this morning. I am a Platinum member for IHG and have barely ever been on the first floor or by a room where an issue is known. The reaction from the staff on that room having issues discouraged me from future stays at the Candlewood in Peoria. August 20, 2014
