Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Poor management and lack of communication My stay at Candlewood was unpleasant Poor management: No one in the front desk is answering responsibly, even if they say something to you that will conflict with others. New manager seems like he is not answerable to anything happening in Hotel. Fire alarm works fine but most of the time it will be issue in the system: 3 times fire alarm went off From January 2014 to Feb 6 2014. All three times it was fake alarm. twice it was on morning 5 to 6am. I still remember they said they will provide 5000 club points or 10 cupboard for waking us by fake fire alarm on Jan 2014. I think still we didn't receive a single points. And I have even asked this to so called Manager but he is irresponsible. Poor commitment: When I checked in on Oct 31st they told Telephone call through out US & Canada is free of cost. Without any information they started charging from Jan 2014. I didn't realize till until I receive a receipt. So asked Manager about this, and amazed to hear what he said "We never said that Phone calls were free, so far the system not working properly till January 2014 so didn't get charge and now the system works fine after 2014". Now from Feb they even started charging for local calls. Even if some staff says something again it will rephrased by Manager after few days. Cleaning: For the past 3 months I didn't see they change the blanket. Full size refrigerator with Noisy run all the night and Exhaust fan in bathroom will not work properly. Overall I'm dissatisfied with the Management, Cleaning, Faulty equipment. Only good thing is they have free laundry. This is not biased review. Once you stay more than 1 or 2 week you will know the truth. I will not recommend this hotel as a value for money for extended stay. February 10, 2014

Check in was not till 3 pm, but we called at 10 am to see if we could check in at 10:30 am. The front desk employee said it was no problem and let us check into our room early. The room was clean, eventhough we only stayed in it to sleep. January 2, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for an extended stay place Overall, my experience was good. The front desk people were quick, attentive, polite and professional. The room was good - spacious, everything worked. On the other hand, there was a crispy spot on the rug where I'd guess something hot had burned the rug. And when I pulled out the skillet to do some cooking, there was old food residue on it, including some pieces of onion that someone had sauteed. I would expect the utensils and cookware to be throughly inspected and cleaned between guests. Overall, it's a good place to stay if you're staying for a while and don't need much in the way of amenities outside of your room. October 7, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overstuffed Recliner My husband and I are paranormal investigators and travel all over the country. We always stay at Candlewood Suites when we travel. Usually our stay are great but not this time. We were promised an overstuffed recliner because I have a disc problem and can't sleep in a bed. The chair was terrible, it felt like I was sitting on two wooden boards for 2 longs days. I was very disappointed, the recliners in all the other locations are awesome. It was like sleeping in a torture chair. Another problem was the shower in the bathroom. It constantly dripped heavily for 2 days and wouldn't stop no matter what we tried, it echoed throughout the room and was very annoying when trying to sleep. Not a great experience at all. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall - great choice Staff is excellent so anything that is lacking is trumped by the help. The only thing I would recommend would be flexible chairs in the rooms - that allow you to raise / lower the height for working at the desk. Having one level is not optimal for someone who prefers it to be higher, thus more comfortable. Again, not a deal breaker, but something to consider down the road. PS: Love the pillows. The whole weekend stay was perfect and relaxing. I would recommend Candlewood Suites to anyone traveling in the Peoria area. May 29, 2013
