Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware! I stayed two nights at the Candlewood in Phoenix, for a weekend get-away with my wife. Upon entering the room, we were greeted with an unidentifiable odor that smelt slightly like mildew. Upon further settling into the room, it was discovered that the freezer was not very cold at all; and the ice bucket in the freezer was filled with dried dirt and other deposits. The concern with the freezer was immediately reported to the front desk; we were advised that a work order would be issued, but there were no available rooms to move to. Later that night I discovered a few unidentified hairs that were wrapped up in the shower curtain and in the bathtub. When I grabbed a face towel from the rack, I was greeted with another unidentified hair. Needless to say; the freezer/ice machine was never repaired. I have never encountered such cleanliness issues with any IGH property... EVER. I will not be booking at the Candlewood Phoenix again!!! October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Usual stay Have stayed here several times, it's in the center of everywhere I need to go for work so is convenient. There's a walking track right behind the hotel, basketball courts, plenty of space to get active. Not much else within walking distance as far as I could tell, but with kitchen saved money and just made food in every night. Internet could be a little quicker at times, but overall really good stay. October 23, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service, Could use some updates I enjoyed my stay at the Candlewood. I was surprised with the room and amenities the hotel provided. I do however believe that the rooms could use some updating. The rooms were nice, but looked a little beat and dirty. It wasnt from lack of cleaning, but just general wear and tear. Dont let this push you away from the hotel, however. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying here again without a doubt. To end on a positive note, the staff was excellent and made the stay that much better! October 21, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the Cupboard This is the second time I have stayed at a Candlewood Suites and I am hooked. I love the comfort of the bed and the quietness of the room was fabulous. The only downside for me was the lack of television channels I had the option of viewing. I got sick on my visit and was confined to my room and it was disappointing that 3/4 of the channels were designated for sports or news, which by the way was on a loop. BTW...I caught the FLU which had nothing to do with Candlewood. October 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by alarming night but a good property the three of us took two rooms for one night in mid-October, a one bedroom and a standard suite. both were clean and comfortable, with good towels, and no problems with respect to operability of any of the kitchen appliances. One glitch was an alarm clock in the one bedroom suite near the sofa, which went off at about midnight. Roused from a sound sleep, I shut it off, and unplugged it, only to have it go off again an hour later (who knew it had a battery??) After shutting it off again, I put it in the refrigerator, and didn't hear any more from it. We had no trouble from the bedside clock/radio/alarm. October 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprising Quality at a Very Affordable Price As an IHG Rewards Club member, I was upgraded to a junior (?) suite that really surprised me by its quality, size, an luxurious appointments. It was on par with many of the 4-star hotels I stay at routinely during my 150 nights a year spent on business travel. If I am able to secure this level of room for anything close to the price I received for this stay, this will become my preferred lodging source in 2015! A in my book! September 27, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by An ok stay The front desk staff was very accommodating. The hotel seems to be ideal for longer stays. They offer a huge array of DVD movies free to check out cause every room has a player, complimentary washer and dryers usage and you can "borrow" kitchen stuff. The hotel itself is older but the room furniture is modern so you barely notice the age. Location was okay near the highway and its true, noise is not a factor. Tip: they do not provide breakfast but each room has a kitchen so be ready to cook or go out on your own! August 27, 2014

Although the nightly fee was low so was the quality of my stay. Smelled like stale cigarette smoke, traffic noise was constant, we were afraid to leave the facility after dark. There were no dining facilities close. The "cupboard" was a joke as a breakfast option unless you are into Frosted Flakes and candy bars for breakfast. August 27, 2014

They are responsive to any needs. I love the bed; it is very comfortable. It is located close to training and fairly close to restaurants and other stores. The room was very modern and spacious, with a decent kitchen area (compared to other hotels that I have stayed at where the kitchen seemed like the size of a box). The hotel offered free laundry facilities, an onsite gym (could have been bigger, but it was still usable), and free coffee in the lobby area. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Will not stay here again Carpets were stained, not sure if something was spilled or if another guests pet caused the stain. Broken desk chair, horrible sitting chair, hair in the shower and on the shower curtain. One spoon in the kitchen area. Room temp was either to hot or to cold, could never get it right and the air conditioner was very noisy. When I checked in, I had to tell the front desk that I was a Platinum member and ask for the extra points Vs. the bottle of water. He said I was only a gold member according to his system and advised I would only receive 200 points. I even showed him my Platinum card and he said it did not matter as my card was probably old. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Suite condition The one bedroom Queen Suite was very comfortable and convenient. The only negative was the general décor. Because of the dark color the carpet appeared to need cleaning. The sofa sleeper was uncomfortable and showed signs of wear. (Corner fabric torn) The layout was excellent. The staff was helpful and handled all our requests. (Especially, Tyler, who helped with printing our boarding pass) We are planning to return in December. July 17, 2014
