Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Visitor Overall the room decor was great. However the bed was extremely hard and the springs dug into our muscles. April 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by suites are problematic The room layout is nice, but there were 2 big problems with having a suite: 1) very poor temp control; all heat & a/c comes out in living room, so if bedroom feels good, living room feels terrible (not to good for person sleeping on couch) 2) pull out couch is extremely uncomfortable April 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by great place if you smoke Even though all of the designated smoking rooms are on the top (3rd) floor, every floor reeks of tobacco. Entering at the front door requires walking through a cloud of smoke produced by smokers in the outside smoking area. If you smoke, this place is for you. If not, save you lungs and go somewhere else. April 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by smoking The hotel was close to the airport and very convenient. Unfortunately we were put on the third floor, the only "non-smoking" room on that floor. It reeked of cigarette smoke so we requested a new room. The bottom floor is completely "non-smoking" and the room was fine; clean and smelled good. However, there are two ashtrays set just outside the front entrance to the building, and every time we went by we had to walk through several smokers. All that smoke went into the hallway through the open door (it was a very nice weekend!) and the entire hallway just reeked of cigarette smoke. I found that intolerable. I mentioned it to several of the staff, and they just shrugged their shoulders. If you smoke, stay here. If you don't, find someplace else. April 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by bathroom I stay here a lot, great place, great location and at a good price. Generally a good value. However, last time I stayed, someone used the bathroom prior to me being there and the bowl was not cleaned. No big deal, nothing that a few flushes didn't solve. Not sure what happened. This won't stop me from going again and again. Accidents happen. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay for extended period I had a great stay recently at the Candlewood Suites Pittsburgh. The room was auto-controlled for temperature. The flatscreen TV was strategically positioned at an angle that was perfectly friendly to a bathroom bath or reading session. The kitchen suite had ample appliances and eating tools. The dishwasher was thorough and did not smell. Hard boiled eggs were easily made in one of the provided pots and on the safely timered glass cooktop. The sink had a garbage disposal to take care of those unwanted egg shells. The coffee that was offered was delicious, however it would be nice if they made it easier to get more (I was only afforded the one that I got the first day and the free ones in the Candlewood Cupboard were all taken minus the decaf ones... yuck). However, there is a free coffee maker in the Cupboard room. Nevertheless, my stay at Candlewood Suites Pittsburgh (second time around) was as relaxing and comfortable as the first stay. I've stayed at the Crown Plaza and at the Holiday Inn (RMU). Both were pleasant, but the Candlewood is much much closer to everything. And I mean everything. A stone's throw from Target and a 2 minute drive to Super Walmart. Plus, plenty of restaurants and a short walk to the new Latitude 40 (a giant Dave & Busters). Next time I'm in Pittsburgh, I'll be glad to be booked here. Thanks again :) February 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value Facilities were impeccable and well laid out. The inconvenience of past remodeling was well worth it. February 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable room Lot's of amenities. No bkfst offered, but whatever. The rooms were well appointed- much more so than I'm used to at this price point. I will return for a suite next visit! January 8, 2013
