Plenty of good places to eat, and shop. The facility is well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. Close to the airport and economically priced. I'll keep coming back to this hotel when i'm traveling to Pittsburgh.

Stayed there for a month in July and August of 2013.
Stayed on the 2nd floor and had a cou[ple with young child above me on the 3rd. All I heard was that child running around, stomping and jumping up and down.
I know it's NOT the hotels fault, but the inconsiderate parents who don't remind their child that there are other people staying under you and to limit the running, jumping, and stomping around.
Entrance was a little dirty and unkept, but the FREE laundry (washers and dryers) were great.

We stayed at a Candlewood outside of Pittsburgh for ease and liked it so much we stayed at two more, in Philadelphia and Hazleton on our east coast swing. Good price and overall comfortable. Smokers were welcomed so it wouldn't be for everyone, but we loved it.
Did it compare to our suite in Manhattan? It was larger, but not as swank.
The staff was friendly throughout and I would stay at a Candlewood again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Op42 Great for visiting the Grandkids
We stayed here to visit our three grandsons who were in baseball finals. They loved not having to give up their beds when we let them know we had a neat hotel with a kitchen. As always we loved the room, staff, and all the goodies, coffee and popcorn.
Thanks to your staff for being so good to your guests!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Carlfam Good overall. Nice location
When we arrived (and checked out), there was no one at the front desk. A sign instructed us to call "0" and someone answered right away and returned to help us within a few minutes. There was fun game to play for free stuff if you are a gold or platinum member. The hotel was nice and offered basic facilities. The laundry, exercise and cupboard were all in one room. Plenty of washers and dryers which were complementary, you just needed to purchase detergent, etc. Free DVDs were available. The room was good and offered a quite place to sleep and relax. The location was good being on the edge of a large shopping complex with just about everything you need, with the notable exception of a convenience store - no 7/11s here.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CC811 Not a Pleasant Stay
We were with a group of 14 adults in the area to attend a concert. We stopped off at hotel to register, as we knew that we would be back late and wanted to make sure our rooms were held. As soon as we entered - the girl behind the desk was very rude! "Are you all here to check in?? You can't check in till 3 - I have no rooms" So after explaining that we did not want access to our rooms -she shoved a bunch of papers at us to fill out & stated that "Not her problem since she would be gone by the time we came back"!! In a lobby full of people??? So of course we came back at midnight - 2 young men at front dealing with computers that were slow/down did the best they could. And a few of the rooms reeked of smoke even though they were non-smoking. So sorry to say we will all be taking our business elsewhere next year when we plan our trip!

I stayed at the Candlewood because of the free shuttle to the airport and it was worth it. The clerk had my key waiting for me when I checked in and told me how to catch the shuttle in the morning. Everything was nice, the room, the quiet and the easy ride to the airport. I will be back again. Thanks.

We stayed for a colelge graduation over the weekend and had a pleasant enough stay. The air conditioner is very loud and we had to turn off the ice maker since that would wake you up in the middle of the night. Overall, a nice and inexpensive alternative than the pricey downtown hotels.

Overall the room decor was great. However the bed was extremely hard and the springs dug into our muscles.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by momathon suites are problematic
The room layout is nice, but there were 2 big problems with having a suite:
1) very poor temp control; all heat & a/c comes out in living room, so if bedroom feels good, living room feels terrible (not to good for person sleeping on couch)
2) pull out couch is extremely uncomfortable

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by fyfy great place if you smoke
Even though all of the designated smoking rooms are on the top (3rd) floor, every floor reeks of tobacco. Entering at the front door requires walking through a cloud of smoke produced by smokers in the outside smoking area.
If you smoke, this place is for you. If not, save you lungs and go somewhere else.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by fyfy smoking
The hotel was close to the airport and very convenient. Unfortunately we were put on the third floor, the only "non-smoking" room on that floor. It reeked of cigarette smoke so we requested a new room. The bottom floor is completely "non-smoking" and the room was fine; clean and smelled good. However, there are two ashtrays set just outside the front entrance to the building, and every time we went by we had to walk through several smokers. All that smoke went into the hallway through the open door (it was a very nice weekend!) and the entire hallway just reeked of cigarette smoke. I found that intolerable.
I mentioned it to several of the staff, and they just shrugged their shoulders.
If you smoke, stay here. If you don't, find someplace else.

I stay here a lot, great place, great location and at a good price. Generally a good value.
However, last time I stayed, someone used the bathroom prior to me being there and the bowl was not cleaned. No big deal, nothing that a few flushes didn't solve. Not sure what happened. This won't stop me from going again and again. Accidents happen.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CAE78x Great place to stay for extended period
I had a great stay recently at the Candlewood Suites Pittsburgh. The room was auto-controlled for temperature. The flatscreen TV was strategically positioned at an angle that was perfectly friendly to a bathroom bath or reading session. The kitchen suite had ample appliances and eating tools. The dishwasher was thorough and did not smell. Hard boiled eggs were easily made in one of the provided pots and on the safely timered glass cooktop. The sink had a garbage disposal to take care of those unwanted egg shells. The coffee that was offered was delicious, however it would be nice if they made it easier to get more (I was only afforded the one that I got the first day and the free ones in the Candlewood Cupboard were all taken minus the decaf ones... yuck). However, there is a free coffee maker in the Cupboard room. Nevertheless, my stay at Candlewood Suites Pittsburgh (second time around) was as relaxing and comfortable as the first stay. I've stayed at the Crown Plaza and at the Holiday Inn (RMU). Both were pleasant, but the Candlewood is much much closer to everything. And I mean everything. A stone's throw from Target and a 2 minute drive to Super Walmart. Plus, plenty of restaurants and a short walk to the new Latitude 40 (a giant Dave & Busters). Next time I'm in Pittsburgh, I'll be glad to be booked here. Thanks again :)

I've stayed here many times flying in and out of PIttsburgh. The staff has always been excellent, clean rooms, comfortable, plenty of parking and places to eat nearby. I am platinum and have been for about 5 years and this location ranks in the top 5 for value, location and experience.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gredal Comfy room but halls and stairs smell
I love the rooms and the price is great but the practice of keeping garbage cans in the halls means you can smell the garbage generated by people who have cooked in their room and then put the garbage in the hall next to a heater/fan that blows the smell everywhere...people accessing the pet walking area generally use the west stairway and it was very smelly (perhaps tracked in?) ...its the little things...I can hold my breath for quite a while and do but would be so much nicer if I did not have to.
