Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and comfortable stay Pros: The room is clean and comfortable. They provide all the amenities (stove, fridge, sink, microwave, dishes, etc.) to make your stay as close to home as possible. There are no ice makers in the building so they went one step and provided refrigerators with ice makers, if you turn on as soon as you enter you will have ice within a few hours. Check in staff was friendly, non talkative, but friendly. locating your room was easy and the hallways were clean and they send you a welcoming text once you're settled in your room... nice touch of customer service. The hotel is surrounded by a plethora of activity from restaurants to retail shops, so you'll have no problem locating things. Cons: Arrived in the evening and there were no lights on in the parking lot or on the sign, so almost missed the entrance. Not too inviting or friendly to say the least. So after checking in I inquired why no lights to identify your building? Clerk said, "It's darker earlier so they'll come on later" Ummm, well, yeah! It is darker sooner and that started in September management should have prepared for that in September. But anywho...he wasn't rude I figured that he was just relaying what was told to him as an excuse. Also, when I entered my room it smelled like cigarettes and the air was on full blast, which only held the smell making it that much more stronger. I was able to retrieve some "febreeze like" in a bottle air freshener from the clerk to spritz down the curtains, carpet and bed spread ---that did the trick. All in all great hotel and service and would definitely stay at another Candlewood Suites or IHG affiliate. November 7, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by VEry Dirty and smells We stay at Candlewood I was very disappointed. I ask for Non smoking room. It smelled like someone had smoked at case in there. The halls ever dirty and we had ants in our room. I had the most uncomfortable night ever. I will never return. November 3, 2014

It was like very sleek and modern. i was very surprised when i opened the door to the room. the common area of the hotel is a little older looking and the elevator scared me just a little but the room was great. i definitely recommend. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Only issue was not with Candlewood Suites Great place to stay in Pittsburgh Air Port area. Lots of shopping in area if needed. Restaurants a plenty. Buy gas ahead of arrival if your driving, no gas stations close. Only problem I had was someone's car panic went off overnight and took them forever to turn it off. I looked out window and all was well, except for the honking. Checked with staff in morning, no crime had occurred. I've stayed here a number of times and will again. October 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not at all impressed I had to ask for my 500 welcome points. Otherwise they would not have given them to me. I did not like the "no ice maker" other than the one in the fridge which made terribly tasting ice cubes since the water sat in the lines for so long. I couldn't adjust the HVAC, and when i mentioned it to the front desk they said they would look at it and the NEVER did. They also had no TV channel listing. I asked the front desk and they didn't even try to find one. This last point is something that is standard in ANY hotel I have EVER stayed at. October 20, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value and unpretentious accomodation Used for a short stay business trip (more conventional hotels were full) Candlewood Suites, Pittsburgh Airport proved to be entirely adequate accommodation. The room was clean and spacious with a bathroom of reasonable standard. The downsides were that the room was not very dark at night, the air-conditioning was noisy and the only breakfast available was from the Candlewood Cupboard which had limited choice at high prices. What a nice surprise! Check in was backed up a bit and the lobby was average, but when I got to my room, I was very pleased with the appearance, layout, furnishings and quality. I usually stay at a brand new facility in the Poconos and the value can't be beat, which turned me on to them. When we had to visit Pittsburgh on a last minute trip, the cost was very reasonable and in a great location. Not far from the airport, the city and right next to food spots and quite a bit of shopping. The facility is older than the one we say in the Poconos, but was in great shape and had lots of space. Kitchen and Bathrooms were extremely clean and in great shape. Being a IHG Loyalty member, I was also upgraded to a suite without asking. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't need to stay in the city. October 9, 2014
