    I enjoyed my stay at the Candlewood Suites East. The only real issue I had was with the wi-fi and the fact that it kept coming and going. I was in Plano for my daughter's wedding and I was glad to be staying in the suites because they were comfortable and clean.

    Friendly Service and Family Oriented

    My family really enjoyed this hotel. We took advantage of the 'lending cupboard' and rented a board game for our stay for the nights in the room, which was a nice change from just watching t.v.. The rooms are large and clean. Plenty of room for a family to stay comfortably. The bathrooms are nice and modern, and very clean as well. The staff were all nice and friendly. My children enjoyed 'shopping' for snacks at the store, which offers a nice selection of snacks besides the usual vending machine foods offered at most hotels.

    The down sides (although all are only minor and nothing that would make me not stay at this hotel again) were the water was slightly discolored (brownish) (probably not a hotel issue, but a town water supply issue), the pullout sofa mattress was not fantastic (although my children seemed to not mind it at all), and one of the halls smelled of cigarette smoke, which I am really sensitive to. However, our room (which was non-smoking) was fine and didn't have a smell at all. There is also no pool, which is a big deal for our hotel choices for summer trips.

    Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I think it is a great value for the price, and very friendly service which goes a long way with me! We will be back :)

    Worst stay ever

    When I checked in the Front desk woman was very nice and professional. When I got to the room my TV did not work. She did come up and spend a fair amount of time fixing it. The room smelled TERRIBLE. She told the hotel was sold out and offered some spray. I could also not get my internet to work.

    I had to leave early for an event and when I turned the light on the kitchenette was crawling with roaches. I took pictures and talked to the front desk. They offered to give me 5,000 points and to give me a second room. I had events all day and did not have time to negotiate. I had to throw out all my food and wash my clothes to avoid bringing home any hitchikers. The second room did not seem to have any roaches and the TV worked but the internet was still touch and go.

    I contacted customer service when I returned home without satisfaction. I was credited 4,000 points instead of the offered 5,000 and I did not receive any refund for the room or groceries.

    I travel extensively and am usually very happy with my accommodations. This stay was disappointing as was customer service.

After your departure, I had our pest control company inspect the guest room for the insects that you mentioned, and he did perform a preventative treatment. I am happy that our team member was able to assist you with the problem with your television. All of our guest rooms have DVD players, and occasionally the controls will be set to DVD, and not tv. It is a matter of the staff simply changing the setting. I am happy that you were able to speak to our national customer service team, and that they awarded you loyalty points for your inconvenience.
