    While I always prefer places that include breakfast, the value of this site couldn't be beaten in the greater Richmond area. Didn't get any amenity points for checking in, but eh, nothing's perfect.

    Small rooms with small beds!

    The rooms are very small, only double size beds. We asked for an upgrade and, as usual, none were available. We asked for a room with 2 beds or a suite. None available. It was an uncomfortable week for us. Also, all the outside doors were never locked. Anyone could enter the hotel from any door at any time. In all fairness, the manager did show us a room with 2 double beds that we could ask for if we came back to this hotel. Obviously this room was larger than the one we were in. He also said that he was aware of the door problem and that it was being addressed.

    Nice from the outside...BUT

    Quite simply, this is a SUBSTANDARD Candlewood Suites--really one of the worst I've stayed in, relatively speaking. AC and TV not working properly, exercise room was poor, and service, only at times, was rude.

    Sorry, I'll not stay here ever again while traveling to Richmond.
