The room was very comfortable. I had everything I needed, such as cook ware, microwave, music and furniture for quests. The bathroom was equipped with enough toiletries. Very nice stay for one night.

Everything about Candlewood was excellent. The staff was friendly. The room was spacious and very clean. We will be coming back to this area soon and will definitely be staying at Candlewood again.

We stayed in a room immediately behind the elevator. In spite of this location, we never heard anything that would have disturbed our sleep. Great soundproofing and never heard any footsteps overhead either. This was a really nice clean property and we liked it so much we stayed there a second time before flying out since it was so convenient to the airport.

I know candlewoods are there for the extended stay guest but I loved it for my one night stay. I enjoyed having a bag of popcorn to while I watched my favorite TV series. Thank you all for the great night.

This was our first stay at Candlewood Suites, but will NOT be our last! Excellent experience - clean, comfortable, spacious - and top notch customer service. Nathan and Melissa at the front desk were gracious and helpful in every way - even at 6am!!! Thank you for the sincere hospitality.

Melissa at the front desk was so helpful. She held our wedding dress and suit for pick up so that we could easily move to the airport for our honeymoon.
She had our shuttle ready to go before the sun came up which gave us peace of mind. Definitely a good stay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while visiting Richmond for a wedding. It was affordable and the room was clean. I enjoyed having a real kitchen (sink, fridge, 2 burners, etc.) available to cook. There was some free popcorn, which we ate. There is a nice patio out back where we mingled with other guests, which was fun. The front desk staff were kind enough to let us check out a few minutes late, so that was good. I usually like to stay at hotels with hot tubs--it is a special treat when travelling--so that's the only other thing I really wish the hotel had offered. I would recommend this hotel.

At first appearance it looked like this would be a fine hotel,but as we walked into the room we were hit with a strange odor. We thought it was just an old stale smell so we turned on AC & left for supper. We even purchased some room air refreshers. It didn't help. Once in for the night we tried to run the DVD player(it is nice they have a lending library). We were unable to make it work.Even our teenage daughter couldn't get it to work. So I called the front desk & was not treated kindly. Finally, they said it would be a little bit but that they would come up to check it out .I had also asked for an extra blanket & was told they would have to see if they had one. After waiting for 1 hour & no one showed up(by now it is 11:15 pm) I called the front desk to cancel our need for the DVD player to work- it was getting too late- they said that the person who told me that had gone home for the night. They never really apologized. Just mater of fact said he is gone! In the morning when we checked out I mentioned that it was broken to the front desk & they too never apologized just said we would have to have it looked at. Frustrating. The room was spacious. The full kitchen was nice. The pull out couch was VERY uncomfortable and stained. not sure if we would stay again.

We, my family, recent;y stayed at this hotel for a lacrosse tournament. It had the most uncomfortable beds, the bed is on top of the air conditioner so the person closest to the air conditioner froze at night or we got really hot in the room so they would not freeze. The elevator is the slowest elevator I have ever been waiting for or riding and it sounded like it would break at any moment. We were never informed about the fact that we would not get housekeeping during our stay until after we came back from an extremely hot day and found our dirty towels still on the floor in the bathroom (you have to stay a week to have housekeeping). For the price we paid I was completely dissatisfied and annoyed. This was our first and our last experience with this chain, we will never stay at a Candlewood again. And we have stayed at many different hotels at different price points and this was unimpressive to say the least.

We enjoyed being at the hotel again and will come back whenever we are in the area. Everyone at the hotel is fantastic!
A few small details: it seems that the veneer covering on the desk (edge of the top and edge of the pedestal need to be applied with super glue. Was not a real issue to us but it kept coming off whenever you touched it. Second, the water pressure in the shower was weak on the 4th flower, which was not a real problem. But the rest of the water pressure in the suite was just fine. Finally, we think that the fan in the bathroom no longer worked. I know that the fans are quiet in the bathrooms but this one really did not seem to work. Not a big deal on any of these issues but we thought it would be good if we let you know.

The week before I arrived I spoke with Anthony at the front desk to request a first floor room which I was assurred would be no problem. When I arrived I was told they had no record of my request and that the only room was a Handicapped accessible room on the third floor. On the third day the elevator was out of order and was still not repaired the next day when I checked out. Good thing I could use the stairs. I have been at this hotel for the past month and one of the two gas grilles has never worked. This normally wouldn't be a problem but a lot of guests there use the grills and there can be a significant wait. Also the trash at the pavillion has been emptied by myself or other guests despite requesting it be emptied, including having to go to the desk to get garbage bags to replenish the trash receptacles in the Gazebo. The staff needs remedial training on how to treat guests and run a hotel! Being an Elite member I expect more. Fortunately I have been transfered and am staying in a different Candlwood Suite where the staff has been a pleasure to deal with.

Chris came through like a champ and balanced a change of requests that where unexpected and at the last moment (Thank you CHRIS). This group of motivated employees make it a complete pleasure to stay here at all times!!!

It's mostly a perfectly adequate hotel, certainly the best Candlewood among an assortment of them in the Richmond area. However, even the best has issues. THis time, it was a greasy skillet and a crusty spatula mixed in with the clean utensils in the kitchen. I just washed them and used them. On the whole, though, it's a decent studio run by an enthusiastic staff, in a pleasant tree-lined area hidden from the noisy airport area. Grateful for an upgrade to a 2-bed room by a clerk who recognized a Priority Club member.

We found our suite to be very clean and well supplied with what we needed. We only stayed one night on both our visits, but enjoyed both stays. Would definitely stay again, our best overnight stay for any hotel.

It is convenient to get to from the highway and to find restaurants and shopping. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We have stayed there several times now and have enjoyed our stays.

My wife loved the bed! Only issue I find at this hotel as I have stayed here a few times is the parking situation. Very limited parking in the front which is fine but when checking in you can never find a spot out front unless you park in one of the many hadicapped spots. Parking in the back for chekin is fine if you didn't need a key to get in the door. You need to have 3-4 checkin spots up front to not inconveinience those checking in. I subtracted a star for the parking.

Nice facility good clean rooms, we had overnight and long term stays every visit was excellent. Staff is very courteous And willing to help. I was receiving care at VCU and the location was perfect distance for travel.

I surprised Team Richmond on this trip. I did not have a reservation until the last minute as my plans changed and had to spend a weekend with them. As usual they came through like champions and provided me with another top of the line stay. These folks are so much fun to deal with when you have a last minute request!!!
