Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by stay away from room near elevator I always request a specific room type and location for optimum quiet and privacy. This trip for some reason my requests were essentially ignored . Check in staff person lacked basic finesse and customer service basics. She seemed overworked and stressed and disinterested in pleasing the customer, me. I travel alot by car long distances and expect cleanliness and my requests honored. I respect the hotel properties I stay at and leave my room as neat and orderly for cleaning as possible. February 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb Comfort and cleanliness. We now stay here at least three times a year. The cleanliness cannot be surpassed; comfy beds and plenty of elbow room. Have recommended Candlewood Suites, Rocky Mount to family and friends. Very convenient to restaurants, gas station and easy access to Interstate 95 and Hwy 64 - take out to the Outer Banks yearly. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SAFETY and Courteous I really enjoyed the staff last year which was not there this year. Last year they were open and friendly and made sure I was safe and comfortable. That is why I headed there the second time this year. The women there was somewhat attentive, always saw her cleaning but she was there alone. Last year it seemed to be a family all working together and they gave me a great suite since I had a large dog with me and it was convenient to the back doors which this year my key did not work and I had to walk the Rottweiler through the lobby. Back door keys are great for dogs, but the back door locks were not working. I felt safe but could be my Rotti wouldn't let anything bother us!!!! I was alone but comfortable and will stay there again. Although, getting there from I95 was a real chore, since my GPS sent me around through neighborhoods and dirt roads??????? ps: could use fresh dishtowels, shampoo January 22, 2014
