I have been at this location on several occasions for anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks at a time for business. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are well kept and clean. If I ever need anything the staff is very responsive and quick to act. I can't complain.
I have to take a moment to brag on one staff member in particular. Gregg works the desk in the afternoon and early evening. He is such a wonderful person. Every single time I have arrived, or come in from a day of work he is so polite, friendly and just a pleasure to see. He is extremely courteous and always willing to go the extra mile if I have needed directions, recommendations or anything. It is people like Gregg that make staying in a hotel more pleasant. I have stayed where the desk clerks do not interact with the guests. Gregg loves his job, loves people and it shows with all that he does.
As an example I recently was having problems with the air working in the room. He offered to move me to another room. I said, that was not necessary, that an open window would work for the night. He went and found a fan for me to put in the room to assist with cooling it. Not many would do that. Gregg is to be commended, recognized and praised for his attention to the guests at this location.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ween74 We have a new stopover!
My husband and I have stayed at various places driving home to NY from Florida. This was the first time we stayed at the Candlewood Suites and loved it. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the room was so comfortable with all the kitchen amenities, and it was located perfectly close to I-95 with tons of restaurants to choose from. The Turnpike Diner next door opened at 6 for a good breakfast to send us on our way.As priority club members we received the extra "perks." This place is a "keeper" for us! Keep up the good work!

This is an excellent property. It is well located and convenient (for me) to the company’s I sell to.
Most of all, the people make you feel like family. To a lesser degree, it’s kind of like going home

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DaisyBoop Very relaxing and a perfect bed
I have stayed at almost every hotel in Rocky Mount and the Candlewood Suites is now my favorite. The staff is exceedingly friendly, the hotel is easy to find, and the bed is very comfortable. There is a great restaurant called the Highway Diner right across their parking lot. There are no streets to cross and its a 1 minute walk.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill39 Great BUT one big mistake
We had a guaranteed reservation of a one bedroom accessible suite. However, when we arrived the room was not available. Whats more the room was being used by people who did not need an accessible room. While they moved these people the next day our first night was miserable. We stay at Candlewood Suites when we travel and have stayed at this one many times and will do so again. However, we learned we could not trust the reservation process and we do not believe the hotel should have made any charge of that one night.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jtdraig Pet Friendly
We have stayed here several times because it is a pet-friendly hotel, convenient to I95, and has good restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel. The Staff, especially, Gregg is competent, friendly, and willing to do anything reasonable to help you out. The rooms are comfortable, functional, and perfect for overnight or longer term. I guess we never realized thet there was a Harley Store because the only real noise we have ever experienced was some minor clunking around above us which is normal for an American roadside hotel. Pet rates are quite reasonable at $25 which is a little less than half of another hotel not far up the road.
Construction has eased and when done will make the location even better. If you are looking for a place halfway between Central Florida and the Northeast, you really cannot do much better. for the price point and amenities. .

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jtdraig Great Place To Stay
We have stayed at this place several times and the only possible complaint is that the construction allows you to hear the people above you stomping around. Remarkable! The Staff is fantastic especially Gregg but it is a problem when the gorillas above stomp around. We won't stop staying there at all but it can be disconcerting.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rsparro Stayed here before
My last stay was good, but this was better...firstly, it was not summer, so it was much more quiet. (not the noise of the Harley Davidson store like in the summer). Also, there are now several restaurants that will deliver..last time there were only fast food pizza places.
Very pet friendly, and reasonable pet fees. There is still construction on the main drag, but it was getting better.

Due to husbands work this was a long term stay (6 weeks). And I would frequently come and stay with him for a week or more at a time throughout this period and the fact that they happily accept pets makes forward planning so much easier.
The staff are wonderful people who will do all they can to accomodate any requests you may have while you stay here, but also are very respectful of your safety and privacy.
The convenience of the laundry and gym facilities are also a bonus as is the grill/gazebo area.
We will definately be staying here again should the work schedule require us to be back in this area and I am sure the staff will be as welcoming again as they were on this occasion.

My wife and I were rushing to return home in NY after Hurricane Sandy hit. The Candlewood Inn was located perfectly 1/2 way from Florida and had an easy off I95 and easy onI95. Thanks for being there. Beautiful room, great service and wi-fi.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rsparro BUT BE AWARE
There is a Harely-Davidson store that shares the parking lot, and they play loud music, with a live band, until late at night, not to mention the roar of bikes going in and out...Harleys are not quiet. My room faced the store and parking lot. Also, there are no restaurants that will deliver, except fast food pizza places. I have two dogs and do not like to leave them alone to find a place to eat, and there are none. I did like the fact that it is vastly dog-friendly, but it's pet fee is twice the fee at other Candlewood Suites. I wish they were more consistent.
Also when I was there in October, there was a lot of traffic due to noisy construction going on on the main drag

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rsparro Noise Level & food options
Be aware that there is a Harley Davidson store that shares the parking lot with the hotel, and they like to play loud music, until late at night, to say nothing of the roar of bikes constantly going in and out. Also, no area restaurants will deliver to the hotel, save fast food pizza (Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns). Would have been nice to have a few 'real' restaurants deliver, since I travel with 2 dogs and do not like to leave them alone in the room, while I search for something to eat. There is a diner, (inexpensive--good service) which also shares the parking lot. OK for breakfast...nothing else.
Pet friendly is great...however, they charge double what I have paid in other Candlewood Suites.
