    have stayed here several times but based on my most recent experience I have to report that Candlewood Suites may say, "Hey, we're glad you're here," or "Around here, you rule," but these words are obviously brass. I reserved a two queen bed non smoking room on the first floor because I am in a wheelchair and need easy access to the outside. What did I get: a king size bed in a smoking room on the third floor. And there was no air conditioning to the bedroom. Instead there is a useless fan in the wall, whose intent I gather was to bring cooled air into the bedroom: it doesn't. When I protested the room's location and incorrect bed choices, they said they were full and there was nothing to be done; but this was a week's call ahead reservation. Additionally when I called the desk and complained that this was clearly a smoking room, the response was they had recently re designated rooms. What this means is they changed the tag outside the door to read nonsmoking while inside the room, the paint, the carpeting, the furniture, and the bed reeked of smoke. And to almost add insult to injury, when my wife went out to the car at 5 a.m. the next morning to load our luggage inside the car, she discovered our room key had already been deactivated and she couldn't get back inside the hotel. Fortunately another guest was outside and he used his key to allow her reentry. Of course when she arrived at the door of our room, the key again failed and it was only because I had remained as the last luggage to be toted to the car that she was able to enter the room. It is sad when either local management or corporate policy decides that customer no service is the way to treat clients. I can no longer recommend this location and hope any future customers demand a guarantee of services promised. However, I will note the room was clean, the linens were clean, and the two televisions worked. But I believe after this experience, I will not return.

    Would be an excellent review in all categories were it not for the very high pet fee that seems to be standard on all IHG rewards hotels that even accept pets. I have one dog and one cat that are both well trained. $25 per night is too high for a pet.
