When checking in, there was one person in front of me and it was 16 minutes before staff member got to me. Staff member did not acknowledge my Platinum status.
The internet would drop me out numerous times when using it; on 02/22/2014, no internet from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Hot water stopped completely on 02/22/2014 at 8:00 PM till 02/23/2014 at 12:00 PM. Hot water service was intermittent when I checked out on 02/24/2014 at 1:00 PM.
Other than the failure to reconize IHG status I wa happy with the staff.

When we arrived everything looked ok. when we were ready to go to sleep we found a pair of socks in the bed, so that means they didn't clean the sheets after the last guest. I talked to the manager and she told me that she was going to clean the room for me. The next day when we were getting ready to take showers we found out that the water heater was not working, it was untli 1:00 pm when we could start our day and get ready to go to sea world. I understand a water heater malfunction but not washing the sheets after each guest that is just wrong.

This was our second visit to this property. Each time we have reserved a queen suite room. The room seemed clean although it smelled really weird. It was a non smoking room but it smelled like smokers had lived in the room and you were attempting to cover it up. Our clothes soon took on that smell too. Very disappointing. This location is very convenient for us when we visit San Antonio but i am not sure we will stay again.

I love candlewood suites but was disappointed with the bright light coming from the parking lot out front. It was hard to sleep - the room was not equipped with drapes to block out the light. I could see where other guests tried to close the drapes and ripped them at the top. This is the only candlewood suite that I've experienced with this problem.

Our son recently moved to San Antonio and we traveled in November for an early Thanksgiving meal together. We had never stayed at a Candlewood Suites but liked the idea of a kitchen and two living areas. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was, the location was excellent, the kitchen was well stocked and all the amentities were great.
I LIKED not having housekeeping waking me up in the morning to come and change towels...knew that if we needed new ones or garbage collected, we could have that done...but for 5 days, we did not need any help.
In addition, the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. Neirj...(sp?), was wonderful - attentive to all our needs, responsive and pleasant to be around. Because we were all new to town, he helped us out immensely. He's a real asset to the hotel.
So overall - I highly recommend the chain and this location in general. You will not be disappointed

while staying at the candlewood suits i had little worries there. they were very caring to me and my family. i was so impressed with them that i will be going there again. thanks alot guys, you saved my family money and stress, shout out to the staff.

The front desk staff was courteous and pleasant. The room was fine and clean. Beyond that nothing really excelled. The bathroom was clean but had a missing shelf in the shower. The stairways looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. There was garbage piled up near waste bins at each end of the hallway. There is very little parking in front. I really should have switched to the hotel next door. It looked much newer and nicer.
