They did not give clean towels if you stayed more than one day. The swim pool area was dirty when told it was never taken care of. The trash was not removed, I had to take trash out.

When checking in, there was one person in front of me and it was 16 minutes before staff member got to me. Staff member did not acknowledge my Platinum status.
The internet would drop me out numerous times when using it; on 02/22/2014, no internet from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Hot water stopped completely on 02/22/2014 at 8:00 PM till 02/23/2014 at 12:00 PM. Hot water service was intermittent when I checked out on 02/24/2014 at 1:00 PM.
Other than the failure to reconize IHG status I wa happy with the staff.

When we arrived everything looked ok. when we were ready to go to sleep we found a pair of socks in the bed, so that means they didn't clean the sheets after the last guest. I talked to the manager and she told me that she was going to clean the room for me. The next day when we were getting ready to take showers we found out that the water heater was not working, it was untli 1:00 pm when we could start our day and get ready to go to sea world. I understand a water heater malfunction but not washing the sheets after each guest that is just wrong.

This was our second visit to this property. Each time we have reserved a queen suite room. The room seemed clean although it smelled really weird. It was a non smoking room but it smelled like smokers had lived in the room and you were attempting to cover it up. Our clothes soon took on that smell too. Very disappointing. This location is very convenient for us when we visit San Antonio but i am not sure we will stay again.

I love candlewood suites but was disappointed with the bright light coming from the parking lot out front. It was hard to sleep - the room was not equipped with drapes to block out the light. I could see where other guests tried to close the drapes and ripped them at the top. This is the only candlewood suite that I've experienced with this problem.

Our son recently moved to San Antonio and we traveled in November for an early Thanksgiving meal together. We had never stayed at a Candlewood Suites but liked the idea of a kitchen and two living areas. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was, the location was excellent, the kitchen was well stocked and all the amentities were great.
I LIKED not having housekeeping waking me up in the morning to come and change towels...knew that if we needed new ones or garbage collected, we could have that done...but for 5 days, we did not need any help.
In addition, the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. Neirj...(sp?), was wonderful - attentive to all our needs, responsive and pleasant to be around. Because we were all new to town, he helped us out immensely. He's a real asset to the hotel.
So overall - I highly recommend the chain and this location in general. You will not be disappointed

while staying at the candlewood suits i had little worries there. they were very caring to me and my family. i was so impressed with them that i will be going there again. thanks alot guys, you saved my family money and stress, shout out to the staff.

The front desk staff was courteous and pleasant. The room was fine and clean. Beyond that nothing really excelled. The bathroom was clean but had a missing shelf in the shower. The stairways looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. There was garbage piled up near waste bins at each end of the hallway. There is very little parking in front. I really should have switched to the hotel next door. It looked much newer and nicer.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our 3-4 week stay there. Every time we needed something, they were able to answer our question or get what we needed. They made our displacement from our home very stress free from what was really happening in our lives. It was a great plus staying there long-term. One thing only is that you need to fight for time at the washer/dryer on most days. Other than that, they have a gym to use with T.V. to watch, a cupboard with a good amount of variety, and pleasant staff and managers. And a plus to stay at when you have pets! It has a couple of eating establishments within walking distance as well. Would love for them to get a bigger pool area! Then it would be awesome!

Very nice staff greet you at the front desk. The rooms are clean, beds really comfortable. Barking dogs in one of the guest rooms is a the one negative. Please keep the barking dogs outside.

It is obvious that the hotel management have done nothing to fix their check in process and unprofessionalism of employees. We arrived on time as per their check in policy and did not get into our room until an hour and half later from their check in time. Housekeeping did a poor job of replacing the sheets in the room. I watched housekeeping and did not see them come out with dirty sheets. I only saw them with a rag and spray to wipe common areas and bring in new towels. I pulled the sheets back and found hair and dirt.

I was in San Antonio for 10-weeks of training and a friend recommended this particular Candlewood Suites. I am very glad I took her advice and stayed here. This is a really well run property and I enjoyed staying here very much. This was probably the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. I had a room on the 4th floor and rarely ever heard anyone--even during Spring Break. My room was very comfortable and functional. I enjoyed having the gym and took advantage of it quite often. The "Candlewood Cupborad" is very well stocked. I appreciated the fact that there was someone at the front desk 24/7. Although I did not use the free laundry, I saw many people taking advantage of the facility. As good as all of the amenities were at this location, the staff is really the crowning jewel of this location. After 10 weeks I felt like I really got to know the folks who worked the front desk. Felicia, Angie, Elizabeth, and Niraj were absolutely outstanding. Very professional and friendly. Whether I was leaving or coming back after a long day, they always said "hi" and were genuinely interested in "how my day had gone". Even if you don't have to stay in San Antonio for an extended period of time, you should really consider staying here. It is about half way between Sea World and Fiesta Texas. Overall, a great experience.

We were there for an event nearby held at 8:30 am. Instead of being rushed to pack we asked for a 1 pm checkout so that we could return later at a more convenient time to pick up our bags. We had bought over $60 of food that was still unopened in the bag on the counter. When we returned for our bags at 12:15 pm our bags were still there, the maid service had clearly begun to clean up and our food was nowhere to be found. What a disappointment to our kids!
But on the plus side- the property was very well kept and quiet, and the desk staff were very helpful.

The staff are wonderful, the atmosphere is great, and the perks are nice. The only single issue I have is that this property only has 4 King Suites (true, multiroom suites). All the other rooms are not what I would call suites. We got a "suite" with 2 queens, expecting there to be some sort of division of the room. There isn't. The room is two queen beds, chest of drawers with a tv on it, desk, counter with sink, burners, and dishwasher, and fridge. All in one living space. If you plan to try this with small children, you should be very sure that you have walked all of Six Flags each day so they are willing to sleep in the same room with you and you are able to sleep. That's the only complaint. The staff are all very friendly, restaurant recommendations hit the spot, and the Candlewood Cupboard is handy. Being located almost exactly between Six Flags and Sea World made our vacation easier. There is also a Sonic drive-in almost in the parking lot, which made my wife very happy.

We had the pleasure of staying at Candlewood for 8 months. It felt like home from the start. Justin, Felicia, Niraj and Angie the front desk crew were the best, always friendly and accommodating. I actually hated leaving them. They were strangers, now friends!

My 5 month stay at the Candlewood Suites near Sea World could not have been any better than it was. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and if I am ever back in San Antonio I am definitely staying here. The hotel invited me to a few different social functions and I was made to feel at home. There is plenty to do in the area as there is a good restaraunt, a nice sports bar/ billiards with about 20 TV's showing pretty much every sporting event and a reasonably priced gym right next door and downtown/Riverwalk are only about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.
