they are located on a one way street so if you pass it up, as we did, you have to make a block and come back. I love the cupboard idea. the room was comfortable and nice size.

The hotel is a little old but is kept very clean. Also the hotel is located in a nice area with lots of restaurants and things to do.. The staff is very friendly and helpful and so it's comfortable and secure place to stay.

Very nice place to stay for a few days or weeks with large modern clean rooms and furnished nicely. Would recommend to anyone coming to San Antonio.

I stay here about once a month and they always have my room ready for me when I arrive. Bottles of water are only $1 where some other Candlewoods charge $2.50.

The staff was very helpful. The gym was small but the pool was nice.The room was comfortable and furnished for a extended stay. The price was very reasonable and the location was centralized.

My stay was bangin' off the hook. You wouldn't even believe it. The staff was all smiles and, "Have a nice day," and stuff. Y'all don't even KNOW how friendly they were. And there's an elevator on the left that's all, "WHOOOOO~!" when it opens up. The staff knows what I'm talkin' about. That's the PARTY-VATOR alright? It know what's good.

I showed up at 3:40 and although check-in was at 4:00, I had to wait until 4:20 before my room was cleaned. Not good.

I did not like having to take my used towels to the front desk and getting fresh ones. I did not like having to take out my own trash. I also did not like not having housecleaning come into my room at all. I thought that is what I was partly paying for was for housekeeping to bring me towels and trash bags and to tidy up the room each day by making beds and doing light cleaning.
Also, the furniture in the room was threadbare. There was also a large blood stain on the back of the mattress for the fold up bed. There was a hole in the floor that I nearly twisted my ankle each time I walked over it. Also, the carpet going in to the bathroom was ripped and worn out. I did inform the hotel staff of all of these matters and I was told "I'm sorry" but that was it and I didn't feel it was going to be reported to anyone else higher up.
Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again but not even a Candlewood anywhere due to their policy of housekeeping.
The only saving grace was the bed was comfortable.

Just our luck this weekend wasnt good. We were on Vacation ready to stay 4 nights and our beds were never made, no towles were ever changed out. Along with coffee, sugar, and cream, I had to get on my own. I've worked for Holiday Inn, in Lubbock for many years and our housekeeping always tended to our customers. Making sure towles and the amenities were in place in the rooms. The room wasnt as cold as we hoped. On our third night stay, A party, or fight , something went on at 2:00 or 3:00 am kept me and my husband up, dog barking did help either. just alot of unnessary stuff. I want happy with my stay. We left after that awful night.

We came back to Candlewood because we've had great experience with them in the past. Upon arrival we were told there had been a small over-booking error and we had been upgraded from our two-bed queen room to a suite. Nice surprise! Once we reached our suite we discovered only one queen bed in the roomy separate bedroom, which was perfectly acceptable, since we are a married couple. The front desk called shortly after we got to our suite to make sure that our upgrade (which eliminated one of our beds) was acceptable. Uh, yeah!! The wonderful living room with sofa and recliner, full kitchen, and large bathroom were so great during our nine-day vacation. The free washer and dryer came in really handy... we had even packed light, knowing we had this free service. Our bed was super comfortable, which isn't always the case with hotel beds, as you know if you travel much! Staff was friendly and accommodating. We got a great deal on our stay, and we will definitely come back to Candlewood again!!

I have stayed at Candlewood before and it's always a convenient and friendly place to stay. The rooms are nicely furnished. I really like being able to just relax in the recliner after a hard day. The staff is courteous and helpful without having to intrude daily like most places I've stayed at.

We have used Candlewood on several occasions and were always very pleased. This time was a little different. The chairs in the room (419) were threadbare with holes in the material. After first use of the toilet, it backed up. Afterwards my wife used the lobby toilet. Coffee pot still had burnt coffee from previous user.
This is not a bad hotel, but it did not meet the standards we have encountered at other Candlewood properties.

Stayed for a couple days and all was OK until cleaning staff kept trying to get in my room while I worked. I put their sign out to do not disturb and clean room next day but ignored it and banged on door till I answered. Also, I left a few clothes in my room and when I called to see if they would look in drawers for it they said nothing was turned in. Oh well, not a total loss but disappointing.

This is the smelliest hotel I have ever stayed on. The smoke stench is offensive everywhere, the halls, the lobby, even the "smoke free" room.
There was a problem with their reservations system and my reservation did not show, however a very nice lady at the front desk took the time to call Priority Club and confirm my reservation and went out of her way to accommodate me and family even tough the place was sold out, she put is in the "Manager´s Suite" which was very spacious.
In conclusion the place stinks literally but the people that work there are awesome.

We were in pretty rough shape after an 18-hour drive but we bumped into SJ in the lobby and WOW was he ever upbeat
and friendly! The 2nd time we went through the lobby, he saw us walking our dogs and made sure there were some dog-treats available, which also made our dogs VERY upbeat: :-)
It was probably 10 hours later when we saw him the 3rd time and he was STILL HIGHLY UPBEAT and helpful.
My wife and I really appreciate being made to feel welcome by
enthusiastic, friendly, thoughtful people like SJ.
We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we're in the area.

Accommodations were made a few days before arrival. I was told because of this, I would only be able to stay in handicapped accessible room. At check-in, I informed the rep that I preferred to pay cash either then or at check-out. She stated I would still need to provide a credit card, but she would note my preference on the reservation details. Our reservations were for two nights. We made a point to be out of the room early after the first night so that the room could be cleaned, furnished with fresh towels, etc. When we arrived back to the room late in the evening, I was concerned that room hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk and was informed that we could pay to have room cleaned. This info upset me because we have stayed at extended stay hotels before and hadn't had an issue with a clean room. At check-out, I attempted to pay in cash; only to be told that my credit card had already been billed and I would need to wait 10 days to reflect a credit. I informed rep that we wouldn't be staying or referring this location to anyone. Poor customer service and obviously the customer's needs weren't a priority.

I was very surprised and happy with my stay it was so nice I stayed 2 additional days. I was not expecting much for the rate but I got a great surprise at the cleanliness, the courtesy of the staff, the comfort of the bed and the suite had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. I will be retuning when I am staying in the area, I hope that the candlewood hotels in other areas are just as nice because I will be booking at Candlewood on my next hotel stay.
Keep up the good work and hats of to the staff.

This was by far the worst place to stay. Dirty, worn out furniture, tub would not hold water, beds were hard and smelly...horrible, I slept on the floor; more comfortable. Pillows were like rocks... wake up call as we were leaving, no breakfast; free coffee?? no one told us. Forget being a Priority Club member at this dump!!!Hallway was dirty and elevator panel was unscrewed and hanging.
Stayed in room 421, must be the dump for folks that use Reward Points.. Don't stay here!!!!!! Go to Salvation Army.

The Operations Manager and additional staff were extremely helpful when my plans were changed; changing reservation and re-crediting my account for points deducted during this stay and the previous. Very nice property, secluded in a large city! I would definitely recommend staying at this property to anyone who asks.
