I am undergoing Chemo treatments in the medical center area. This Hotel is perfectly located for my needs at the Cancer Treatment Center. The rooms are perfect because they offer a kitchen area and a work area so I can keep up with my business duties. Candlewood staff have always worked with me on my needs and are extremely friendly. Pricing is always great. Perfect for my needs!

If you have to be in the Medical Center area for business (maybe to get the business), or visit someone, this is the place for you. This Candlewood is very close to the Medical Center and makes it easy to find all hospitals, clinics and renowned specialists that call San Antonio home. Seemingly secluded, its right off of IH-10, but you get that convenience sans interstate highway traffic noise.
If you’re a tourist and couldn’t care less about the Medical Center, this hotel is still perfect for you. Loop 410 is about two-miles South of the hotel, and another 10-miles beyond the Loop heading South on East bound IH-10 delivers you to the River Walk, the Alamo, and the King William Historic District. Heading North on West IH-10 will take you into the Hill Country, or you can stop at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, or The Shops of La Cantera and The Rim for some great shopping. From IH-10 and Loop 1604 you can easily get to the University of Texas, San Antonio, or a little further West, Sea World (although it is much closer from the hotel to use Loop 410 West). Within 14 or 15-miles of this Candlewood are 90% of the attractions of San Antonio; and it is also a quick exit from the city and you can be well on your way to Boerne, Fredericksburg, or the LBJ Ranch near Johnson City.

Stayed there during Thanksgiving 2012 for a Family Reunion. Had five rooms. Managed to cook and prepare our food for our pot luck Thanksgiving Dinner, except the ovens were missing. I stayed here two years ago, I was sure they had ovens back then. But our stay was a pleasant experience. The staff helped us out in any way possible, got a great rate and for that I was thankfull.

Overall the stay was great, quiet, and the staff was excellent--friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, etc.
Only negative--1st night, 1st time on elevator--someone had been smoking on the elevator--it stunk, smoke, etc., told desk clerk, next time on it later that evening, was fine. Saw no signs saying "no smoking" on elevators--not saying they weren't there, just didn's see them.
Would stay there again.

For the first three months we were there we were forced to stay in the first floor next to the swimming pool which was always noisy and we asked several times if we could change rooms but it never happend until several weeks later. Besides that the rooms would sometimes not be cleaned to standards. Places were left dirty at times and linen not exchanged either due to child sleeping or they would run out and not bring new items until being asked several different times
