Our family of four stayed for two nights over the Fourth of July as we were visiting our son at Ft. Leonard Wood. We were impressed with how helpful and gracious the staff were, how spacious the room (one bedroom suite) was, and that everything was so clean. The fitness room though small was cool, dry, and had everything I needed for a good workout. We had several of our meals in our 'eat-in-kitchen.' We will definitely stay here again for the next visit. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant.

Comfortable room and clean. Only issue I had was the internet. Very slow, and with business travel that I do, I rely alot on the internet to do work away from my office.

Our room was very clean and smelled great. The beds were comfortable and the room was above what I expected. This was our second time to stay here-and as always, the staff was so friendly and helpful. We felt welcome, comfortable and safe even coming in late at night. This hotel by far outshines even the other Candlewood Suites we have stayed at in other states. We will be back anytime we are in this area.

Door Slamming, laundry room, laundry room TV vs workout room TV are major issues with me.

I loved this hotel so much. We were traveling through and ended up booking another night as we travelled back home. Such a wonderful place to stay.

Find any other hotel in the area for your stay.
I stayed in this hotel for a total of 11 nights. During that time, the room was serviced (cleaned) once. I've stayed in other hotels that only service the room on a weekly basis but this one was different. Usually, the staff will ask you if you need anything (i.e. towels, new sheets, etc.), however, even though the staff at this hotel were very kind and friendly, they never once asked if I needed new towels or if my garbage was overflowing.
As far as convenience of location, it was good enough- close to basically all of what St. Robert has to offer. But so is every other hotel. The ability to use the free laundry room was about the only benefit of staying at the Candlewood versus any other comparable hotel. In fact, multiple times during my stay, I contemplated moving; however, because it would have involved moving all of my family's luggage, I did not do it. Similar hotels in the area offer free daily breakfast, pools, and a clean room daily.
The incident that really drove this stay to a negative was the day that my infant got sick. She got sick around 8 a.m. and had thrown up on the carpet and the floor as well as some on the sheets. I immediately went to the front desk and explained what happened and asked if I could please either get someone to clean up the mess or provide me with cleaning supplies so that I could clean it up myself. I told him that I didn't mind cleaning it up, since it was my daughter's mess, so I just needed a mop and maybe some rug cleaner and a rag. It wasn't until 7 hours later (at 3 p.m.) that someone knocked on my door and asked if I needed anything to clean up. I told him that I had already cleaned it 6 hours ago with my own cleaning agents that I obtained from my car (since I was moving to St. Robert) as well as my own mop and rags. I had also asked for new sheets but never received them; and only got new ones when I brought the soiled ones up to the desk to exchange them. I couldn't believe, with such a nice, friendly staff, that I was not getting any kind of service, even when my infant daughter got sick, and I was all alone to clean up the mess in their hotel room.
When I mopped up their floor (I mopped the whole thing, not just the part where she had vomited), it was filthy. I scrubbed the rug with the rag and besides the little bit of spit up that was on the rug, the cloth was almost completely black. By the time I left, I had 3 full bags of trash that were over a week old. I have never paid the amount I paid to stay at this hotel and felt so disgusting. I have certainly stayed in less expensive hotels that provided a much better and cleaner service than I received here.
I was so relieved to finally leave. At least at my own home, I can clean the floors and wash my own sheets. I HIGHLY recommend finding a different hotel at a comparable cost, or even a less expensive one that will surely compensate for the many things this one lacks.
