Rooms are spacious and the kitchenette is well equipped. Staff Is really friendly and helpful and set the place up as a welcoming place to relax. November 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cleaniness While staying at your hotel, I noticed that cleaniness was an issue in some areas. When using the dog walk area at the rear of the hotel with my dog, guests had left empty cups/bottles on the grass and at times, trash. This wasn't picked up for days or it was mowed into the bits when the mowing service came. At one point, the doggie waste bags weren't replenished for four days. In the cupboard area, more often than not, there was a mess of spilled coffee/spilled sugar on the counter and the coffee supplies were constantly low. In the laundry area, there was often discarded lint or old fabric softner sheets littered on the floor and it wasn't well cleaned. Also, while I realize that I was there for more than two months, the appetizer menu that was nightly (monday - thursday) was repetative each week with no new items. Half of your staff was excellent and the other half was terrible. At one point, I needed fresh towels and had to wait while your front desk employee finished their personal phone call before they helped me with my request. Very disappointing. You do have approximately four or five employees that I was delighted to interact with while I was there and at times I would wait until I saw one of them on duty to get something I needed as I didn't want to deal with your other employees. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by the woodlands Candlewood suites Please Note* this is my experience with the CandleWood Suites in The Woodlands TX (can't speak for other locations. Initially when I called the woman that answered the phone (local not 1800#) seemed as she was not paying attention to what i was saying & had to repeat myself.Once she finally booked the room she said thanks for calling. I then said Hey wait a minute, aren't you going to ask for my email address to send me a confirmation number? She then asked, mind you she was ready to hang up early, she then asked "oh what was your expiration date on my credit card. I then repeated that to her and she gave me a "confirmation" which I believe she made it up because it wasn't coming up as the correct confirmation. Once I got to the hotel that evening I had to park in the back of the hotel for there is no parking (only for handicap) at the front of the hotel. I am a female and the hotel is in a wooded area and there is no fence that separates the woods from the location parking lot, so needless to say it was freaking me out as I didn't feel safe at all and then having to walk with my luggage to the front of the hotel. Once I was got into the hotel, the gentleman that was on duty at the front desk was that evening was very nice as I told him of my experience while trying to reserve the room and he was very apologetic. I got to the room and turned on the heater and smelled like it was burning so I turned it off. I decided to eat dinner and I opened the utensils drawer and out came a roach! Ok. one roach, but then I opened the microwave and there were 2 more roaches! I did call management and I was moved to another room. That next morning I decided to turn the heater on and the alarm went off! They need to clean the filters so that does not happen! I told the lady as I check out which happened to be the same lady that took my reservation! She said "oh I heard it, but I couldn't figure out what room the alarm was coming from" DUH! Good thing that the room wasn't on fire! So there. That was my experience at CandleWood Suites at The Woodlands Tx It is unfortunate that I had this experience as the room setup was very nice, but I just think that this location needs to be looked at carefully and make some changes on the "staff member", maintenance and consider guests safety concerns.
