Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Less than the best A very unfavorable stay at this Candlewood Suites in Waterloo, Iowa. No extra blankets available when it was appx. 20 below zero with the wind chill factor. I was issued a handicapped room, which I did not need. First floor room was extremely cold. Utensils and dinnerware and were dirty. Minimal toiletries, ie. one bar of soap and shampoo. Exercise room hamper was soiled. Two towels available, which were stained. When I asked a staff member for a standard size envelope to place my bill in, I was informed that I could walk across the street and purchase one for ten cents at a local store. with the exception of one very helpful female staff member on evening shift, the other employees were unprofessional in their appearance and demeanor Common area/lobby lacked basic furnishings, such as a table, and was in need of at least a vacuum. Clock radio for myself and coworkers were set to incorrect time. Even small details make a big difference. A very unpleasant experience. February 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent managed hotel We are repeated guest at this hotel with a small company and we always look for hotels to accomodate us which has been hard for us in the past until we found candlewood suites in waterloo. This is an extremely well managed hotel. They have been great with us and always got us rooms one way another no matter how busy they were. its a clean hotel and well kept and never let us down. We highly recommend this place for whatever reason that brings you to waterloo. You will not go wrong. October 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Property Staff was top notch as usual. Check in and out was fast and accurate. Had a nice quiet room on the 4th floor. Air Conditioning system worked well and was low noise. That was good since the Heat Index was over 1000 DegF outside. Nice large desk to work from in the middle of the room. Easy view of the TV from it. This is a nice feature of Candlewood rooms versus Holidy Inn Express or Holiday Inn. For businees people who need to work on their laptops in the thier rooms, this is a nice feature. Unfortunately there was an issue with the quality of the internet service. Very slow at times and even lost connection on occasion. i mentioned this to the desk person at check out. They said that this was a common problem in the evenings, when alot of people where using the internet. i told them they need to fix it, if they wanted to continue to have business people stay there. Other than that the Candlewood Suites in Waterloo in a great place to stay. September 1, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Checked in late and got to our room only to find out that a "suite" did not imply an extra bed (no pullout bed/couch). There was a chair where a pullout couch could/should have been. When I called down to ask if there were rooms with an additional bed, I was told they were much more than we wanted to pay. There was no working hair dryer in the bathroom, no exhaust fan and the footboard on the vanity was completely broken and lying on the floor. And the room didn't smell well. Management did not go far enough in making us happy upon checkout. Will not be staying at a Candlewood Suites again. Other hotels with "suites" included an extra bed. August 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We were treated like Platinum members-a great experience. We stayed at this Waterloo, Iowa Candlewood property 2 times for a total of 4 nights during mid-July. The ownership and employees are to be commended. They went out of their way to make us happy, first acknowledging me as a Platinum rewards member, then giving my Wife and I some complimentary snacks and beverages. After that , we were upgraded for being Platinum Rewards members to a beautiful one bedroom Suite. Everything was clean and comfortable. The gentleman who runs the place was caring and courteous making sure that are needs were met. One desk clerk, A friendly Lady named Bonnie, was extremely helpful. Experiencing like this are making me far more likely to stay at IHG rewards club properties in the future. p.s. My Wife and I stay at hotels over 50 times a year. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great personal attention by staff My experience could have been a disaster not due to Candlewood, but due to my own negligence. The staff were friendly and attentive. I left on a Sunday and my next stop was a Candlewood suites in Emporia Kansas. Upon checking in I found that I had forgotten a bag at the Candlewood in Waterloo. I called the hotel and the Staff on the desk Bonnie was very understanding and found my bag which had some expensive jewelry and a credit card in it. She was extremely helpful in the process of getting it returned to me. She turned a bad experience into a very positive one. Her attitude and assistance just renews my belief in the basic good in people. I know you said no names however I believe she should get credit for what she did for me. July 14, 2013
