Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed with poor cleanliness, bad odors My family and I have stayed at numerous IHG brands throughout the US and we used our rewards points to book a night at this property in order to break up a long road journey. The location was great but I was horrified by the lingering odor in the room. There was a terrible smell of BO in the room which did not go away. We opened the windows, spayed some freshener but to no avail. It was late when we arrived and we were next to our kids room (which was ok) so we did not bother to change rooms. We had already been told upon checking in that these were the only rooms available anyway. I suppose we were extra disappointed because the reviews on TripAdvisor said that the views were great (?? - we only saw a highway on one side and an empty lot on the other) and the place was ultra clean. Other than the awful smell, we found hairs in the bed and scum in the sink. It made me question the cleanliness of everything (ie the glasses, the gym equipment). Happy that we only stayed the one night, will be sure to opt for the Holiday Inn Express brand next time. January 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room with a view Clean, comfortable, attractive, with fully equipped kitchen and table/desk. Good beds. Pay-as-you go pantry in lobby has everything for pickup meals. Convenient for Springfield. This section of Riverdale Road is a mess, but in the morning we found we had a lovely view of the Connecticut River from our 4th floor room. November 15, 2013

Springfield was made special due to the staff who graciously helped arrange my last minute 4 night stay. Additionally, the room temps were very comfortable going into the cold season as well as the overall room appearance and cleanliness. The staff really takes pride in keeping and making the rooms "like home". Thank you for a great stay. November 15, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Place It was great to walk into our room and see how clean & large it was. The kitchen was full-sized with a full-sized fridge. There was a work table, dining table, full sized sofa with coffee table, large bed and nice large bathroom/dressing area. Everything was comfortable and convenient. WIFI was great, parking was free, and their pet free was fairly reasonable. I would recommend this Candlewood Suites to anyone but especially to weary travelers who are looking for a nice, clean, pet-friendly place. October 27, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always good to return to Candlewwod suites in West Springfield We had not been to West Springfield in about two years. We returned and as always the best experience is the staff. Of course, the rooms are clean and well taken care of. If we had a problem, we could always ask the staff. It is a great experience and we have tried other hotels but as always, we love the candlewood suites experience. The staff are the greatest. They seem to love their work.
