I always have had a high expectation when staying at Intercontinental, however this time, some aspects of what I had hoped for did not materialise, namely, staff knowledge and attitude.
arrival, the bellmen did not really help to unload our many luggages from the car, I presume expecting the car driver to do it for themselves. But worst is that they just stand there and chatting to each other, not even trying or acting as if to help.
Upon check in, the lady at first had difficulty understanding that I have made multiple bookings for multiple days and that I would like to combine them all and pay them together. She told me that she will ask for a credit card guarantee of 20,000rmb, but ended up charging me 25,000rmb; apologizing that she made an error but is not willing to cancel/redo... since it is only a deposit, I agreed and did not want to make a fuss out of it.
The hotel is currently under renovation on their 8th (if I am not mistaken) floor, thus there will be noises of construction during day time (night time is ok, no noise and actually very quiet)
Anyhow, do not be afraid to stay here, as everything else matches what I expected of Intercontinentail: good room design, I love how the electric plugs are available pretty much all around the room, making charging my multiple devices easy. The bathroom are well appointed as well, and the beds are lovely. Internet works well too.
Breakfast was amazing, there are so many options to choose from, including to my surprise, a kaya jam that is more typical of Singapore/Malaysian breakfast jam. Kudos to the F [Less]
