Good hotel but can be improved

We stayed 2 nights here. It was near to JR Hakata station, just 6-7 minutes walk from West exit. Services were good. As I was IHG member, I received English daily newspaper every morning. Also the [More] lobby and front desk staff were helpful. The breakfast buffet was also good. It was mixed with Japanese and Western cuisines. We could choose great variety of dishes here. But I found that something they can be improved. We found there was an unknown towel left in our room when we came back. I asked the front desk staff to pick it up, and then we went out for dinner. But after dinner, we found that the towel was still here. I called the front desk again. He came to our room immediately and picked up the towel. He apologized for his room staff to leave this towel and his late response. It is my first time to have such experience. [Less]

Great experience spoilt by one single check-out staff

I frequent this property whenever I'm in Fukuoka and have always received excellent recognition and service at this outstanding property. I stayed there again from 1/1/2016 - 3/1/2016 and was well [More] treated by all staff members at check-in, at the lounge and at the lobby until I checked-out on the morning of the 3rd. At check-out I was asked to pay for a snack which I did not consume in my room. When I explained politely that I was not aware of this and had not consumed the snack, I was immediately treated as though I was lying and the concerned staff member became vert curt and impolite, as though I was trying to avoid the charges. I've been to Japan enough times to know that this is no cultural misunderstanding and this was just downright rudeness. Never had I experienced such rudeness at a hotel in Japan. As I was in a hurry for my flight, I didn't have time to record down his name, and on my bill, it states the cashier as no. 21. It is very unfortunate that the wonderful experience has been ruined by this particular member of staff. Apart from this one rude staff, everything was excellent as usual and I will not hesitate to return to this property for my next return this summer. [Less]
