Great value
By Road Trip Enthusiast
Holiday Inn Express at Solana Beach provides a very relaxing, clean place to stay at a reasonable price. Seconds from the beach I would have expected to pay much more. Although the bathroom was [More] outdated and towels were not the quality I would expect, everything else was exceptional. The room was very clean , the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. [Less]

Keep It Simple. These guys know how it should be done and the practice it. Easy checkin/out, great food, options for exercise, and close proximity to a bunch of great places. We could not have picked [More] a better place for our stay. Will be back. [Less]
GReat place to stay for business purpose
By Critical Guy
Very friendly reception, willing to accommodate customers. Convenient place as it is at the center of San Diego business area. I and my colleagues had no issue staying at this hotel at all. The [More] breakfast area is good. The food can be improved such as more green and hot dishes. [Less]

Excellent service

I stay at this property when I visit SD on business. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive. On this last trip, they went the extra mile and got me into a room for 3 nights in a row when I [More] was not able to book the middle night. Over the years they have updated the rooms and open spaces. There is a Chili's in the same parking lot which is convenient for getting dinner. Overall happy to continue to stay there. [Less]
A good hotel for my base of operations

The bed was comfortable, parking was affordable, and the Internet worked when I needed it too. A perfect place to conduct my business from! [Less]
Good with exceptions
By Os76
Beautifully appointed hotel in an older but charming Hawaiian style. Great outdoor pool and hot tub area, lots of value-adding amenities with the Aloha Club, and (for the most part) a very pleasant [More] helpful staff. Be advised that "reservation" is apparently a fluid term, as a late arrival from our group of five could not get a room for two full days, although the hotel paid for their room elsewhere. Nightly government reception with open bar and dinner was great, as was the free Aloha Club breakfast. Bartender closed 15 minutes early one night and was dismissive when we arrived (sober) after work function looking for a nightcap. Overall a very nice environment full of amenities in a beautiful, though older building. [Less]
Very nice property
By dtbach
Stayed here for a reunion and thought the meeting rooms and food were very good. My kids really enjoyed the nice pool. Property is well kept up and is laid out nicely. Easy to get to Old Town from [More] the property also which was a big plus. [Less]
