When I arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful and I even got a complimentary breakfast because I was an IHG rewards member, which was nice.
She said she didn't have any rooms to upgrade
(although I did go online and see I could purchase upgraded rooms at that hotel which makes me question the honesty a little bit). Outside of that, every staff member that I came in contact with was super friendly and very helpful.
My room was blah. It smelled a bit stale when I walked in. No big deal, I turned on the air to see if that would help (it didn't, in case you were wondering). I went to sit down at the table and take my computer out. The chair at the table/check had a whole in it and I could see the cushion.
The couch was 2 feet away from the wall and not pushed back at all and the couch cushions were not on properly.
The bathroom was clean and tidy though. The wallpaper in the hotel room was peeling off of the wall and I was just disappointed. I'm bringing my family to a wedding and we are staying at another Holiday Inn in Indiana and I'm wondering if I should have went with the other hotel option because if it wasn't just me and I wasn't just sleeping in there for one night, I would have made a bigger fuss about the room.
