I'm a critical reviewer. I give the Crowne Plaza Times Square five stars in everything. If you stay here, you won't be disappointed. Nothing stood out as "above and beyond" for a flagship New York
City hotel, but those standards are so high that reaching them deserves a five-star review.
I opted for a river view upgrade. The view was nice, but more importantly for us, it offered shade to facilitate sleeping late the first morning of our stay. Times Square views will be brighter earlier in the day.
One comment: I couldn't immediately find the valet parking upon arrival at the 1605 Broadway address. It's beneath the building, accessible from 48th Street, which means that one must go south to 47th Street, right one block to 8th Avenue, right one short block back to 48th Street, and right on 48th Street to the valet parking, just past the Walter Kerr Theatre at 219 48th Street. If those directions were added to the reservation confirmation, it would make parking easier for first-time guests. [Less]
